"No, my children. I can't come with you. I have been bestowed with the sacred duty of protecting our people…a duty that my forefathers followed too to protect you all. If you all request me to run and hide while putting you all in danger, then I would not only be disrespecting myself but my forefathers too. Do you all want that? If not, please get to safety along with your children," Irene said with a tired sigh and was speaking to them as their fellow person, despite her status and her power.

She didn't even break the news of Yohr's betrayal to them since she was sure they wouldn't be able to handle it as well as her, especially not in this situation. But she could already hear them speculating about what happened to Yohr if the entire place was going down.

The Zirians all lowered their heads in sadness, helplessness, and shame that they were too weak to help their mother at the time of need. They didn't even try to tell her to escape first since, as Irene said, it would be no different than insulting her and everything she did all these years to protect them.

So they decided to follow their children to the other side, who were still getting into the teleportation circle group-wise.

The children were being teleported first, but the teleportation circle was only big enough to transport three people at a time in a time interval of five seconds since its activation would take up some time after transporting each group.

And the total number of Zirians amounted to at least five hundred in this base. So everybody knew that a good number of people wouldn't make it, and most had already accepted their fate while conveying their goodbyes to their loved ones.

However, most had volunteered to stay behind and let others escape, especially the children and the younger ones among them, while most of the elderly decided to stay behind since they didn't want their descendants to perish for nothing but instead remember this day and get vengeance for them one day.

"Where is Reva?" Irene asked Shania, who had appeared before her with a worried expression.

"I don't know. I had been searching all over her but didn't find her. Maybe she left along with Damien?"

Irene shook her head, "No…just a while ago, she warned me about the fail-safe, and knowing the kind of girl she is, she wouldn't just run away. That is not her way. She is still here along with Damien, if I am right. We can't lose her. She is the only one who has inherited a divine being's legacy. If we lose her, then we would be losing this war forever," Irene said with trepidation in her voice, but at the same time, it was the concern for the safety of her granddaughter, other than as the protector of the Zirians.

Since the icy cave had various chambers with special doors, Irene's senses wouldn't pass through them since they were made by Yohr himself.

"Please don't worry, senior. Reva isn't a girl who would do anything stupid. I am sure she must be doing something to help us all…What if…she is working on something only she can do…like deactivating the failsafe? Only his divine self or someone who had inherited his legacy can do it…Oh my god…she is going to try and deactivate it until time runs out…" Shania mumbled in realization.

"No! That stupid child! I am going to get her out of here myself," Irene tapped her staff, and she immediately turned into a mist of water, disappearing further into the cave.

If Damien had seen her transform into a mist, he would have been awed by how she physically transformed herself like that. But in reality, her body had not transformed into anything but merely her powerful speed left behind a trace of her ethereal energy, which she exerted to use her movement art.

Meanwhile, Damien and Reva had reached an inner chamber that was locked behind a door, but they were able to open it up with a droplet of blood from Damien, much to Reva's surprise since it meant that Damien somehow inherited Yohr's legacy as well and it was obvious to her based on how Damien's appearance including his body had undergone drastic improvements.

There was an otherworldly air emanating from every single inch of his body and an aura that seemed as strong as iron.

She had no idea how he managed to take the legacy of a true god by force since Yohr wouldn't be that kind to hand it down.

"Shit…this is one of the largest formations I have ever seen. This thing extends throughout the whole chamber. How do you suppose we destroy this thing. There are barely four minutes left now, and this thing seems to be powering up from its own energy reservoir. It seems like Yohr took extra measures to make sure the bases get destroyed but not the teleportations circles that could help people escape. As expected from a backstabbing dick," Damien couldn't express more of his anger towards Yohr for betraying these poor Zirians while also putting him and his woman in danger.

Reva also couldn't help but clench her fists, but her eyes were continuously scanning around as she suddenly spotted something and said, "We don't have to destroy this formation. It's impossible. But we can cut off its energy flow before it gets fully powered up. Such a large formation surely needs a lot of energy, and that is why it takes twenty minutes to activate and not that Yohr was kind enough to buy our people enough time to escape."

Damien was relieved to hear that and asked, "Okay, but how?" He could see a large icy circle powering up around the chamber, and water-like ethereal energy flowing through it was glowing with an azure shade.

"We have to freeze the energy at its source, and only you can do it right now," Reva said with knitted brows.
