Looking at the rather worn out Shui Qianqian, Rong Jin said calmly, “My queen, rest well. I shall leave.”

His steps were light as he left as swiftly as the wind. Shui Qianian spaced out as she watched him leave.

She felt all her energy leave her body all of her sudden, and she collapsed onto the bed, coughing incessantly. “Cough, cough…”

Rong Jin was still nearby as he stood in the corridor. Hearing the coughing from inside, he warned the servants guarding outside, “You have to take good care of the queen. If something happens to her, you will lose your job.”

“Yes, sir!”

Hearing the prime minister’s orders, they definitely didn’t dare to defy him.

In Country M, the queen might seem to be calling the shots. However, in reality, she didn’t hold any power at all. The prime minister wielded all the authority, and he was in charge of making all of the major decisions for the country.

Nevertheless, the prime minister still reported everything to the queen. She didn’t mind nor care, and never once asked him about it. Even so, the prime minister still continued to update her.

As her subordinates, they didn’t understand the relationship between the queen and the prime minister. They merely knew that they had to take care of the queen and to never slack off.

After all, the queen was the only one left from the royal family. If she were to die, the palace probably wouldn’t exist anymore. Country M would perhaps reform, and its citizens didn’t want that to happen.

Even if the queen wasn’t as capable, they would still serve her loyally.

Rong Jin stood by the door for a moment before he strode off.

After washing up, Shui Qianqian sat on the bed. Covering her face, tears trickled down in between her fingers.

She really didn’t like this place at all. She wanted to leave, but she couldn’t do it. A horde of people, including her guards and servants, would follow her wherever she went. Therefore, she wanted to just vanish without a trace. That, however, would be impossible.

She remembered that she had still maintained her old habits when she had just arrived. She wolfed down her food and spoke loudly, inviting sneers from her servants.

But she didn’t care. That was who she was. If they didn’t like her, they could just let her go.

When she turned fifteen, she had left the palace to pursue her studies. Yet, she had no choice but to return when she turned eighteen.

She was reluctant to come here, as this place meant nothing for her. She had always thought that everything here belonged to her elder sister.

The person that everyone loved was her elder sister, and she was merely the odd one out. It was only in other countries that she felt warmth from other people.

If her elder sister hadn’t passed away, no one from the palace would’ve thought of her!

She felt a sense of belonging only when she was overseas.

After she returned, she still yearned to go back overseas. However, someone told her that she was meant to be the queen. If she were to insist on going overseas, she would only hurt the people there.

Therefore, she stopped having that desire. But, the true reason that made her stay was him!

Rong Jin! That breathtakingly handsome man. When she was fifteen, he had already found his way into his heart. However, she lacked confidence and didn’t dare to approach him back then. She could merely look at him from afar.

During that time, he wasn’t the prime minister yet. He was merely the young master of the Rong family.

She tried her best to conceal her feelings, but someone still found out in the end. She was then sent away.

When she returned at eighteen, he had become the prime minister. She recalled that when she threw a fit and insisted on leaving, he had come over to her and counseled her.

Everyone thought that she had been moved by his words, but only she knew that she wanted to stay because of him. She wanted to get closer to him slowly.
