Chapter 1265 The Chubby Young Master
Ning brought out an umbrella and stood by the port while Byron tied up his little boat to the side. He had to tie it up well so that it didn't drift away on its own.
As for stealing, he wasn't worried about that at all. Anyone that would want to steal this little thing of his would have to be blind to not see the hundreds of better ones that were far easier to steal.
"Can't you keep your boat inside your storage artifact?" Ning asked. "Or is there not enough space?"
"Brother, there is barely enough space to put anything other than the hammer and anvil inside my storage ring," he said. "I would have to pay a fortune to get one that could fit this entire thing.""I see," Alex said. "Is it expensive? Those storage artifacts. Given how many people I've seen them with, I had thought they were cheap around here."
"No, the smaller ones are cheap for sure, compared to what I hear they cost in the other empires, but as the size increase, the price increase exponentially," he said. "I would have to sell all the weapons in my shop and then my shop to afford the size of storage you just asked me about."
"I see," Ning said. "Not that you can sell them anyway, isn't that right?"
Byron gave a small smile full of grimace before walking under Ning's umbrella. "Let's return," he said.
Ning nodded and walked along.
The city had not come to a stop with the rain. The people of the city were already used to it and were accepting of it.
The beasts pulled carts, that people rode around. Others just walked. The businesses were still open, functioning perfectly in the rain. Even the fish market by the port was in business in the rain, with the fish being kept in ice that someone created using Essence.
"By the way, did you leave your daughter alone in the hotel?" the man asked.
"No, she's out doing something. I don't know what," Ning said.
"You don't know what your daughter is doing? That's…"
"Irresponsible?" Ning asked before chuckling. "Don't worry about my daughter. She is strong enough even without me."
"Oh," the man said. "Is that beast with her?"
"She is," Ning said.
"Ah!" Byron finally understood why Ning had let his daughter be alone in the city. Or at least he thought he did.
They arrived back in the shop and Byron walked on with Ning following him. Halfway through the shop, Byron stopped and turned around. "Why are you following me?" he asked.
"Hmm? Why can't I follow you?" Ning asked.
"No, I just… I taught you everything I knew. I thought that was our agreement. I teach you and I get the crystal," Byron said.
"Oh! You're right," Ning said, looking around. "I forgot I was done with it all. Why did I follow you here?"
Byron couldn't help but snicker a little when watching a godlike man be forgetful, just like anyone else.
"Anyway, I will leave then," Ning said. "Thanks for teaching me everything—"
"BYRON!" a loud voice called out the man.
Ning stopped speaking when he heard that and looked in the direction of the shout. There, he saw a chubby man in his 30s quickly walk into the shop while pointing at Byron.
Byron frowned when he saw the young man. "What is it?" he asked the newcomer.
"You little bastard! You should tell us when something good comes by the shop," the man spoke.
"What? What are you talking about?" Byron asked.
"The Lightning Crystal," the chubby man said. "I heard you went to make a sword with it already. Where is it?"
Byron frowned and eyed the staff around him. They had leaked the message? He shouldn't have been careless.
"I have it," Byron said. "I indeed managed to make a sword out of it."
"Amazing!" the chubby man said. "Cousin, you are a genius. Where is the sword? Give it to me already."
"I won't," Byron said. "It is my sword."
"What? No, it is the shop's sword, and I own the shop," the man said.
Ning managed to understand the identity of the fellow that had just arrived. 'The mayor's son huh? Doesn't look like he has had to ever work a single day in his life,' Ning thought. 'How is he barely in the Essence Manifestation realm with all the resources he must have? That too with a Water core.'
It was obvious that this man was lazy. The only time he ever put in any effort in his life was probably on the toilet to shit all of what he ate the other night.
"It may be your shop," Byron said. "But neither the Lightning Crystal nor the Sword ever belonged to the shop. As such, it was never yours at any moment. I am the sword's sole owner."
The chubby man thought for a bit and shrugged. "Fine take that sword," he said. "But make me another one. One that is stronger than yours."
"I can't," Byron said. "I don't have lightning crystals."
"Just ask that man that you encountered," the chubby man said. "I was told there was someone that brought out two Lightning Crystals. I'm sure he has more."
"Are you talking about me?" Ning asked.
The chubby man turned around. "Hmm? You are the one with the lightning crystal?" he asked with a doubtful look.
"Yes," Ning said.
"Hmm… Why are you so weak?" he asked.
Ning had switched to his Sound core and as a result, the man saw him as a weakling.
"Doesn't matter," the man said. "Just bring out one of the lightning cores you have and I shall compensate you for—"
"Young master!" a man came rushing into the shop. "Young master, are you here?"
He walked in and stopped when he saw the chubby man.
"Why are you shouting in the shop? It's unsightly," the chubby man said.
The man that rushed in finally saw the chubby man and said hurriedly.
"Young master! Your father has been injured."
