Chapter 89 - The turn of events was so abrupt that they thought they might have injured their backs (2)

Jiang YaGe started with all the flattering words and her eyes sparkled as she talked.

Fang JunRong didn’t believe that she meant what she said. Why else would she be going onto this show knowing that the painting was a forgery? At the end of the day, she wanted to give her a hard time.

If Fang JunRong had bought the painting herself, that would have worked quite well. After all, Jiang YaGe had already successfully created for herself a perfect kind, simple, and trusting image by now. What a waste she didn’t go into the entertainment circle with her acting skills?

The show had now taken the timely opportunity to introduce some background about Fang JunRong. Her net worth of 20 billion yuan alone was already impressive. Many of the viewers inquired about whether Fang JunRong was adopting more sons or daughters. They would self-recommend.

Zhou Yang asked, “So what is your reason to come on our show today?” She asked in a joking tone. “Are you here to show off how much loved you are?”

Jiang YaGe said, “Oh, you know. I showed off this painting that was given to me by my adoptive mother when I have friends over.” She gave a slightly embarrassed smile. “Yeah, a little vain, I know. I just can’t help it sometimes.”

Her response brought smiles on many that were at the show. Most people were more willing to be tolerant to a coquettish and pretty girl.

“Then I have a good friend who is slightly knowledgeable in this area. She said something is off about this painting and that it might be a forgery.” She wrinkled her nose and said, “I felt very unjust, so we had a wager and here I am.”

She stuck her tongue out a little and said, “Actually I am regretting a little now. Can I walk off the stage now?”

Everybody busted out laughing at her comment and expressed that it’s too late. She had already signed the contract.

Once Jiang YaGe had successfully created the image for herself, the show moved onto the appraisal part. This show had invested a lot of money in this area. They hired quite a few experts and had them examine the painting one by and one and opined on it.

All five of the expert appraisers, after examining the painting carefully and throwing out a string of technical terms, all agreed on one thing. “This painting is a forgery!”

“Yup. And it was done some four years ago.”

“The painting style reminds me of another work that I had appraised in the past. It’s very likely they were done by the same individual,” said the old expert with white beard. “I recall that this artist has a habit of signing his name on the painting with invisible ink.”

“Do we have a black light? Bring one over!”

Quickly, a black light was produced. Once the black light was turned on, they started scanning over the painting. Finally, they were able to find two characters on the lower right-hand corner of the painting: He Ming.

All the audiences gasped.

Such was the most powerful evidence of all! Evidence liked this beat thousands of words.

Jiang YaGe turned pale and had a look of disbelief. She muttered, “That’s impossible! How could this be a forgery? I don’t believe it! My adoptive mother would never give me a painting that is a forgery. She must not have known about this herself either!”

With a fragile look, she played a very good part of a beautiful girl who was fooled but still trying to convince herself otherwise. She made others feel pity for her.

Halfway through, she finally failed to convince herself otherwise. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She tried to hold back her tears. All things aside, Jiang YaGe was the kind of girl who looked pretty when shecried. There were tears rolling around in her eyes and her eyes bright.

Li XinYun finally felt that the watermelon that she had been eating was not sweet anymore. With an angry look, she said, “She must be in a cahoots with the show and bought a forgery purposefully to set Mom up! No wonder she went onto this show out of the blue. She had this planned all along!”

Li XinYun was so infuriated that she wanted to rush onto the show, drag that pretentious woman down, and slap her a few times. She had never seen such a repulsive white-eyed wolf before!

Zhong Yi, too, looked very angry. “What is she trying to accomplish here? Is she seeking justice for her aunt? Aren’t they the ones who are at fault here?”

She looked over in Fang JunRong’s direction, worried. But all she saw was a nonchalant smile on her, as though the craziness on the show has nothing to do with her at all.

Fang JunRong said to them, “It is true that the painting is a forgery.”

“Huh?”

Fang JunRong went on to say, “Except that the forgery was given to me by Li WangJin. I have only learned about this recently. All of those that he had given to me in the past are forgeries.”

Fang JunRong looked at their stunned looks.
