Rebirth of the Evil Mother-In-Law
chapter-336-30041322

Fang JunRong didn’t not think much about this. It was better off that they were quiet rather than them being noisy anyway. Now all she needed to do was to wait for the landslide to happen…… speaking of, many of the families grew their fruit trees on the mountains.

A few families stood to lose a lot when the landslide happened. But, at the end of the day, it was better off to lose money than one’s life.

Time went by slowly while everyone waited. Fang JunRong was surprised when she received a call from the front desk informing her that someone was there to look for her. If it was someone from the government, they all knew her room number and would come to the door directly.

She went downstairs and was stunned when she saw the familiar person. It was Jiang DeXian! Why did he come here all of a sudden?

“Did something happen at the company?” Wait, no, if it was something company-related, he would have called her up right away, or sent her an email at the very minimum.

Rain dripped down his pant legs and pooled into little puddles around his feet.

Jiang DeXian lowered his eyes. He was nervous, even more nervous than when he was making crazy risky moves on the stock market.

“I just feel that it was right for me to come see you.”

Even if Jiang DeXian hadn’t come over, Fang JunRong still needed to have a talk with him when she returned. She just didn’t think that Jiang DeXian would be so impatient. Judging from his arrival time, he must have hopped onto a train the day after their phone conversation.

She rubbed her temples. “There really is no rush.”

It wasn’t like she would disappear or anything.

Jiang DeXian said, “I worry that you’d fire me on your return.” He stood tall and straight. When he stood there quietly with his eyes lowered and looked docile and helpless for a change, that contrasted a lot with the feeling that he gave others.

All Fang JunRong could think of was ellipses.

“No, you are overthinking this. If I fire you, I will need to look for a new assistant and train them from scratch.” Nevermind about anything else, Jiang DeXian was very competent. Even though her other assistant wasn’t shabby, but Jiang DeXian could do the work of three assistants.

Not to mention he also doubled as her date and her excuse.

Come to think about it, she may have been underpaying him.

“I’ll give you a raise when we get back!” said Fang JunRong decisively.

When she was done saying that, she suddenly realized what had just happened. Was she manipulated by Jiang DeXian? With his rare pitiful look when he said that he worried about being fired, even if she had that idea in mind, she wouldn’t have been able to go through with it. She gave Jiang DeXian a peculiar look. Hmm, he was getting better at this.

Fang JunRong went straight back into her room and Jiang DeXian followed behind her.

Once they were inside her room, she said coolly, “Have a seat.”

She had the best room in the hotel. With the exception of the television, there was also a small couch. The couch was not very big and as soon as Jiang DeXian had sat down, he was much shorter than Fang JunRong. And he was unable to stretch out his long legs.

It felt so out of character that Fang JunRong finally sighed and said, “Nevermind, take the chair. You look so uncomfortable sitting on the couch.”

Jiang DeXian stood up and went to sit in the chair that wasn’t too far from the bed. He sat there and looked at Fang JunRong quietly.

Being looked at by such a handsome man as though one was his whole world, an inexperienced girl would probably blush and fall hard.

Fang JunRong, on the other hand, had already gotten used to it and didn’t even bat an eye.

“Okay, let’s start by telling me when was the beginning of your rebirth?”

Jiang DeXian looked surprised. He thought Fang JunRong would beat around the bush a little. He didn’t think she would cut straight to the chase like that. She didn’t even care to expose that she, too, was rebirthed. Every time he felt that he knew Fang JunRong very well, he learned that he really didn’t know her as well as he had thought.

That being said, her behavior also suggested her trust for him, right?
