1477 Decision

Nearly 2 months after leaving Tony, and going around the world to see a lot more kingdoms and cities, Ning brought Tim and Jasmine to find their next treasure.

The next treasure was a whistle, which Ning got after defeating a monster that protected the whistle. After getting the whistle, he let Tim look at it through the Book of Treasures.

Whistle of Elements/Whistle of Summoning/Sound of Summoning/The Summoning Call

A Whistle that allows you to either gain the power of an elemental spirit or summon the spirit itself.

There are exactly 7 elemental spirits you can choose to summon.

Aeritha - Air

Pyrodon - Fire

Aquara - Water

Terranis Earth

Electra Electricity

Solaris - Light

Nox- Darkness

Should you choose to just gain the powers, you will gain all the properties of the spirit, including its skills, resistances, immunities, and vulnerabilities.

If summoned, you will gain the powers for exactly 2 hours. You can dismiss the power any time you want, but you cannot summon another power until the 2 hours have passed.

Should you choose to summon a spirit instead. You cannot use any of the other spirits until you have dismissed the summoned spirit.

The spirit can only last for 20 minutes each time it is summoned, and the same spirit cannot be summoned for the rest of the day.

The book went on to give more information about the 7 elemental spirits and what their immunities and vulnerabilities were.

"Which one of you wants it?' Ning asked the two.

Both Tim and Jasmine spoke at once, cach shouting incomprehensively, just trying to get their words in, regardless of whether Ning could hear them or not.

Ning sighed once again, realizing it was bad of him to ask them in the first place. This is good a treasure, they would never let it go in the first place.

Ning let them argue amongst themselves for a while before he realized what the solution was.

"Give it to me." He took the whistle, which was on a string now, and tied it around his neck like a necklace. "Let's go find the next treasure. Once we get it, we will decide who gets what:

The two stopped bickering like children now that they understood that gaining this treasure meant losing the next one. They had to see what the next treasure did before they came to the decision of whether they wanted this one or not.

Ning took the submarine through treacherous paths, to a distant location. 3 days later, they arrived at a place in the deep sea in the middle of the night, the mist before them lightened up only through the headlights at the front of the submarine.

They all stared through the screen to the outside world and waited until they saw a glimpse of the monster. Ning saw black scales coming out of the mist for a second as something slithered back into the mist. "There it is," he said. "I'll be right back"

He teleported out of the water and fought to kill the monster.

By now, neither Tim, not Jasmine were surprised at anything he did. If they didn't know better, they would've already thought Ning was the incarnation of the God Zurinus.

But he wasn't. He was the man who was going to kill the god. Or so he said.

It wasn't the killing part they doubted, but the part where he said he was a man. They doubted he was a man. In their best estimate, Ning was a being similar to Zurinus.

They sometimes wondered if Ning had come to take Zurinus' place by killing him, but seeing his nonchalant nature, they doubted he had any grand motive like that. He didn't appear shrewd by nature at least.

Ning returned back into the ship, grabbing in his hand something golden and rectangular.

Jasmine narrowed her eyes in surprise. "A notebook?" she asked. "We have two books now?"

"I'm sure it doesn't do what the Book of Treasures does," Tim said.

Ning tossed the notebook toward Tim. "Check it out and find out."

Tim nodded and quickly brought out the Book of Treasures before opening a blank page to place the book on. As soon as he placed the book on it, he activated it and a bunch of text and illustrations appeared on the page.

Notebook of Information/Book of Guardians / Book of Spying

This book allows a person to write the name of anyone they are concerned about. If the name of the person is correct, the book's page will then show information about the subject.

The book will give information about the person's life. Allows one to see where they currently are and have been, and lets the person see if they have any illnesses or diseases.

It also allows the owner to know what emotions the recorded individual is feeling.

There are a total of 240 pages you can write on, each of which can be filled with a single name.

The recorded person can be erased from the book easily with just a thought to empty up a page. The same name cannot be written twice, even by mistake.

This was an incredible book for a person who wanted to keep an eye on someone else, whether it be a guardian or a spy wanting information.

"This... this is exactly up your alley!" Tim told Jasmine. "You should take it. It will come in handy for someone who wants to run an orphanage."

Jasmine frowned. It was true that it was very useful for her, But at the same time, she wanted the whistle that could create elementals and use magic.

She was torn.

She thought for a long while, especially given that this was the third and final treasure she would be receiving from Ning. She had already received the Pen and the Healing Vial, so with this Ning would've fulfilled his promise of giving her 3 incredible treasures.

Jasmine sighed deeply as she came to a decision.

"I will take the Book."
