chapter-77
In Lily's inner courtyard,
Damien had just finished teaching Lily for today when Lily asked, "So, you must have heard of this recently famous Alchemist Azrael right?"
"Yes, of course. I have heard a lot of whispers around the servant quarters. Why did you suddenly ask?" Damien probed.
"Nothing, it's just I was curious about this mythical Supreme Tier Pill. Do you think the difference is really big compared to Top Tier Pills especially when it is a Supreme Tier healing pill?" Lily asked as her eyes flickered with a hint of anxiety.
"Hmm...the difference is pretty big. Well theoretically, It's like heaven and earth when you compare a Supreme Tier Pill with a Top Tier Pill. Are you planning to buy a pill from this Alchemist Azrael?" Damien asked with a intrigued expression."Well, I have a meeting planned with him. But I don't know what kind of a person he is. In fact, nobody knows about his identity. Actually, he is the one who requested to see me though I have no idea why. I just feel a bit off about his request." Lily said as her brows knit together.
'Is she thinking that I requested an audience with her to simply waste her time?' Damien wryly smiled inwardly thinking that since he knew the reason why most people wanted to see or talk to her.
After all, which man wouldn't want to have a glimpse of the Celestial Princess and try to obtain her favor. What if the Celestial Princess took a liking to them?
Damien chuckled, "No need to think too much. From the rumors I have heard, they say that his skills are the real deal and no one had any complaints after procuring his services. You just focus on getting what you want and ignore everything else. It's as simple as that."
Lily focused her gaze on Damien, "Seems like you have a very high opinion of this Alchemist Azrael. I wonder if it's because you admire him as he's the first person in the world to concoct the mythical Supreme Tier Pills.
"Ahem, yeah, you could say it like that." Damien wondered if he bragged too much about himself.
"Then, do you want to come with me? I am sure you would be happy to get an opportunity to meet with such a talented alchemist. Who knows, maybe he might take a liking to you and take you in as his disciple. I will also put in some good words for you." Lily asked earnestly.'Ah...Lily, I appreciate it but now is not the right time to be concerned about me.'
Damien wanted to say his thoughts aloud but he quickly came up with an excuse, "I appreciate that you want to help me but I can't meet such an exalted person like this. I need to first make a name for myself and prove myself that I am worthy of even becoming his disciple."
Damien hoped that his excuse was satisfactory because the last thing he wanted was Lily to persuade him to meet his alter identity.
Lily narrowed her eyes and slowly nodded thinking that what Damien said made sense but she still felt that something was off since she didn't expect Damien to be this humble.
Over these weeks, her view of Damien had undergone a slight change. At first she thought he was still playful like his childhood self. But as days passed, she felt a strange aura of confidence surrounding him as if he was ready to take on the whole world which was not present before when she first met him during her childhood.
His eyes...his smile...his words; Lily felt that each of them carried a glimmer of pride and cool-headedness that would make one feel a sense of reliance on him. She didn't mind that change but instead felt a faint attraction to it.
As such when Damien made that promise to help her, she strangely didn't feel that he was making an absurd promise. Somewhere in her heart, she felt that he would be able to fulfill it no matter how logically ridiculous it seemed to her.
As an imperial princess and with the halo of Celestial Princess, she had met different kinds of people over the years and thus learned to be perceptive about others.
She felt that the Damien standing before had tinges of pride and confidence imbued in his very bones that she didn't expect him to be so modest. But she didn't think too much about it thinking that maybe Damien didn't want to be looked down upon by Alchemist Azrael.
After all, she had no idea whether Alchemist Azrael was the kind of person who wouldn't even take a glance at Damien. She thought it was better this way lest Alchemist Azrael hurts Damien's feelings or his ego.
Lily gave a soft smile and said, "It's fine then. I am sure there will be a day when your name will become as famous as Alchemist Azrael or maybe even more in another way."
Damien heaved a sigh of relief inwardly thinking that Lily bought his excuse and said, "I know. I hope you are able to get whatever you want from Alchemist Azrael."
——
It was afternoon and in the drawing room of the Rong Imperial Palace, a hooded figure clad in black cloak was sitting on a palatial armchair, sipping an exotic tea while admiring the elegantly maintained room.
When Olivia Rong told Lily about Alchemist Azrael requesting an audience with her, she didn't surprisingly refuse which Olivia Rong didn't expect. But what she didn't know was that Lily was already planning to somehow meet with Alchemist Azrael for her own reasons.
Soon the doors opened, and a graceful figure of a young girl walked in like a celestial goddess without even giving off even the slightest sound of her steps. Her blue full skirt dress wasn't extravagant but was of noble simplicity.
However, when one catches a glimpse of her black eyes which twinkled brighter than the stars, they would without doubt feel that there couldn't be a more beautiful scenery than her own eyes.
Even though she had a thin veil covering the lower half of her face, it only gave off an airy aura instead of shrouding her beauty.
Damien saw Lily entering and was surprised how beautiful she looked even though she didn't put on any makeup or clad herself in an extravagant dress. Seeing the veil on her face, Damien felt that it only made her beauty look more extraordinary.
He put the tea cup back on the table and slowly got up and greeted, "Alchemist Azrael greets Your Highness."
Lily raised her brows upon seeing his strange disguise. But she then gestured to him to sit down and sat down opposite to him.
"Alchemist Azrael, I am pleased you wanted to meet me despite your busy schedule. But before we talk about anything else, may I know why you requested an audience with me?" Lily asked in a polite tone.
