A few months passed, and Kana was settling in with her new daily life. Seven days a week, she was in classes learning what she could. Luckily the classes were very interesting, and she had the willingness to learn. If it was not for this fact, Kana would probably suffer for five years due to the rigorous schedule. Only once a month did they get a single day off. The reason why they had to go to classes every day was due to the amount of knowledge they had to learn within five years' time. If compared to earth schools, it would be like shoving grade school, middle school, high school, and college all into five years.

But today was different. Every five months, the academy would send their students out for an entire month into a magic realm. The point of this was for the students to investigate the magic realms. They were to find and bring back any relics they could. At the same time, it served as a means for them to level up at a fast pace as well. While monsters in the Rural Kingdom gave decent experience, it was different inside the magic realms. The monsters there gave almost ten times the amount of experience but were almost much more dangerous.

Why would the academy send its students to such dangerous places when their lives could be at stake? To such a question, there was a simple answer. When trying to gain power, one must walk along the line of life and death in order to obtain it. Nothing came for free. As long as a student crushed their token, they would be immediately teleported out of the magic realm. Only those who were too full of themselves or met with an extremely powerful monster who instantly killed them would end up dying. Every year there are at least ten to twenty deaths due to this.

Now you would think the parents of these kids who died would be upset, but in this world, such a thing was an everyday occurrence. Only nobles might make a stink about such things, but in the end, there would be nothing they can do about it. Dean William was standing in front of the five hundred or so students with a smile on his face. "Today is the day we will be sending you all out to different magic realms for your hunting training. You will spend an entire month inside these magic realms. For those who have just joined the academy, I must warn you not to try to push yourselves too far. If you die, you are dead, and no one will be able to revive you. You will be leaving behind your family and loved ones. So stay on your toes. Even the green colored magic realms are not safe.

"Before you are four magic realms: a green one, a yellow one, an orange one, and a red one. You will pick the magic realm you wish to test your abilities on. If you choose one and find it too hard, you can crush your token and teleport back here. You can then try a lower level magic realm. One thing you should know is that you will be randomly teleported inside the magic realm. So going in with friends and teaming up is not possible unless you are able to meet up. That is all I have to say. I wish you all luck." Dean William said his part and then whispered into an instructor's ear before leaving the portal room.

"Goddess Kana, which color are you choosing?" Kiliffia asked.

"Red. Aoi will be with me as well, so I should be able to handle it. Kiliffia, don't even dare say you will too. Please go for the yellow colored portal." Kana's words made Kiliffia almost choke as she was about to say exactly that.

Kiliffia pouted, but she knew with Kana's strength, if Kana wished to really test her skills and level up efficiently, she would need to take the red colored portal. "I know. Goddess Kana, good luck!" Kiliffia gave Kana a hug before taking a deep breath and ran towards the yellow colored portal to line up.

Kana smiled as she watched Kiliffia running off. She walked over to the red colored portal to find only a few people lining up for it. These people were much older than the other students. Most likely students in their fourth or fifth years. Each one had metal plated armor on and compared to Kana, who only wore her everyday leather armor with the sword Creige had forged for her at her side. It seemed more like Kana was only here to play around.

"Whoa, little lady, it would be best if you went through one of the other portals. Red portals are no walk in the park." A tiger man who saw Kana lining up said. He was not saying this out of spite but out of concern that the little girl was getting in over her head.

"I will be fine. Thank you for your concern." Kana responded kindly in return. The only thing she was worried about was dealing with a cranky water element who had not been summoned in a while.

Seeing how Kana was not going to change her mind, the tiger man let out a sigh and felt it was a pity such a beautiful girl was going to throw her life away. The other people in line only shook their heads without saying anything. They didn't see a reason to try to persuade her not to go to this magic realm. Each person had the right to choose which magic portal they wanted to test their abilities in. They could only hope she could survive long enough to crush her token.

One after the other the line got smaller. Kana was the last person to stand in front of the portal. The reddish watery surface swirled like a vortex. Taking a deep breath Kana stepped through the watery surface. Her surroundings instantly changed and Kana found herself in the middle of a dense jungle. The sound of monsters could be heard all around. But none of this mattered to Kana because in front of her was a small blue figure with puffed out cheeks staring back at her. "Kana, you are so mean!"
