Chapter 57 – Rotten to the Core (坏透了)
The tables near Ye Qing were already full of people, leaving no seats available. Once she finished talking, she purposely swept her eyes across the two tables and expressed her regret, “Aiya, there aren’t any more seats… How about this, I’ll ask someone to add two more chairs and you can sit behind everyone. You can just ask someone for help if you want to get something to eat.”
“We don’t need you to trouble yourself. I think your tables are already quite packed. If there are any classmates that feel uncomfortable, I wouldn’t mind inviting them to sit with us,” Jing Yunzhao walked forward, glancing at Ye Qing, showing no semblance of fear.
Jing Yunzhao was originally already tall and refined. And today, she changed into a new outfit, one unlike her unsophisticated style of dress that she usually wore. Her whole appearance was clean and unblemished, adding on to her confident aura, it was as if they were looking at a Young Miss that came from a wealthy family. Her way of speaking, however, made Ye Qing feel a hint of pressure.
“All of us here are honest and straightforward people, you also don’t have to be so pretentious anymore. You said you reserved a table? Then why don’t you tell us where it is? What’s more, even if you had reserved a table, what proof do you have that it wasn’t Xiao Haiqing who paid for it? Everyone knew that Xiao Haiqing’s family are well to do, she would definitely have the ability to do so,” Ye Qing brought up.Jing Yunzhao facepalmed, she really had nothing to say to this Ye Qing.
She may be young and was allowed to have areas where she would be immature. However, with her family in such a critical state, she was still able to pretend that nothing was wrong. It could be seen that her innate character was rotten to the core.
Jing Yunzhao also found it too troublesome to continue with the conversation, so she flagged down one of the waiters walking past, “Could you lead us to the Star Room please?”
“Understood,” smiled the conscientious waiter.
There were many box rooms within Tian Xiang Lou, and the interior of each box was exquisite. The atmosphere on the second floor was mostly more romantic. The third floor was mostly used for family gatherings and formal events, while the fourth and fifth floor were where some merchants or politicians would go. They wouldn’t allow just anyone to enter, there was a certain privacy to it. Above that were the hotel rooms, the higher one goes, the better the service and environment.
(T/N: In Chinese restaurants, they have individual, private rooms available. They are called “box rooms” 包厢)
The room was reserved by Xiao Haiqing. Because there was only the two of them, she specially chose one with a more elegant environment on the second floor. Also, once one opens the curtains in the room, they could also see the happenings on the first floor.Jing Yunzhao’s gaze as if she were looking down on her made Ye Qing extremely angry.
However, she thought about it and her anger quickly dispelled. They still had to wait for the end of the dinner party to see whether or not Jing Yunzhao had the money to pay for it.
She humphed lightly and flipped her head before she sat down once again. “Everyone, just ignore them, let’s eat first!”
These students also had a standard of morality. They felt that even with Jing Yunzhao and Xiao Haiqing, there wouldn’t be a big difference, just that this was still Ye Qing’s birthday. No one would want to cause Ye Qing to have a stroke of bad luck. They just thought of it as giving her face.
Ye Qing immediately asked the waiters to serve the food. Within a short time, dish after dish of intricately plated food was served. The scent of the food from Tian Xiang Lou was definitely the best, attracting everyone’s attention. Who would still remember the unhappy events of before? They quickly started celebrating.
At this moment, Jing Yunzhao and Xiao Haiqing had also arrived at Star Room. Jing Yunzhao felt herself relax the moment they entered the room.
Star Room was themed slightly on the darker side, below their feet was transparent glass and below the glass was filled with a starry sky. It made one feel as if they were walking above the stars. The same view was projected on all four walls as well, making it look like they were within a fantasy. It was truly beautiful.
These kinds of rooms were more unique and what mattered was the diners’ spiritual enjoyment, thus the prices were also higher.
Xiao Haiqing’s expression was apologetic as she hurried over to Jing Yunzhao with a smile, “Yunzhao, this room requires additional payment…”
When she was reserving the room previously, she had never thought of having Jing Yunzhao pay. Even though Tian Xiang Lou had plenty of rooms, they had even more customers. It would be quite difficult to change rooms.
