chapter-466
Damien, Yuria, and Valentina greeted the little king with a courteous bow. However, the little king noticed that there was an unfamiliar face behind Godnim. He could recognize Alena as the closely trusted maid of Godnim but not the other girl who looked like any other ordinary girl he might see when passing by the streets.
However, he knew that any girl that was near this man couldn't be ordinary since he saw how powerful and talented Alena was when she took them out of the palace during the battle.
So he couldn't help but ask, "May I ask who this fair lady is?"
"Oh, she is Miria, another one of my trusted confidants from my hometown. She is here to call me back, and so I decided to let her tag along since I can trust her with my life. I hope you don't mind," Damien said as he introduced Yuria under a different identity.
The little king waved his hands, "Of course, not. I see you as a friend, Godnim. So your friends are my friends too, hehe."Damien smiled, seeing that the little king now seemed more happy and jolly like any other kid of his age. Only by seeing him like this Damien realized that the little king was a kid who never had the luxury to behave like one but was forced to be mature for the sake of his kingdom and sister.
He knew he helped them for his own sake, but at the same time, he felt satisfied that in the end, they were happy too.
After exchanging a few pleasantries, the little king asked the trio to follow him to where the sacred weapon was resting.
While walking, Damien said with apparent surprise in his voice, "Your Majesty, I never thought the treasure would be in an underground location. Is it to prevent other interested parties from snooping around?"
The little king smiled and explained, "It's not on purpose. When my father first saw it falling from the skies, he said the weapon punctured through the ground because of how much power and force it carried. He told me that he felt like it might cleave the earth into two halves but was relieved to see that it finally came to a rest after traveling for some distance through the ground. So my father decided to build an underground chamber to safeguard this treasure since he felt that if others knew about it, there could be bloodshed through our lands, and he would never want that."
"So this divine weapon, nobody can move it from its place? Not even the senior who was standing above?" Damien wanted to know if these people had already tried using powerful cultivators to move the weapon.
"Oh, my father did try a lot of methods to move the weapon, but it was all futile. He couldn't even touch the weapon, let alone come within twenty meters of the weapon. The powerful aura radiating from it made him feel like his whole body might implode from the pressure he felt when trying to get close to it. Thankfully he wasn't power-hungry enough to risk his life and get closer to it," The little king said though his expression became a bit woeful thinking about his late parents.Damien's brows pulled together as he asked, "Can I ask what Your Majesty's late father's cultivation was?"
The little king answered after a moment, "He was at the Peak Level of the Heaven Ethereal Realm. Even though he was not the strongest king, he was strong enough to gain dominance in the surrounding regions. The only king I know who is more powerful than my father is Princess Yuria's father, the Krisen King. Apparently, he is the only king in the Gale Empire who is said to have entered the Profound Ethereal Realm, and that's why I am not surprised by the Krisen Kingdom's power and status."
Yuria couldn't help but proudly smile from behind, hearing the little king praising her father and her kingdom. It was not that she had not heard enough praises from others, but when someone like the little king praises with sincerity, it feels different.
Damien wasn't surprised to hear about Yuria's father, but he gulped, wondering how even a Peak Heaven Ethereal Realm cultivator was unable to come within twenty meters of the sacred weapon.
This was the first time he was hearing about such a dangerously powerful weapon that could make a king wary enough to not approach it due to the safety of his own life.
"Luna, what do you make of this?" Damien decided to ask the expert.
"First, let me take a look at it. I don't want to feel disappointed if these guys were simply hyping up a Prime Grade weapon. Simple mortals like these people could treat a dung falling from the skies as a precious ethereal stone. So better to wait and see," Luna casually said with a yawn, making Damien shake his head in amusement, seeing how she downplayed a Prime Grade weapon just like that.
After all, a Prime Grade weapon stood at the top among all mortal weapons.
The underground chamber was quite long, with many doors in between that had defensive and even offensive ethereal formations to prevent intruders from entering.
This only showed how careful the little king's father was about safeguarding this treasure.
On the way, Valentina and Yuria were mentally conversing with each other about various things, especially about their curiosity about what kind of sacred weapon it was.
Finally, they came upon a large dark red door in the shape of a semicircle with sandstone murals on it which Damien couldn't make sense of, not that he was too much curious about them.
"This is it...Behind this door, the sacred weapon rests about fifty meters from the entrance since any closer, and even I can't enter because of the pressure that seems heavy as a mountain…" The little king said with visible tension in his eyes as he unlocked the ethereal defensive formation.
