It had just happened.
King Alexander had stepped down from his position, and his sister would become the next queen. All the politicians criticized Alexander and his companions. The entire country stood up against them.
Why were they trying to suppress someone who hadn’t done anything to them? When did the UK become such a cowardly country?
They cleared the SS-rated gate to save London. They should be thankful. That was what the people thought about the whole thing.
The king surely crossed the line this time. Lee Hwan was the only one who accepted their request and came to help. What kind of dirty play was this?
In addition, Alexander was not capable of maintaining his position. He had taken his place when he was just sixteen. He had made a lot of mistakes and showed a rude and unpleasant attitude to everyone. What he did would just bring harm to his country.
The British people thought that their king might just bring their country to ruin, so everyone stood up against him. They had had enough.
Because of this, King Alexander felt in danger of getting killed. He resigned to keep himself alive.
Russell, as well as Sophie, led this revolution. Of course, Sophie was confident.
“I don’t know what to say.” She was talking to Jeong Gi-Hoon. “I understand. Everyone knows the master’s value.”“…I deeply apologize. Did he mention anything else?”
Lee Hwan let Jeong Gi-Hoon do everything. He could still recall Lee Hwan smiling and eating nachos in his room. However, he was not a fool, so he gave her the best answer.
“He didn’t mention anything else… But he wasn’t feeling well. He hasn’t left his room.”
What Jeong Gi-Hoon said was true. Lee Hwan hasn’t left his room today, but that was just because he was watching TV. Sophie didn’t know that, and that was why she trusted Gi-Hoon.
“…I’m sorry. Would you allow me to apologize to him privately?”
Jeong Gi-Hoon smiled and shook his head. “There’s no need for that; I’ll let him know. Anyway, shall we talk?”
“About what?”
“The reward, of course.”
Sophie nodded. She was the president of the Hunter authority in the UK’s department. Jeong Gi-Hoon told her what he wanted, and Sophie proposed a compromise.
She made a reasonable suggestion, and so did Gi-Hoon.
“Three billion dollars and a private yacht. I can also see that you are requesting the land of Fistral beach. Is that for a mansion?”
Fistral beach was a well-known spot for surfing.
Gi-Hoon had requested land over there and Sophie agreed, but she was curious about its use.
Jeong Gi-Hoon answered. “We will use it either as a mansion or a training area. For now, it’s more likely to be a mansion.”
“I see. Also… are you serious about the soccer team?”
Jeong Gi-Hoon burst out laughing.
To be honest, he really was serious. Lee Hwan’s level was way above other Hunters. This can be his side job. Since he liked soccer, it was a good opportunity for him. It would be more like a hobby.
“He meant it, but just give us some teams that are about to fail. We’ll train them with the right procedure.”
That was the right way to compromise. The hero of London was buying a soccer team. That would have a more positive effect.
They continued signing documents as papers and files piled higher and higher on the desk.
Eventually, it was settled. Jeong Gi-Hoon would report this to Lee Hwan, and Sophie would report this to the prime minister.
Meanwhile, a plane landed at the airport.
“Ah, the smell of the sea.”
Raul Albanes.
The strongest Hunter in the world was stretching after his flight to the UK.
***
The resignation of the king and the punishment to those who followed him all happened in just one day. They also knew that this was just the start.
Lee Hwan’s value was now skyrocketing. He has now cleared two SS-rated gates by himself, taking only a day for each. In addition, he brought several burdensome Hunters with him but still managed to clear the gate. Furthermore, his brother was the Manifester Lee Ho.
It was like a buy one, get one bargain. If they cultivated a nice relationship with him, they could save their people.
The change of the king and members of MI5 were just the beginning. These days were not like the past. Fools will fall and intelligent people will rise.
Andrew Coleman, one of the royal’s main forces, knew that he would be replaced as well. That was why he was obsessed with doing something. He needed to achieve some accomplishments, and he had a brilliant idea.
In that SS-rated gate, King Arthur had appeared, the legendary hero of the UK.
However, F-rated Hunter Kim So-Eun had gotten the Excalibur. How could such a weak person get the greatsword like that?
He could take Excalibur from her. He was an S-rated Hunter and worked as a leader of the Royal army. If he could retrieve Excalibur and wield it, he can maintain his position.
He headed to the hotel and found Kim So-Eun and her team members. He approached her.
“Do you know the legend of King Arthur?”
So-Eun knew English, but she couldn’t use translation skills. Luckily, she could answer his basic question.
“Yes.”
Andrew continued to talk.
He was telling her that the legend of King Arthur was more like a myth to the UK, so he was asking Kim So-Eun to donate Excalibur.
He had made what was, in his mind, some sort of great speech. Yoo-Jeong translated it for her.
However, So-Eun’s answer was simple.
“No.”
Andrew frowned.
He told her that she was just an F-rated Hunter. It was dangerous for her to hold such a powerful weapon. He offered to give her other artifacts.
While she was translating his words, Yoo-Jeong frowned. Of course, So-Eun frowned as well. It was natural for her to do so.
As he saw her upset reaction, Andrew smirked.
“Know your place, miss. You are just a useless F-rated Hunter. That weapon is not for you.”
It was clear that Andrew wanted to fight with her, so Kim So-Eun stood up.
King Arthur had been an impressive person. He knew that Lee Hwan was stronger than him, but he still fought as a swordsman. He kept his pride and died with glory. He was a knight and a rightful king. That was who Excalibur’s previous owner was.
She must be like him.
Even if she was just F-rated and the opponent is S-rated, she wouldn’t hold back.
As she raised her right arm, Excalibur came to her. That was Excalibur’s second ability.
“Let’s make this easy. Why would you choose to fight? I’m a gentleman, you know.”
Everyone could clearly see that he was not the gentleman he was claiming to be and that he was calling for a fight. If he were to get attacked first, then Lee Hwan won’t be able to say anything. That’s what he thought.
Andrew used his aura to suppress her. He was S-rated, and So-Eun was still F-rated, after all. The pressure made So-Eun’s body heavier.
She frowned and clenched her teeth.
As he got closer, she swung Excalibur with maximum effort.
Andrew could see the sword, and, to him, she was moving too slow. He didn’t think much of it. A single snap of his fingers would be enough. He raised his arm, aura emanating from it. He wanted to beat her down completely.
As they collided, Excalibur touched his arm. In an instant, Andrew realized that something was not right. It had become very massive. He felt that physics was betraying him. His arms were heavy, and his back was in extreme pain. His muscles were screaming, and his aura was cursing.
Crash!
Andrew was pushed back.
Everyone saw what happened, and the entire building shook.
It was impossible for an F-rated Hunter to make an S-rated Hunter collide into walls like that. There was a stunned silence.
However, to achieve that devastating attack, So-Eun had to pay with something.
So-Eun fell to the ground, her blood gushing in rivers.
Her entire face was bloody and her arm had completely disappeared.
This was the penalty for her attack. If one must use that much power, they had to sacrifice something. Excalibur was dropped to the ground.
Kim So-Eun clenched her teeth. She could feel the blood inside her mouth, but she didn’t care.
From now on, this was how her life would be. She would not hide or run away. She would not live like a fool. Kim So-Eun wanted to die like a warrior, as Arthur Pendragon did.
With her left arm, she picked up Excalibur and struggled to get back on her feet.
Slowly, her body was regenerating. New bones and skin were forming over her injuries. It was a slow process, but that was not an issue.
She was ready to use Excalibur’s third ability, and that was the moment Andrew got back on his feet.
He was bleeding all over as well, his right arm broken. In addition, his abdomen was severely damaged. That happened since he had tried to block Excalibur.
In the blink of an eye, three things happened simultaneously.
The first thing was that Andrew decided to kill her. The second thing was that he rushed toward her, hoping to fulfill that purpose.
Everyone could see that Andrew was launching an attack to kill her, but before his attack reached her, someone grabbed his hand.
This was the third thing that happened.
It was Lee Hwan, his face scarily cold.
He was not smiling like his usual self. The three women knew what that meant.
It was the face he had made when he killed Merlin.
“What the hell is going on?”
