Qrox stood still, waiting for the golem's master to come out. But no one showed themselves, and instead, the golem charged at him, swinging a sword.

"You fucking coward!" Qrox charged forward and parried the 2-meter sword with his light-blue trident that seemed to contain water-elemental power.

But before they could get into close range, the golem showed something shocking. It raised its right sword, and six large fire javelins shot toward Qrox.

Qrox did not expect that the golems would have range capabilities, so the six fire javelins plunged deep into his body, and penetrated through the back.

Frowning, he gritted his teeth and expelled six fire javelins out of his body.

"Impressive," Aldred said. "Other Gold Ranks would surely die after that attack."

Aldred had fought against the golem, and he was the one who created it by hand, so he knew its power was nothing to scoff at. Even Elite Gold Rank would be in great pain after being shot by six fire javelins enhanced with Epic fire-elemental mana crystal.

Billowing with a powerful life force coming out of his body, Qrox raised his trident and rushed furiously towards the type 2 fighter golem.

"Waste no time, kill him," Aldred commanded.

The standing type 2 fighter golem blurred into motion, and for a moment, it looked as if it disappeared from sight. It appeared before Qrox, and mercilessly hacked at him.

Qrox raised his trident to block.

Ding! An ear-ringing, metal-against-metal sound rang in the jungle. Qrox's face turned pale, as he retreated a few steps. His arms were strained from the impact.

"How can a golem be this strong? This is impossible. Only a Platinum Rank golem master can make something like this, and it will consume a lot of resources to keep it running!"

What Qrox said was true. Golems were generally hard and very expensive to use. They require a lot of mana crystals as a source of energy.

And it also depended on the quality, materials, weight, speed, and other stats that affect how much mana it consumed to run.

In an intense battle, a golem could only fight for 2-4 hours. And in some cases, it could only fight for 30 minutes.

Some mages used a mana-draining spell to quickly make the golems run out of mana.

Meanwhile, Aldred was very impressed by Qrox's power. The type 2 fighter golem's blade was two meters tall and was made out of powerful materials. Not to mention it was also powered by an Epic-grade crystal.

For Qrox to block that attack was an impressive feat.

The golem, however, was not impressed. It was unfeeling and emotionless, and only able to obey orders. If Aldred told it to kill Qrox, then so be it.

The golem took a ferocious step and slashed at Qrox with the enormous blade.

Roaring, Qrox erupted with a powerful life force and exchanged a few rounds of strikes with the type 2 fighter golem.

"Commander Qrox!" The lizardmen cheered for him.

The type 2 fighter golem relentlessly pushed Qrox back. It swung the two blades in the same direction and slammed Qrox with it.

Qrox belched a mouthful of blood as his body crashed onto a tree.

The golem put the two giant blades on his back, and then clasped his hand, pointing at Qrox was still stuck in the tree.

Suddenly, the two crystals on the cross-guard of the sword shone, radiating magical light. The light entered the golem's back and went to its arms.

A glowing hole opened up on the clasped hands, and then it fired.

BOOOOM!

What Qrox saw was a powerful flame and wind vortex that crashed toward him like a dragon. The vortex penetrated and engulfed half of the tree trunk, and went even further.

The lizardmen could not believe it. They were astonished by the result.

"Commander Qrox... is defeated?"

The type 2 fighter golem turned around and pointed with its index finger. That was when all hell broke loose.

A fierce tongue of red flame spewed out of the finger as thousands of fire bullets were coming straight toward the lizardmen.

The lizardmen tried to run away, screaming in panic.

One fire bullet slightly grazed a lizardman by the arm, tearing his cloth. For a moment, he thought that he would be safe until flames ignited from the cloth and engulfed him completely.

"There's no escape," the golem said with a hoarse, emotionless voice.

"It can talk?" Shagatik raised an eyebrow.

"All of my golems can actually talk, but they are not very talkative."

Aldred's reply intrigued Shagatik, but he quickly forgot about it and watched as the lizardmen were being slaughtered.

The golem raised the other hand and aimed with its finger. This time it was shooting air bullets.

One lizardman got shot in the shoulder. A hole punched through his shoulder, but less than a second later, it exploded his whole arm.

"Ahh!" the man screamed before a hole punched through his head, and exploded like a watermelon.

Blood spilled all over the jungle along with blazing flames and heat.

None escaped.

"We won the battle in the east," Shagatik said excitedly.

After confirming his victory, Aldred sent the Second Battalion toward the west and ambushed the enemy from the back.

Dozens of explosions occurred in the forest, and flames were blazing high with smoke billowing into the sky.

"We surrender!" lizardmen raised both of his hands and shouted only to be destroyed by the hail of fire bullets.

"What are you doing? He surrendered to us," Shagatik said to Aldred with an annoyed tone.

"We don't have plans to take prisoners of war, nor do we have time for it. If you want to win, be ruthless to your enemy, and in the future, your enemy might just surrender simply by hearing your name."

"When that happens, we keep them alive?"

"Of course. We will give them rights, homes, food, and shelter. This way, your enemy will be more prone to surrender before we even send our army."

Shagatik nodded happily and watched the massacre ensue.

After defeating the enemy, the two battalions regrouped and sprinted together toward Setboker City.

Soon after they arrived, they were greeted by thousands of lizardmen on top of the wall with longbows, pulled to the max, pointing at them.

Trebuchets and cannons were ready on the back of the wall, while the lizardmen had prepared a thick defensive perimeter behind the gate in case the golems break in.

And on the walls, lizardmen with long spears were ready to attack if the golems tried to climb.

But what was weird was the three lizardmen standing side by side 20 meters away from the wall. The three of them crossed their arms and sneered while looking at the golems like they were weak 5-year-old children.

"So these are the golems. They don't look that strong," Brath, the warrior said.

Breth used his magic staff to scratch his crotch. "They defeated Qrox, so they must have something."

Using the string of his bow to clean the gap in his teeth, Broth replied: "When can I begin shooting?"

Aldred frowned. "Who are these three lizardmen?"

Shagatik bit his lips in fear. "I thought they were sent to the capital. This is bad."

"Why is it bad?"

"They are the Three Lizardmen Brothers."
