Chapter 490: The power of Rhombus Shift!

“Rhombus Shift!

“Freeze!”

The world suddenly darkened!

Mental energy was unleashed from Xia Fei’s brain, and the Dragonscale Hectoslasher took the form of a diamond in the air.

It was a massive diamond that had a metal skeleton, but on its surface was a formidable mental energy! From a distance, it appeared like a giant crystal rhombus!

Every shape had its own traits. Round represented affection, the square represented uprightness and straightforwardness, and the rhombus was the sharpest and most lethal shape!

This rhombus of light moved very slowly, seeming to be almost motionless in the air. Xia Fei’s complexion was ashen, and it was seemingly taking all of his strength to move the rhombus.

Warstar had used some method to completely solidify the air!

Air was made of molecules, and Warstar’s ability allowed him to control the molecules in the air!

When those molecules stopped moving, not only did Xia Fei’s rhombus stopped, he was deprived of oxygen, too, as if he had been suddenly cast into a vacuum!

Xia Fei’s face quickly began to change colors, and the lack of oxygen started affecting the flow of blood to his brain.

Xia Fei suddenly realized that Warstar’s solidifying attack relied on meticulous control of the air to suffocate the target to death, forcing his opponents to watch as their lives came to an end. While this attack method was not violent, it was incredibly cruel.

Warstar sighed and slowly walked over. His arms shifted like water into two sharp spikes. The wonders of liquid metal were endless, and they could change into whatever form one desired. One could even control whether it was hard or soft.

Xia Fei had once been fixed into place by a psychic ability user, and while he had not been able to move, he could at least breathe, but Warstar’s attacks had rendered him immobile while also adding onto the pain of suffocation.

Struggle!

All-out struggle!

A world in which air had stopped flowing was horrifying, but Xia Fei did not have a habit of giving up!

With his lips curving into a smile, Xia Fei seemed to realize something. His body broke free of Warstar’s restraints, and his movements became faster and faster, the white rhombus of light beginning to spin.

Warstar was startled, and he spread out his arms and made a squeezing emotion.

Under his control the density of the air increased! The pressure was so great that it was almost impossible to stand, and bones started to groan!

The powerful pressure made Xia Fei move slower, but it could not make him completely stop.

Mental energy rapidly entered that paused rhombus in the air, and it spun faster and faster, growing brighter and brighter. It was as if a little sun had appeared, radiating a blinding light.

Suddenly!

The light rhombus began its attack. As it shot forth at high speeds, numerous rhombus-shaped points of light began heading in Warstar’s direction!

It was as if Xia Fei was controlling a rapid-fire cannon, which was aimed straight at Warstar.

*Bang bang bang bang!*

This was the essence of psychokinesis’s Tier 6 combat technique. The weapons were combined into a firing array, and then a deluge of attacks was unleashed!

Not only could this attack cover a large range, it was extremely accurate, too!

If Xia Fei was facing an army, he could rely on the Rhombus Shift alone to exterminate it as quickly as possible!

The air density hindered the speed of the Rhombus Shift’s attacks, but it still failed to give Warstar enough time to flee.

Innumerable light rhombuses penetrated his body, and a moment later, that liquid robot had completely disappeared, blasted into dregs!

Without the high density air stopping it, the light rhombus could show its true savagery!

Wherever Xia Fei moved his wrist, the white light rhombus would turn, just like a rapid-fire cannon, and wherever Xia Fei pointed, that place would be devastated!

This was essentially the power of a rapid-fire warship cannon in handheld form!

However, the ammo for this cannon was the rhombus Xia Fei had formed with his mental energy.

Shards of black metal blotted out the sky. Xia Fei stopped his attack and quickly stuffed two Carmine into his mouth, panting for breath as he kneeled. It seemed that controlling Rhombus Shift like a rapid-fire cannon was incredibly tiring.

The silver liquid metal on the ground gradually condensed and took a human form. Warstar, looking somewhat disappointed, appeared in front of Xia Fei.

The brutal attack of the Rhombus Shift could blast him to dregs, but it could not destroy him. This was one of the wondrous attributes of liquid metal.

“I lost,” Warstar sternly said. He pointed at his energy indicator. Not even half a full light was left of what had been ten full lights.

“I spent all my energy but still wasn’t able to control you. If we keep on fighting, I’ll eventually run out of energy and no longer be able to change forms, which ultimately leads to my death.”

Xia Fei did not reply. Using the Rhombus Shift, a technique above his level, had placed a heavy burden on his body, but it had also brought him a pleasant surprise.

Thousand Venerables could cover a large area, but it was not as accurate or as persistent as Rhombus Shift. From a certain perspective, Rhombus Shift was an upgraded version of Thousand Venerables. Even if he were facing a battleship, Xia Fei was confident that this energy attack could blast it to pieces.

“I thought that I could suppress you at the start, but later, I realized that I wouldn’t be getting anywhere even if I used all my strength. It seems that the only way is to stop that light rhombus from spinning, for once it starts spinning, the energy will enter a cycle, and the spinning will get faster and faster and never stop,” Warstar said as he pondered the battle.

At this time, Xia Fei finally recovered half of his strength. Standing up, he awkwardly said, “It’s my first time using this technique, so I’m not proficient with it. I’ve also just discovered this trick.”

Warstar was dazed. Xia Fei truly had been very clumsy at the start, but this was not because of how strong Warstar’s attack was but because Xia Fei did not know how to use the technique yet!

If Xia Fei had been more familiar with Rhombus Shift, he could have definitely used more of its power!

After a bitter chuckle, Warstar turned and began to walk back to his residence. He did not have much energy left and needed to immediately recharge. This was a robot’s greatest flow. Without energy, they could not survive.

Xia Fei followed Warstar and asked, “What’s up with your ability? I’m guessing that it’s some sort of electromagnetic technology which allows you to control the air.”

Warstar nodded. “Robots naturally can’t have ability, but when technology reaches a certain level, it can produce effects similar to an ability.

“What I did earlier was electromagnetic control, but it’s a kind of directional microcirculation. Electromagnetic waves are scattered to an extremely miniscule level, allowing one to control all the air molecules around them. While this can imitate the powers of an air ability user, it consumes far too much energy. Those few minutes of battle earlier almost expended all of my energy reserves,” Warstar frankly confessed.

According to their pre-battle agreement, the loser would obey the winner’s orders, so Warstar confessed the secret to his ability without trying to hide anything.

For some reason, Warstar felt relieved. The greatest challenge to an intelligent robot was logical conflict. Contradictions were omnipresent, and the more a robot thought like a human, the more difficult logical problems it would face.

Simply letting the logic systems run would not allow one to escape contradictions, for there were some logical conflicts with no answer. Even if the computer ran for a thousand years or ten thousand years, it would still fail to come up with an answer.

Now that Xia Fei had beaten Warstar, he only needed to follow his orders. He did not need to engage in ceaseless calculation, which actually granted him a sense of indescribable comfort.

Xia Fei nodded. “Oh, so it’s an imitation of a special ability. The power of technology is truly formidable.”

Hami, Dimsky, and Furball arrived. Furball jumped onto Xia Fei’s shoulder and rolled his eyes at Warstar as if to say, “Hmph! It’s still my master who’s stronger!”

Dimsky laughed. “What an amazing battle! It’s been a long time since I saw a battle this exciting.”

Hami was also excited, but as these were such important figures, he did not say a lot and obediently stood at the back.

Once they were back in the residence, Warstar linked himself to the energy line and began recharging.

“I made a bet, so I’ll honor the deal and listen to you now.”

Xia Fei lit a cigarette and relaxed his tense nerves.

“Shutting off Xana and returning control of the robot world to the Queen is best for everyone.”

Warstar said, “I’ll take on the duty of finding Xana. Just like me, she’s a combat robot, so our abilities are about equal. You’ll be doing the suppressing and shutting off of her.”

Xia Fei expressed his agreement; upon which, Warstar asked, “It has been many years since I met the Queen. What is her current condition?”

After some thought, Xia Fei opened a screen and played a video of his conversation with the Sentinel Goddess.

Every combat uniform was installed with a micro-camera, which was used to record battles so that warriors could study them and improve upon themselves. Thus, he had naturally recorded his conversation with the Sentinel Goddess.

“How could you talk to the Goddess like this! This is… too unreasonable, yes?” Dimsky said in shock after watching the video.

Warstar and Hami angrily glared at Xia Fei. In the robot world, the Sentinel Goddess was a supreme existence. Xia Fei pointing his finger at the Sentinel Goddess and cursing her was naturally very difficult for these robots to accept.

For a moment, everyone was angrily glaring at Xia Fei.

Xia Fei shrugged. “There are three ways to rouse someone. The first is to let them rely on their analysis and judgment; the second is to have someone else solve the confusion for them; and the third is to curse them out.

“The Goddess can’t do the first, or else she won’t still be confused. We can’t do the second, as the Goddess is very stubborn, so I chose the third.”

“This is sophistry, not logical at all!” Warstar angrily said.

Xia Fei smiled. “Logic isn’t always effective. Can you even count the number of logical paradoxes you’ve encountered?”

Warstar was speechless. This was truly a difficult problem. Human nature was so complicated that not even the most powerful computer could make sense of it.

“Illogical scoundrel,” Dimsky muttered.

Xia Fei did not take it to heart and glanced at Hami. “My exotic beast loves activity, so I’d like you to take him on a walk. I need to talk with the two of them.”

Hami stood up, cautiously picked up Furball, and walked outside. There was a helpless look on Furball’s face. Everyone knew that Furball’s greatest loves were eating and sleeping. He had never been one for physical activities.

Once Hami and Furball left, Xia Fei sternly said, “Let’s talk about your problem now.”

“What problem do we have?”

“If my guess is correct, the three of you, Xana included, and the Sentinel Goddess are not ordinary robots.”

Shock!

Extreme shock!

The eyes of Warstar and Dimsky widened as they stared at Xia Fei in disbelief.

“What exactly are you?” Xia Fei grimly asked.
