*SNAP!*

All the black veins snapped at the same time as the nethereal energy within them was thrown into chaos after Damien exposed them to his Anti-Energy.

The black tendrils that were trying to attack him also suddenly fell down and slithered backward till they disappeared.

But all this was too taxing for Damien as he collapsed on the floor with a pale face. He could hardly feel any energy left inside him and felt incredibly dizzy while his vision was blurry.

Kalypso transformed back into her human form as she worriedly rushed towards her Master, "Master! Are you alright??"

"Y-Yea…Relax…I am just…tired…" Damien mumbled with a weak smile to reassure Kalypso, though he was starting to feel better already as not only did his natural recovery ability kick in, but also the death aura in the hall began to rejuvenate him.

"Don't worry about him but worry about what you promised me. Or did you forget that, little spirit?" Luna asked as she caressed her pretty long nails.

Kalypso puffed her cheeks in annoyance and regretted making such bets in the first place. From what she learned so far, making bets with Luna was like making bets with a fox.

She also remembered that Luna had never been wrong about anything, and even if she tells Damien something that might seem foolish and life-risking, in the end, her advice works out.

Despite feeling annoyed, Kalypso also felt awed by Luna's quick thinking and brilliance. But she thought it was probably because she was the supreme goddess.

"Fine, fine. I will apologize a hundred times, but only one apology per day," Kalypso said with a defiant look.

"Fair enough. Since you are my assistant, I will let you off this time," Luna said with a smirk.

"Hey! Who are you calling your assistant? The only one I would be assistant for is my Master, hmph!" Kalypso said as she put out her tongue to mock Luna.

"Is that so? You see, Damien is my assistant. He works for me. So that means you work for me as well," Luna said with a smug smile while feeling amused by Kalypso's reactions, making her want to provoke her even more.

"Y-You dare think of my Master as your assistant? Master, look at this silly—" Kalypso turned to Damien to complain about Luna but sighed, seeing that he fell asleep to recover faster.

Luna shook her head with a smile, though she took a good look at Damien's face as she mumbled, "You always defy my expectations, mortal…I can't wait to see how much more you can defy them."

Meanwhile, on the outside, the guards were patrolling the perimeter of the region that was filled with death aura.

None of them dared to go inside since even by simply standing dozens of meters away from it, they were still feeling chills across their body and a congested feeling in their chest.

However, some of the experts stationed there had their brows raised upon noticing that the land plague was no longer spreading like before. In fact, it seemed like it stopped all of a sudden.

All of them were surprised and couldn't help but feel immense relief since the whole thing had been plaguing their minds as well.

They immediately informed their superiors to make sure the emperors would receive the pleasant news.

However, they still didn't tell the guards to move out since there was no guarantee this was over, especially since they still didn't understand why the lands were even dying like this.

Within five minutes, Damien woke up, feeling normal and fully pumped. He was astonished that the death aura could help him recover so fast despite burning himself out.

"I have to get back to them. They might be getting worried," Damien mumbled as he looked up and shot off like a jet, breaking through the roof before taking to the skies.

The guards outside were too distracted with what was going on while the experts couldn't even spot Damien even if they looked up. Only someone stronger than them could see a faint jet-black streak passing through the skies.

Damien smiled as he realized that with his current inhuman speed, not even Ruthren could catch him. This should be enough for a battle of attrition.

If he had to gauge his power, he felt that he should be at least nearly as strong as Elor, though his experience couldn't be compared to him, of course.

And there was also a big difference in their realms. Damien knew he still couldn't manifest his ethereal manifestation like the Profound Ethereal Realm cultivators, and that would be a huge advantage for Ruthren if he went up against him alone.

"Is Damien alright? It has been a while since he went to take a look. I know his speed is incredible, and that's why I thought he would be returning pretty fast," The Lancaster Emperor asked the three women in front of him since they had been waiting for a while.

His first thought was that Damien probably got captured, but he received no such reports, and thus he eliminated that possibility, and that only left him more confused unless Damien was doing something else.

But the report he got about the plague suddenly coming to a halt was quite astonishing. He couldn't help but feel that maybe Damien had something to do with this, especially after he told the news to the three of them as well.

"He will be alright, Your Majesty. He certainly must be the reason for you to get the happy news," Yuria said in a tone of confidence.

Lily and Reva couldn't help but glance at each other, but Yuria looked at the two and, with her eyes, conveyed to them that nothing would happen to Damien.

*Whoosh!*

Suddenly a jet black streak whizzed into the building as the three women had relieved expressions upon seeing their man arrive.

"Damien, how did it go?"

"Your Majesty, you might have already received the news but I think I have bought enough time for you to not cooperate with Ruthren anytime soon," Damien said with a smile.
