chapter-681
"What??"
"No way are we going to let you go out alone."
"Damn right. We are coming too."
The three girls immediately voiced out their protests before Elor, Leon, or Irene could even say anything.
Lily cupped her hands as she placed them on her chest, "I know Ruthren is stronger than me and not somebody I should fight. But he not only killed my ancestor, but he also had an army outside. We can at least help you hold off his army. Don't worry. I have never felt this urge to fight against someone and make sure my ancestor didn't die for nothing," Lily's voice was soft, yet one could feel her firm determination to see to it that Ruthren gets what he deserved."Lily is right. You will surely need our help. We know you are the strongest among us but facing Ruthren's army is a different deal. I know it because I have personally seen it," Reva said with crossed arms, her hands clenched into fists, eager to shed Ruthren's blood for killing most of her people.
"Even if he didn't have an army, it is only right you let us join you in punching that shitbag to death," Yuria said as killing intent momentarily flashed in her eyes.
Damien realized that his wives were all riled up to draw blood. Most of them in their shoes would be too sad and broken from despair to fight back.
It was also safer to just stay here instead of going out to fight, but for him, they were ready to join him.
"Girls, calm down. If Damien said he has a plan, then we should first hear him out, hm?" Leon said with a gentle smile as the three of them awkwardly looked away, realizing they even forgot to hear out Damien's plan and got distracted by his last sentence.
Seeing that they calmed down, Damien quickly explained his plan to them. As they listened, all of their expressions turned into one of astonishment and disbelief before turning into worry, especially those of his wives.
"Will you really be alright?" Reva asked with a look of worry, not because she thought Damien was incapable but because what she just heard was too hard to believe, especially the fact that he would come out of this without anything bad happening."What I want to know is this the only plan that has the best chance of all of us getting out of this alive? How about a plan where we all can help you. We just have to formulate a plan together," Lily suggested with wrinkled brows. She was feeling a bit paranoid, especially since Damien was the only remaining family she loved more than herself. She didn't want to leave anything to fate.
Irene chimed in, "Yes, Damien. We know you can do things we can't comprehend, but this is Ruthren and his imperial army. My hands are literally itching to cut his head off, and we surely can fight to the death if needed, especially after what we lost today. Ruthren and his army can't surely match our battle spirit."
"No…it's fine. Damien's plan makes sense. I don't want to admit it, but it is the best chance we got," Yuria said with a heavy nod.
"Also, don't forget. As Damien said, we cannot kill Ruthren today, especially since he came prepared, but our objective is to escape from this island before Ruthren corners us to death," Elor said with his hands behind his back, though he felt it extremely frustrating that he cannot kill Ruthren already.
Seeing the charred remains of his people was making his blood boil, but for the sake of whatever people he had left, he couldn't afford to lose his mind to rage.
"That's right. And once we escape then, we can regroup in any one of the other three empires and call together the temporary rulers of the three empires and convince them to go to war with the Xeton Empire, which they surely will after learning what Ruthren has done to our beautiful continent and that their empires will collapse as well if they don't do anything," Leon confidently said and continued, "Ruthren and his empire wouldn't be able to defeat the combined battle strength of the three empires. Even if on the off chance his empire wins, his empire would no longer be an empire."
Lily, Reva, and Yuria glanced at each other as they softly nodded at Damien with a hint of reluctance. Based on his plan, they can't go along with him even if they want to.
Damien felt how badly they were worried and hugged all three of them as he whispered, "Remember…You three and Valentina are the reason I will make sure I come back. Don't forget that."
Meanwhile, on the outside, Ruthren was standing high up in the sky while looking down at the single large formation on the ground, which was the gateway to the island he had trapped everyone in.
Still, since it had already been a while, he furrowed his brows as he wondered why he was not seeing anybody, especially Damien. Based on his calculations, except Damien, all others, even Elor and Irene, should have succumbed to death already.
And as per his expectations, Damien should have already charged out in rage after everyone had died, and then he can quickly finish him off.
Or could he have possibly…
Suddenly his mind got distracted as he saw the formation lighting up while his army immediately put up their guards, ready to kill whoever was coming out of the formation.
They numbered around 500,000. All of them were the best cultivators among their peers. Nobody was weaker than the Sky Ethereal Realm, while the strongest were even in the Profound Ethereal Realm.
Of course, this wasn't even the entirety of his army since he had other uses for the rest of his imperial cultivators. But he felt that this should be enough to kill a few injured weaklings that managed to survive.
*SCREE!*
*HOWLLL!!*
The screeches and howls of wild ethereal beasts echoed in the area as dozens of them sprang out of the formation as they charged toward Ruthren's army while Ruthren watched on with a confused look.
What kind of nonsense was this?
