When they entered the classroom, there were not many people in the classroom. The staff showed their place. Then she left.

The people in the classroom consisted of three women and 4 four men. One of the men approached them with a smile. Yu Qi assumed that he was the teacher who would teach them. And her assumption was correct.

"Welcome to our pottery class. Have you tried the pottery before?" The man, Gu Hao, greeted the newcomers into his class.

"Hello. It is our first time. Please teach us.." Yu Qi said.

"Okay... okay... I assume that you must be a couple, right?" Gu Hao said.

"Yeah." Yu Qi nodded with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"I bet so. It has becomes so popular among the young couple to try the pottery together." Gu Hao gave a small laugh.

After that, Gu Hao started to explain the pottery to them. The basic things for making the pottery were clay, pottery wheel and kiln.

There was three types of clays that could be used on making the pottery. Stoneware clay, earthenware clay and porcelain clay, these three clays were used for different purposes and had their own methods as such their firing temperatures as well as water absorption and shrinkage percentages.

Since both Yu Qi and Long Hui were the beginners, Gu Hao suggested that they could use the stoneware clay because it was most versatile and easiest to work with. It also came in a variety of colours from white to dark brown.

So, Gu Hao showed the methods to mix the clay with the water properly. After showing it to them, Gu Hao gave the chance to the couple to try by themselves.

Yu Qi mixed the clay and the water. On her first try, Gu Hao told her that the mixture had over water. So, Yu Qi needed to start again. She did the process a second time.

Meanwhile, for Long Hui, he successfully mixed the mixture very well on his first try.

"Brother Hui, you probably have talent in the pottery." Yu Qi chuckled.

Long Hui just smiled hearing the praise given by his fiance.

The next step in the pottery was to make the shape of the clay. So, they put the clay on the pottery wheel. It was possible to not using the pottery wheel however, without it, the shape could be limited.

Using the wheel pottery, the maker could unleash their imagination on making the shape of the clay.

Yu Qi and Long Hui wanted to make a Japanese teacup and a vase. Both of them would exchange their creation among them.

Since the shape of the Japanese teacup was simple, they were done fast. So, they tried to make the vase then. Yu Qi imagined the shape of the vase that she made in her mind, before instructing her hands to make it.

It was fun. Yu Qi looked at Long Hui. He looked so focused on doing his pottery making Yu Qi wanted to tease him. With the clay on her hand, she poked Long Hui's face.

When Long Hui turned to her, the clay was right on his cheek making his face looked nothing changed. He looked more handsome with the smear on his face. Yu Qi laughed.

"Brother Hui, you are handsome even with a smear on your face." Yu Qi said.

Long Hui wanted to reply back. So, when Yu Qi was laughing, he also smeared her forehead.

"Now we can be called even." Long Hui chuckled.

The people in the classroom looked at them. They were thinking that the couple indeed had a good relationship. They felt that they were given the dog food while attending the pottery class.

The one who was still single sighed and wanted to find the partner. While the ones who had their partners but was not here wanted to go back to their partners.

After playing with each other for a while, they were back on making their pottery.

Within two hours, the couple managed to finish their own creations. Gu Hao explained the next step. The drying process. The clay needed to dry first before putting them in the kiln for firing. The drying process was important to make the pottery stronger and protected the pottery from exploded inside the kiln.

Usually the clay was be put let drying witihin 7 days but the technology nowadays was good. It can put a less than a bone dry piece of ware on a long preheat in the kiln. Some potters will do an overnight preheat at less than 212F.

The next step was the longest step on the pottery making which was firing. The clay needed to be put inside the kiln.

Kilns were a type of oven capable of producing temperatures high enough to fire things like pottery and bricks. It simply dried the clay and turned it into ceramics once done.

The clay was usually been fired twice. The first firing with its another name, bisque fire, took around 8-10 hours. And the second, or glaze firing took around 12 hours. So, in total, it took about 22 hours to fire clay in a kiln.

So, the pottery would be finished within three days. Yu Qi and Long Hui could not take them before that. Gu Hao told them there was a policy in their pottery class that they could come and take the pottery within two months. After two months, uncollected pottery could not be claimed and would be their property.
