chapter-421
"Of course. As long as it's in my capacity, I have no problem in doing a favor for you, Your Majesty," Tristen said in a sincere tone.
The little king pressed his lips together before finally saying, "Can you please take my sister away from here? As long as Lord Shade is here, she is not safe."
"Your sister?" Tristen asked with a raised brow while Damien knew the little king had a sister who was 15 years old, but she didn't have any power in the kingdom nor any appealing aspects to make her status more powerful than just a princess.
In other's eyes, she was as good as invisible, and even Damien didn't know anything else about her other than the fact that she was the little king's sister.
The little king nodded and said in a wistful tone, "She has a certain condition because of which she is dying and probably won't even live long enough till next year. But Lord Shade is asking for her for some reason which I know wouldn't be for anything good. Right now, she has locked herself in her room and threatened to commit suicide if Lord Shade comes anywhere near her. That is why he is staying away for now and asking me to convince my own sister to give in."Damien knitted his brows, wondering if this girl was some kind of beauty, and Drake being the typical young master, probably wanted to toy with her in his free time.
He sighed, thinking that this was what happens to even royalty the moment they were overpowered by someone stronger.
This only made him think that the longer Drake was in command, the more headache he would be causing.
Damien was confident about taking on Drake as long as he had Valentina with him since she had kicked his ass before, and she could do it again as well. However, it would require Valentina to fight him in her true form since Drake was at least at the first level of the Sky Ethereal Realm and was no pushover.
But if it was Drake alone, he wouldn't have worried about taking him down. However, it was because of the other silver masks he had under him with cultivations, all at least at the Earth Ethereal Realm and even some at the Sky Ethereal Realm, that made him be in a dilemma.
He was sure that the Forsaken's strongest cultivators helped take over this kingdom and then left after letting Drake supervise whatever operation was going on here.
Tristen replied, "Of course, we could. But I doubt Lord Shade would let us leave with your sister without any objection. If we have to do it, then it should be discreet. I can get her away from here and send her someplace safe till things settle down. But I bet Lord Shade wouldn't be pleased either way, and you might have to face some heat from him. Are you prepared for it?"Damien wanted to let the little king know how risky of a favor he was proposing, and even he had no idea how he was going to exactly pull this off when the whole place was surrounded by a very powerful barrier that couldn't be easily broken through, especially not by himself.
The little king didn't even hesitate as he said in a determined tone, "Yes...My sister does not deserve to live like this...especially not during whatever days she has left. I want her to be happy as much as she can rather than be harassed like this. I know I am only a king in name, and even as her brother, I don't have enough strength to help her, which is why I am wholeheartedly pleading Prince Tristen to please help her out as long as you are okay with it. I know I shouldn't ask for such a favor, especially not from a powerful prince like you. So if it's something that will cause you trouble, then no need to worry about it."
The little king was continuously fiddling with his fingers, wondering if this prince would be willing to take the risk though he thought that he was probably going to get refused since no one would go far enough to help someone else in trouble, especially someone like Tristen who was an imperial prince and had his own things to take care of.
He knew Tristen was here to recapture the kingdom and convert it to one of the Gale Empire's kingdoms though he didn't care about it as long as he could get Lord Shade to somehow leave.
He anxiously looked at Tristen, who had a very thoughtful expression and could see his hesitation, making him even more worried that his sister wouldn't have peace.
Damien wanted to confirm if Drake indeed lusted after the little king's sister since he wondered if Drake would go so low to want something like that with an ill girl who probably didn't have many days to live.
Still, he knew how twisted this world was and that there were no limits to what people corrupted with power could do, just like Denissa and Roy.
"Alright. I won't give any promises, but I will try my best to see if we can do this while making sure no one gets hurt. But first, can you let us see your sister first if she's okay with it? We want to talk with her and see whether we could come up with a plan since we would definitely need her cooperation if she wants to leave from here," Tristen said as he rubbed his chin.
Damien spoke, "Yes, Your Highness is right. If things are to go smoothly, we all need to be on the same page. So what does Your Majesty think?" Damien asked with a narrowed gaze.
The little king happily smiled with sparkling eyes as he said, "Really? That's great! I will let my sister know and ask her to meet you two. In fact, let's go visit her right now."
