Yun Bilu had never seen this side of Huang Yize before. Cool and dominant, he stood stealthily against the wall, emanating an aura of danger and security. She could feel her heart jumping out of her chest.

Shrill screams and gunshots were coming from outside, and she knew that there must be many gunmen. She didn’t know who they were and where they were from. Why did they choose to attack and wreck this game building?

No matter how uneasy and frightened she felt, she tried hard to compose herself. She told herself over and over again that it would be all right. She was the strongest and most hardworking girl.

After calming herself down, Yun Bilu stood up and asked Huang Yize, “Do you have another gun? Give me one.”

Huang Yize turned around and stared at her. His admiration was evident in his eyes as a gentle and odd look flashed across his icy gaze.

Being stared at by such a gaze, Yun Bilu grew more courageous. “I… I used to shoot too, but they were just games where I aimed at targets. I probably can do it too.”

His gaze changed as he asked, “Aren’t you afraid?”

Her heart thumped, but she answered with determination, “I’m not.”

Looking at how Yun Bilu had gathered her courage, the corners of Huang Yize’s lips vaguely curled up, revealing a rare hint of a smile. A glint also flashed across his eyes as he passed a gun to her. “Try it.”

Yun Bilu’s eyes almost jumped out of their sockets. “This… Is this a real gun? Are you really giving it to me to try?”

Huang Yize saw how Yun Bilu was handling the gun at that moment, and his heart stirred. It was as though the scene before his eyes was what he had hoped to see and feel deep down. Perhaps he secretly wished for his other half to offer him this kind of feeling.

“There’s nothing you can’t try. As long as you dare to, I’ll let you try them.” As he spoke, Huang Yize’s eyes quickly darted towards a dark corner—he noticed someone shooting. All of a sudden, a shot was fired, and that person collapsed on the ground with a muffled thud, blood gushing out of his chest.

Yun Bilu’s eyes widened as her heart pounded intensely. Did that person die just like that? The gunman was a distance away, and Huang Yize hit him precisely with a single shot. He was dead in an instant.

Even though she behaved like a little boy since she was young, it was her first time experiencing such a situation. Her face paled, and her palms started to sweat.

Huang Yize saw Yun Bilu’s nervous and terrified expression, and he pulled her to his side to protect her. He then shook her rigid body slightly and said, “Bilu, listen. This is a force working secretly, and they are out to destroy intentionally. There’s a lot of innocent people outside, and if we don’t deal with these gunmen, there will be a lot of casualties. This is inevitable, and we have no other choice. It is not about shooting or not shooting. Do you hear me?”

Yun Bilu finally snapped out of her shock. She raised her head and stared blankly at Huang Yize. Seeing the encouragement and worry in his eyes, the panic she felt in her heart vanished instantly. She tightened her hold on the gun and wiped the sweat off her other palm on her dress. “I understand.”

Huang Yize smiled in relief. He knew that she was smart and understood things easily.

Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot rang nearby. Huang Yize embraced Yun Bilu and escaped. At the same time, he fired with one hand while holding Yun Bilu’s hand with the other. Both of them held their guns and fired.

Their aims were incredibly accurate. A couple of gunmen hiding in the dark were shot right in their chests as they collapsed on the ground.

Yun Bilu was startled. It was her first time witnessing such a fighting scene, and to top it off, that bullet had been fired by her. In the past, she wouldn’t even have dared to think about doing this.
