chapter-637
"Haa…why do good things always come with a price?" Damien sighed as he looked up at the skies.
He was now glad that he didn't use Shadows of Time when Reva suddenly got pulled into that pocket space. If he had, then he might have put Reva in danger in some way.
"Wait a minute…if this ability is taboo to use, then what use does it have for me? I am sure Anti-God wouldn't keep a useless ability in his arsenal, or was he immune to the consequences?" Damien voices his doubts to Luna.
Luna shook her head as she said, "Don't ask me how or why he had this ability. But what I can say is that you can use this ability as long as it doesn't break the heavenly order. Still, don't keep using it. Otherwise, you might draw heaven's attention."
"The heavenly order? What's that?" Damien asked with knitted brows."The natural order which the universe follows. Life, Death, and Rebirth. Creation and Destruction if we are looking at it from a bird's eye. So if you save someone who was supposed to die, you are breaking the natural order there, and the heavens will get noticed due to how much of a big deal it is. At first, it may not seem like a problem, but if you keep doing it, one day it will be too late before you realize that you fucked up," Luna said as she rested her back against the air like some wise master.
Damien was too busy thinking about what she said to not notice that she just used a swear word.
"Well, I guess then this ability of mine is not much use to me. What a pity…" Damien felt as if his day was suddenly plunged into disappointment. Still, he wondered if he would use this ability again if a situation like the one he faced with Valentina was to repeat again.
Luna slowly descended down the air as her feet touched the ground and said as she looked at him, "You are the only one with such an ability. Others don't have it, and that is why they learn from their mistakes and move on. You should do the same as well instead of needlessly worrying about the future or the past."
Damien felt as if Luna had a point and softly smiled as he looked at her ethereal figure, "Sigh, you always guide me in the right direction whenever I take a wrong turn. I don't think I can ever live without you," As he said this, his eyes were deeply gazing into her otherworldly eyes.
Luna's eyes fluttered when the atmosphere between them took such a sudden turn. She felt strange undulations in her soul but didn't want Damien to notice anything.
So she placed her hands on her hips as she slowly levitated herself till her head crossed Damien's height, "Is that really true? What if I keep on staying inside your soul, and the moment it becomes powerful enough, I absorb it? I have to admit you have been growing stronger faster than I expected. It only tempts me to absorb your soul at some point."Seeing Luna's evil smile, Damien chuckled and said, "Then I will just have to come to terms with it."
"That's it? You won't be angry or mad?" Luna found his answer a bit surprising, though at the same time, she didn't feel surprised.
"Why should I be? I wouldn't be here, nor would I be alive, if not for you. So I owe my life to you, and that is why I said you shouldn't leave me. Who knows how much stronger my soul could get?" Damien said with a playful wink.
Kalypso, who was sitting inside his soul plane, could feel some subtle tension between these two and be yet again impressed by how her Master had the guts to not even leave the supreme goddess alone.
Still, she couldn't help but pout seeing their interaction.
Luna crossed her arms as she narrowed her eyes, "Hmph, you think I don't understand what you are doing? How bold of you! To think that you are trying to court me like your women who are blinded with love. It seems I have been too lenient with you and misunderstood my concern for something else. You better forget it."
"By concern, you mean making sure I am alive? But if that is the case, then you didn't have to warn me about the consequences of using the Shadows of Time ability, especially by mentioning how dangerous it could be for my lovers. Why would you care what happens to them? I think we both know why," Damien said with a knowing smile.
Luna's eyebrows twitched for a moment before she snorted, "You are just thinking too much about it. If something happens to them, you will fall into despair and stop growing strong. And that is not something I want. Anyway, I am going to go take a nap. So don't disturb this goddess unless you are going to die."
Saying so, Luna immediately turned into a flash of light and went into his glabella.
However, Damien still had a faint smile since, for the first time, Luna ran away to not face any more of his questions. Even though on the outside she appeared indifferent to the things he said, he just could feel certain things about her in his heart.
He knew that he was just a mortal, and that was something that was forcing him to see Luna in a different light all this time. But now, he just couldn't hold himself back for some reason.
He was feeling a weight in the chest, which lightened whenever he talked to Luna, and with her by his side, it was as if nothing was impossible for him.
However, suddenly his brows raised, and he got pulled away from his thoughts upon sensing that someone had entered this island and was heading towards him.
