Yun Bixue caught up with Xie Limo and said, “Let me help you.”
Xie Limo looked at Yun Bixue trailing closely behind him and paused in his steps. Lowering his head, he whispered into her ear, “I told you that I won’t let you step foot in the kitchen. Be good now. Didn’t you say that you miss Grandfather? Keep him company. Once we leave for Tian Jing City, you won’t be able to see him until we return.”
Yun Bixue’s heart trembled at his words, and her gaze was glinting enticingly. She knew that Xie Limo understood her well. Sometimes, he understood her feelings better than she did.
Yun Bixue knew that even if she were to enter the kitchen, Xie Limo would still chase her out, so she obediently went to find Grandfather to keep him company.
Aunt Zhou sat by his side patiently, looking peaceful and serene. She could tell that Aunt Zhou took great care of Grandfather. Retrieving two tablets from her bag, she gave them to Grandfather and Aunt Zhou. “Grandfather, these are for you and Aunt Zhou. You can play chess on it. I’ve also installed several applications for you, so you can play some games together. It’s very simple.”
Old Master Yun was staring at his chessboard when Yun Bixue handed him the tablet. Looking at the electronic version that his granddaughter offered him, he realized that there were even poker and other games.
Old Master Yun stared hard at the tablet in his hands. “Really? Why haven’t I heard of these before?”
“That’s because they’re new, Grandfather. Guess who invented this?”
Old Master Yun excitedly scrolled through the games on the tablet. He opened up all kinds of apps, just like a little child. Chuckling, he asked, “You’re keeping me in suspense. Hurry up and tell me.”
“Grandfather, a gaming genius from my Organization invented this. They are games specially designed for the elderly. They haven’t been launched yet in the market, but I showed them to you first.”
Old Master Yun smiled lovingly as he said, “My granddaughter is so filial.”Seeing her grandfather’s bright smile, Yun Bixue felt a sense of accomplishment. As part of the younger generation, she was able to win the praise of the elder folks. It felt really great to be able to cheer her family member up.
Yun Bixue then sat beside Aunt Zhou and taught her how to play on her tablet.
At first, Aunt Zhou still showed some reservations, so to make her feel at ease, Yun Bixue talked about interesting events from Grandfather’s past. As she listened, Aunt Zhou let down her guard and began to learn from Yun Bixue.
After a while, the three of them were happily playing games on the tablets.
Xie Limo kept himself occupied in the kitchen. Hearing the laughter coming from the living room, a gentle smile appeared on his face. He was happy as long as Yun Bixue was happy too.
When dinner was ready, Xie Limo came out with the dishes. Seeing both of them having fun, he said, “Grandfather, Bixue has been missing you. She especially got someone to design these games targeted at the elderly because she was afraid that you would be bored. From now on, you can play these games to pass the time.”
Old Master Yun answered in a cheerful voice, “Yes, that’s right. I really enjoyed them. Now that I have this tablet, I won’t feel bored when you’re not around.”
While they ate, they switched on the TV and watched Ning An City’s news. The opening news was about the business meeting earlier.
When Yun Bixue saw herself on the TV, she was a bit surprised. She didn’t expect that she and Xie Limo would look great on screen. She said to Old Master Yun, “Look, Grandfather! That’s Limo and me. Did you see it?”
“Yes, yes. Where are my glasses?”
Aunt Zhou hurriedly put on his glasses for him. When he raised his head and saw his granddaughter and grandson-in-law on the screen, he waved his hands in excitement.
Yun Bixue picked up a piece of fish for her grandfather and patted his back. “Grandfather, your granddaughter is pretty, isn’t she?”
“Yes, she is very pretty. You’re the prettiest woman in here,” said Old Master Yun as he chuckled.
