Day after day passed and Kana fell into a routine. She would undergo a wave then rest. After resting and cultivating for a while, she would do another wave. Each wave was progressively harder than the last. Li Dong did not raise the cultivation realm quickly. He only made the skeletons harder with each wave, and only after about five waves would the cultivation base of the skeletons rise. As such, Kana was able to slowly train herself in mass fighting. She did not use any skills besides her sword. She wanted to use the knowledge that she had gained from her training years ago to refine her combat.

She knew there would be times when she would not be able to use her skills, so being able to fight with a sword alone was the best training she could do at this time. Sadly even as the days passed and she was sitting on the edge of breaking through, she did not seem to be able to break through no matter how hard she tried. She continued to cultivate every time she rested and continued to nourish her skin, muscles, organs, and bones with spiritual qi. This was all she could do for now. The only upside to it all was that this process was making her body very strong. Her already flawless skin now had a luster to it that could not be hidden. She was sure that if the girls saw her skin now, they would be jealous.

After almost six months of fighting, Kana finally got to a level she was unable to handle and had to stop the first trial. Although it was over with, she was happy with the results. Her battle prowess had risen by a lot. She was confident that if she were to fight a cultivator around her power range, she would be able to fight them without an issue, even if she had no techniques. She was even incorporating her dragon form in her fighting, giving her a much greater range in combat ability.

Each time she did rest during this time, she would always return to the hut to find a new set of robes waiting for her. She had to thank Li Dong for his thoughtfulness on this. But she knew he was only treating her so well due to her powerful soul.

Now that her training was over, it was time to continue the trial. Kana walked out of the bone hut feeling refreshed and said: "I'm ready for the next trial."

"Good! You did well during these past six months. For you to be able to combat with qi condensation realmed skeletons that were at stage six with so few injuries is really amazing. Not to mention you did not use any skills. Luckily the next test is a little different. It is the test of the mind. Although I am not sure how well it will work on you." Li Dong truly felt Kana was a good seedling even without her soul. When he was alive, he had seen many cultivators like Kana, but none of them would risk their lives as she did just to train. He thought that Kana was going to die a few times and almost stopped the training, but Kana kept going even with her body covered in blood, cutting down thousands of skeletons.

"No matter what the trial is, I will take it," Kana replied.

"Then let's not waste any more time." With a snap of his fingers, Li Dong disappeared, and Kana felt like her head was spinning. The area turned from a bone covered wasteland to a field filled with flowers. But that was it. There was nothing else. Kana was now confused as to what she was supposed to do.

"I guess I can only pick a direction and hope it is right…" Kana unsheathed her sword just in case, as she did not want to be caught off guard. But no matter how long she walked for, she only saw more grass and flowers.'

Watching from the room Kana first arrived in when she entered the Phoenix Star Temple, Li Dong was watching the scene playing out in front of Kana with a puzzled expression. "Is her mind and soul not bound?"

Li Dong had no idea that Kana's powers were being suppressed by this world's restrictions. He had no idea that part of Kana's mind was restricted from being used due to these restrictions. It was this part of her mind that was needed to do this kind of trial. "Should I reduce the hardness…"

What he was confused about was the emptiness of the illusion Kana was in. Normally it would show many demonic beasts or enemies that would attack them. It drew out their fears and used it to mess with their minds, and only with a strong mind would you be able to defeat those fears. But Kana's fears were locked away by the world's restrictions as they had nothing to do with this world. Even if Kana told people who she truly was, they would forget it instantly. Only her soul was an exception.

Li Dong waited two days, and only by the morning of the third day did he decide this trial was going nowhere. With a wave of his hand, Kana reappeared in the main room. "The trial of the mind does not work on you, so I can not test your mental fortitude. As such, I can only say you pass. All that is left is the trial of the soul, but I do not think it will be an issue for you even if I used the hardest mode for it."

Hearing Li Dong say the trial of the mind did not work on her made Kana frown. She had hoped she could at least experience the trial. "Well, let's do the trial of the soul. Even if it is easy for me, I still wish to experience it."

"Then I will take you there. The place for the trial of the soul is different from the other two trials as it needs a special item in order to undergo.." With a wave of his hand, Kana and Li Dong once more disappeared from the room.
