Chapter 354 - "There is no way I will leave him, get it?" (2)
“Aunty Lin! Aunty Lin!
“Hurry and bring us a new pair of slippers please!
“And some disinfectant as well.”
Huo Wencheng was furious.Mother Gu, to one side, was stunned as she watched the events unfolded.
This was the very first time she witnessed her daughter interacting with her… son-in-law.
“Shishi, you and Young Master Huo have a good relationship.”
Mother Gu’s hand that was clutching her purse tightened a little before she stopped Huo Wencheng, who was about to say something, and started talking again
“You are pretty and he is handsome. The two of you make a good couple together. Shishi, you have married a good husband.”
Huo Sishen had already been pushed down onto the couch by Gu Shishi and, for some unknown reason, had a cup of hot water shoved into his hands as well.
There was a somewhat… complicated look on him.Hearing what Mother Gu was saying, he looked up at her.
She now looked less annoying than she did before.
What she had just said made him happier.
He was going to have Siyi tossed the two of them out earlier, but now… perhaps he would let her talk for a little while longer?
Huo Sishen was never one to force himself into doing something that he didn’t want to do.
Quickly, he gestured the cancellation of having the two tossed out.
Siyi, who had come running over, stopped to one side and was baffled.
Mother Gu, on the other hand, was pleased that her words seemed to be working better than Huo Wencheng’s.
It would seem like the two of them were still respectful to their elders.
“Young Master Huo, this is my first time meeting you as your mother-in-law.
“You have been very nice to my daughter. I could tell that right away.”
A man, who would send someone flying, was paying attention to what she had to say. What could that be if not a form of respect for her?
Mother Gu immediately switched her strategy and gestured Huo Wencheng to remain silent.
Sure enough, Huo Sishen looked more relaxed after what she had just said.
He even gave Gu Shishi a look and there seemed to have some warmth in his cold eyes.
He was nice to her.
He wondered how long she would remember this for? And whether she truly understood.
She knew to voluntarily care for him today?
Huo Sishen took a sip of the hot water that was forced onto him.
It was a tad on the hot side and not something he would normally drink.
That time, however, he took two consecutive sips out of it before he handed the cup back to Gu Shishi.
“I am so happy that you are truly nice to Shishi.”
Mother Gu was certainly happy.
Huo Sishen did not rebut what she had just said.
It seemed that a son-in-law was a son-in-law after all.
Her real daughter might not care to be disrespectful to her but would her son-in-law dare to?
If he dared lay a finger on her, her daughter would one day come around and remembered what he had done to her mother.
That would start a fight between the two of them.
It would appear that Young Master Huo was a smart one and would not dig that hole for himself.
“There are no forever grudges within a family, Shishi. One of these days, you will understand where Mom is coming from and you will come around,” said Mother Gu as she gave Huo Sishen a look that served as a warning to him that he was now on her side.
“A married woman’s parents will always stand behind her. You are a Gu’s and Mom and Dad will always stand up for you when you are bullied.”
Huo Sishen raised his brows and casted her a glance.
This, now, displeased him a little and made him a little impatient.
Noticing the look on him, Mother Gu gave him a calming smile.
“It’s all hypothetical.
“But, back to my original point.
“Mom feels much better now seeing how in love the two of you are, Shishi. You know, a marriage is much more than just a marriage certificate in this world.
“The certificate is just a formality and is not important at all. What’s important is your love for each other and your determination to be with each other.
“If you have each other on your mind, you will never leave each other with or without the constrain of any certificate nor would you allow the other person to ever leave you.”
