"That was not bad… A little stringy, but okay. I wonder what kind of monster that was..." Kana scratched her head with one hand while patting her now protruding belly with the other. "I think I ate a little bit too much… Burp! I will take a nap for a little bit."

Kana, not caring about her surroundings, laid down on the nice warm sandy beach and closed her eyes. After eating so much, she felt very tired. In a matter of seconds, she was already in a deep sleep. Aruya appeared next to her and shook her head. She never thought Kana would be so careless. Sighing, she took a seat next to her watching over her to make sure nothing happened to her.

Deep in the forest of the island, screams could be heard as a man held a young woman in his arms as he ran as fast as he could. The woman had already lost an arm and was bleeding out. But the man did not seem to care. "Don't worry, honey. We will get you out. Just hold on."

It seemed the man and woman were married. The woman looked up at the man with warm eyes and shook her head. "I will die before we can get away from those things. I only ask that you live on. Leave me here, and I will hold those creatures off long enough for you to escape."

"I can't do that! You must live on for our daughter. She would be devastated to lose her mother! I can't live without you either!" The man cried. He did not want to die, nor did he wish to leave his wife behind. He couldn't live with himself if he lost the woman he loved.

"Then I will make the decision easier for you..." The woman pulled out a dagger and jabbed it into her neck, and quickly pulled it out. A spurt of blood hit the man's face causing him to stumble and fall to the ground. His wife's body, rolling across the ground.

"What, why!?" The man cried out, he went to get up to go pick up his wife's body, but before he could, he felt a pinch in his leg, and when he looked down to check and saw what it was, he froze. The creature that looked human but walked on its back with its stomach pointing towards the sky and with its head twisted at a weird angle stared up at him as it chewed on something. That was when he looked at his leg to see it was no longer there! It had been bitten clean off. "Ahhh!"

"Goobiieee!"

The strange humanoid monster seemed to get excited, but in fact, it was calling its comrades as more came out of the thick brush and pounced on the man. As the man screamed in pain from getting eaten, his wife, who he thought was dead, actually got up and ran off while her husband got eaten by the monsters! But Karma was not on her side as she ran right into a large spider web that had one of those same creatures, but this one had eight legs on it instead of four. She didn't even have time to scream before her head was bitten clean off. With the death of the husband and wife, that part of the forest once again became quiet.

It was around nightfall when Kana finally woke up from her nap. Her belly had returned to its normal size. Aruya, who was sitting next to her, disappeared before she was fully awake. Kana stretched and looked at the spot next to her and smiled. There were many doodles in the sand of different things from humans, creatures, and even flowers. "If you were watching over me, at least let me say thank you." Kana sighed as she got up and dusted herself off. She looked around and saw nothing but woods and a high cliff off in the distance. "I guess I will make that cliff my base for the time being. "

Jumping up into the air Kana flew off towards the high cliff that towered over the tree tops. There was no vegetation on the cliff top, which was perfect for Kana since fewer monsters would roam around up there. She figured she could dig out a cave to call home for the time being.

Unfortunately for her, her assumption was wrong. The cliff top was covered in these weird creature things. They looked like naked humans walking like a crab with their bellies in the air, but they didn't have a gender, from what Kana could tell. When she landed in the middle of a crowd of them, they all quickly parted, not daring to get close to her. Why this was, she wasn't sure, but since they were scared, she decided not to kill them for the time being. Having a bunch of monsters who won't attack you guarding your temporary base was better than having to set up counter measures. She only needed to keep an eye on the monsters instead.

Kana paid them no mind as she went about her work. She picked the small protrusion out of the top of the cliff to make her new base. After a few punches and some flame breath, she created a small little room with a fire pit and a hole in the ceiling for the smoke to get out. For privacy, she found a large rock to stick in front of the opening. The monsters outside stayed twenty meters away from the entrance at all times. It reminded her of Lizzy's lair in her dream world. It gave her the sense of her suddenly becoming the top of the food chain even though she would never eat anything human looking.

Since it was already dark, Kana lit a small fire and sat in her base, and started conversing with Lysairth again. It had become somewhat of a ritual to contact her every few days to not only let Lysairth know how she was doing but to let Creige know as well since Lysairth would tell Creige what she was up to and then relay any messages he had for her back. She felt it was nice being able to stay in contact like this.
