A vast desert entered Kana and Kiliffia 's eyes. Large rolling sand dunes as far as the eye could see. Kana stared at the scene in front of her as a hot steamy wind filled with sand hit her face. "That fucking asshole!" Kana suddenly yelled out. "Why the fuck did he send us to a place that was completely void of life!?"

Kiliffia, who was at Kana's side, clung on to Kana's arm. Her body was already dripping in sweat. Her once fluffy tail now matted together, making it no longer look like a foxtail. "So hot..."

Kana looked down at Kiliffia and frowned, she was fine with such heat due to being a dragon, but Kiliffia was different. She was of the fox race, and such heat could be deadly to her. It was at a time like this that Kana wished she had access to her water dragon skills. Now more than ever, she wanted to find an item with the water attribute. But with how hot this magical realm was, Kana was not sure how long Kiliffia was going to last. Her clothes were already soaked through with sweat, and at the rate she was sweating, she was bound to die of dehydration unless they found a source of water.

With no other choice, not wanting Kiliffia to waste her energy moving, Kana scooped her up into a princess carry, chose a direction, and took off. Kiliffia didn't even have the state of mind to be excited about being carried by her goddess in her current situation. She felt sick to her stomach and very thirsty. Just keeping her eyes open was becoming an issue. "Kiliffia, whatever you do, do not fall asleep on me. I will find a place for you to get some water and cool off, but you need to do me a favor and stay awake, okay!? So stay awake, so I know you are doing okay."

Kana moved as fast as she could. She could feel the sting of the sand as it hit her skin. Luckily she was a dragon, and her skin was very tough, or a few layers would have already been blasted off with each gust of wind. Kana also did her best to keep Kiliffia protected from the wind as well. But the parts of her skin that were exposed were turning red from both the sun overhead and because of the sand that was hitting it.

Back inside the academy, a situation was occurring. The bear man stood looking at the portal that Kana and Kiliffia had entered and felt something was not right. "Why is there a red hue to this portal?" He mumbled to himself.

"Dean William!" An instructor came running over, his face full of sweat. His breathing haggard. He stopped in front of the bear man holding his knees as he tried to catch his breath. After a few seconds, he finally looked up but what his eyes fell on was not the bear man but the portal behind him. "D-Dean… Please tell me you did not send any students through that portal!"

"Hmm? I did, why? This was a portal that was set up for a special test for one of the new hopefuls." The bear man, also known as Dean William, had a bad feeling welling up inside him.

"Dean, It is our fault! When we were doing maintenance earlier on the magic array to move the portals around, the newest portal that had yet to be explored got mixed into the bunch. When the research team went to check the portal that was in place of the new portal, we found it to be a yellow class portal and not a red class portal… The portal behind you is a red class magical realm! It has yet to be explored, and the only thing we know about it is that tokens do not work in there, and the whole realm seems to be an endless desert! Temperatures there can increase to the point of melting metal!"

Dean William's face sank as his anger surged. "How the fuck do you go and fuck up like this!? You actually mixed up a yellow portal and a red portal!? Get a team together now! We must bring those two back! Do you know what the king will do to us if the hero of Rural were to die in some unknown magical realm!? Even if, by chance, Miss Kana is able to take the heat, the little fox girl with her will die within a few hours! Get your ass in gear and get a team ready within ten minutes. We are all going in!"

"Ten minutes… Dean, it will take time to get a portal machine corrected so that we can even make it back! We need at least a day..." The instructor's face was pale. If they all just jumped in now, no one would be able to make it back. But as he was waiting to be beaten by the Dean, he thought of something that might give them the time they needed. "Dean, we may not be able to attempt a rescue right away, but we may be able to lock on to Miss Kana's position. By doing so we can adjust the portal's exit point to her and also send her a message. By doing so we can send them some water. And some heat repelling magic gear."

Dean William looked at the instructor, his eyes burning with rage. But he still controlled himself. "Fine quickly get it done, do it in an hour! That little fox girl is a very important friend to Miss Kana. So you best be quick. Otherwise, even if we do save Miss Kana she may go on a rampage and destroy our entire kingdom!"

"I will get right on it sir!" The instructor did not dare waste any more time. He did not even wait to be dismissed as he ran away to get things done.

Dean William looked at the portal and let out a sigh. "By the goddesses, I hope you two will be safe..."
