"I am not sure a defensive line will work, Your Majesty. From the fighting that is going on now, this new race of insectoids seems to be highly advanced, nothing like we have seen before. This weapon here is one we pulled off one of their fallen." The elf waved his hand, and a few servants brought over a tray with a long gun on it.

"Hmm… send it to the dwarves and have them examine it. It slightly resembles some of their magi techs. But it is a very big pain if we can not set up a defensive line." Claine rubbed his chin, trying to figure out a short term solution. "We will do this… Have all non combatants use the teleport system to come to Rural. We can at least keep the civilian deaths down while we work on strengthening up the front lines. Do you think the High Supreme will okay this?"

"Her Grace has said she would oblige with whatever plan you can come up with. We are at a loss." The elf elder replied.

"Then let's start with keeping the non combatants alive. The Rural Kingdom will help the land of elves with everything we have." Claine would not let a force that came out of nowhere disrupt the peace they have held thus far. He would not let the elves suffer.

"Your Majesty, words we will follow."

The Elurean Kingdom…

"Ceilie, what is this dump?" Nergal frowned and held her nose as they walked through a slum ridden area.

"It is where I was born and grew up until a human noble took a liking to my mother and dragged her away. It was at that time I came to hate humans." Ceilie replied.

"But you were a beastkin when I first met you..." Nergal was confused. She only saw humans here.

"I was originally human. When I evolved for the first time, I unlocked a hidden class that allowed me to become a beastkin. This is also thanks to Kana." Ceili explained.

"I see... So you were once human. Very strange. I never heard of humans becoming beastkins. Then again, there is not much known about the system's inner workings. Maybe only that old guy could tell us, but he left after being beaten by that scary loli baba. Even your sister Kana scares me. I never thought there were so many powerful people in the mortal world who can take on gods without actually being a god." Nergal now had quite a few people on her: do not anger list. At the top was Camlia, and after that was Kana, followed by Creige.

"Haha, yes, Camlia is scary. But if she is Kana's big sister, then I will treat her like family. Now then we have arrived..." Ceilie looked at the empty lot in front of her. Her house used to be right here.

"Hey, you dirty beastkin, what the fuck are you doing in our human slums!?" A young boy suddenly yelled. He looked no more than twelve years of age.

"Hey, you brat! If I do not teach you a lesson for swearing at my future wife, then my name is not Nergal!" Nergal yelled out in rage, causing the young boy to shrink back in fear.

"Nergal, stop. He is just a kid." Ceilie held on to Nergal's collar, keeping her from going after the young boy.

"Miss, can I help you?" This time an older woman called out to her.

Ceilie turned and saw the old woman, who looked to be around 80 years of age. "Actually, yes, you can. Can I ask you if you remember how a long time ago a family used to live here? They were a young couple with a daughter. The mother of that daughter was very beautiful."

"Ah yes… what a tragedy that was… Lord Simmons people came and did all kinds of bad things that night. I heard the little girl somehow survived by hiding. But I dare not think what would have happened if she was found. The husband died and the woman… well, I prefer not to think about it. Young lady, why do you ask?" The old woman asked.

"Mmm… it's nothing. One more question if I may." Ceilie walked over and handed the old woman a few gold coins.

The old woman pushed the money back into Ceilie's hands: "No need for that, young lady, these old bones are almost expired anyways. Go ahead and ask your question."

Ceilie sighed and put her money back before asking: "Do you know where this Lord Simmons is now?"

"He should still be in the main city of this territory. He kept his position because he did not side with anyone. Be careful though, young lady. I heard there are some powerful people protecting him." The old lady warned.

"I will. I promise. Thank you for your time." Ceilie smiled and grabbed Nergal's hand and walked towards the exit of the slums. She never thought she would come back here. But with Nergal by her side… She found she had much more courage.

"Ceilie, where are we going now?" Nergal asked.

"To kill the man who destroyed my family and everyone one of his kin. I do not care if they are young or old. If they have his blood they will all die. We will gather information first though. I will trace his entire family line back as far as I can. Then I will use them as a sacrifice to calm my parents' spirits. Only then will I feel like I can be truly free of my past."

Nergal hugged Ceilie causing her to stop walking. "I will be with you the entire way. Your pain is now my pain." With these words Nergal leaned up and kissed Ceilie's lips. Causing Ceilie to stand frozen for a while before faintly smiling and saying. "Mm… My pain is your pain and your pain will be mine from now on."
