Supreme Uprising
chapter-89

“We will always be members of the Ardent Sun Group, Big Brother Yunyang!” Chen Yong, who seemed to have sensed that something was off, proclaimed loudly.

Qin Feifei, Yang Yirui and the others simultaneously exclaimed, “We will as well, Big Brother Yunyang!”

“Oh, we forgot, Big Brother Yunyang. Just yesterday we received a call for you. A lady called Gu Qianqian was looking for you. She asked that you return her call as soon as possible!” the smart Qin Feifei added quickly.

Why was Gu Qianqian looking for him so urgently? The last time he had returned home, Luo Yunyang hadn’t gotten to see Zhu Yan or Gu Qianqian, who had been like parents to him, which was something he still regretted.

Luo Yunyang turned on his communication device immediately and dialed Gu Qianqian’s number.

Communication devices couldn’t be used in most areas of Base 7, but the restaurant he was in was one of the few top-notch places in Base 7, so communication devices worked there.

“Yunyang?” Gu Qianqian’s anxious voice was heard after a few rings.

Luo Yunyang felt his heart tighten. He thought of Gu Qianqian as a woman who wasn’t afraid to love and hate. Her tiny body seemed to contain an immense strength.

It was this very strength that had allowed her and Zhu Yan to be together for so long.

“What happened?” Luo Yunyang asked bluntly.

“Zhu Yan… Zhu Yan has gone missing. He left a few days ago to protect a research expedition team that would enter some unknown place, but… Not a single one of them can be reached anymore.” Gu Qianqian’s voice was trembling as she spoke.

Luo Yunyang’s face fell. Zhu Yan held a special place in his heart. He was both like a mentor and a friend that Luo Yunyang treated like his older brother.

How could he actually have gone missing?

“Don’t worry, Big Sister Qianqian!” Luo Yunyang took a deep breath before he asked, “Hasn’t there been any news from the Rising Dragon Army’s side?”

“No, but someone said that this time everything points to disaster!” Gu Qianqian started to sob as she was speaking. “I don’t believe that Zhu Yan is dead. He must be waiting for someone to save him!”

“Of course Big Brother Zhu isn’t dead…” Luo Yunyang said a few more words to console Gu Qianqian before ending the call.

“Does anyone know anything about a recent mission that left the Rising Dragon Army Chang’an General Headquarters to enter a classified location?” Luo Yunyang turned to Sun Miaomiao and the others.

As he looked at them, they unconsciously straightened their bodies. They all felt like a team of small beasts about to be admonished by their king.

“We don’t know much about these things, Big Brother Yunyang. I think perhaps Instructor Xu Zhong would know more than us,” Sun Miaomiao reminded him.

Although Xu Zhong would help, Luo Yunyang felt that he wouldn’t know as much as Lee Xiaoyong.

As he recalled how Lee Xiaoyong had provided him with a grade-two body-forging medicine, Luo Yunyang quickly searched for a way to contact him.

Thankfully, after urging Luo Yunyang to join the Rising Dragon Army, Lee Xiaoyong had sent him many messages, so he had left a communication channel open. Luo Yunyang dialled Lee Xiaoyong’s communication device number right away.

“Ha ha! Congratulations, Yunyang! I heard that you awakened a grade-one source core. You are really a blessing for the Rising Dragon Army!”

Luo Yunyang could sense some mockery in his words.

Although he didn’t mind getting teased by someone like Lee Xiaoyong, he really needed his help right now, so he naturally had to make the man fear him.

“If you know what sort of source core I awakened, then you must also know how powerful I am. I could get someone to exterminate you anytime I felt like it!”

Luo Yunyang chuckled. “I could offer to hit a few people a number of times and hire them to squash you. Do you think anyone would be interested in the job?”

Sun Miaomiao, Guan Wanli and the others just stood there flabbergasted and listened to this exchange.

If it had been anyone else, this would have been an unadorned threat, but Luo Yunyang made it sound like a line of reasoning.

There was nothing wrong with what he had said.

“Please don’t act rashly, Luo Yunyang. We are still on friendly terms after all. I don’t harbor any ill intentions. I was just messing with you!” Lee Xiaoyong was immediately terrified when he heard the tone of Luo Yunyang’s voice. He was a smart person, so he realized that the gap between him and Luo Yunyang was really wide.

He just didn’t have the power to challenge Luo Yunyang.

Although Luo Yunyang might not become a top-notch powerhouse, his ability still made him very strong, so Lee Xiaoyong didn’t want to offend him. If anyone begged Luo Yunyang to hit them and he asked them to beat up Lee Xiaoyong in return, then Lee Xiaoyong could die at any moment.

“Whether I am joking or not depends on my mood. Now, you better listen carefully to what I have to say. I will give you 10 minutes to settle the matter. If you don’t, then you can’t blame me for killing you,” Luo Yunyang said in a cold, dull voice.

“Alright, alright. I’ll do it. Just tell me what you need.” Lee Xiaoyong wiped away the sweat on his forehead with a tremble as he spoke.

“I need to know exactly what mission Zhu Yan went out on and why he hasn’t returned yet!” Luo Yunyang got straight to the point.

Lee Xiaoyong exhaled deeply before he said, “I really don’t know much about this. All I know is that a while ago, a crack appeared in Zulong Mountain that could lead to Zulong’s Tomb. There have always been all sorts of legends about Zulong’s Tomb, so as soon as the crack appeared, the top brass sent out an expedition team to enter Zulong’s Tomb and check out the inside. Zhu Yan was assigned to the escort party of the expedition team. Three days ago, they sent out an SOS. They have remained uncontactable ever since. All the various armies in Chang’an are preparing to send crack teams in to see what exactly is going on.”

Lee Xiaoyong said all this in one breath. When he was done, he was so afraid that Luo Yunyang would get angry again that he quickly added, “Although Zulong’s Tomb has many labyrinth-like layers, it isn’t really that dangerous. It’s possible that they only got lost inside.”

Lee Xiaoyong’s consoling words had no effect on Luo Yunyang. Although he didn’t think that highly of himself, there probably wouldn’t be anybody among the teams that would be sent into Zulong’s Tomb that was genuinely concerned about Zhu Yan.

Zhu Yan was just an unimportant member of the escort party after all.

“Has the Rising Dragon Army’s team been selected?” Luo Yungyang asked Lee Xiaoyong as he clenched his fists.

“Yes, it has. Three members of the Green Dragon Combat Squadron will be going!” Lee Xiaoyong exclaimed in a startled voice.

Luo Yunyang didn’t say anything else. He just hung up the call and headed quickly in the direction of Xu Zhong’s quarters.

The door to Xu Zhong’s room was kicked open. Five minutes later, Xu Zhong was dragged in the direction of Chief Instructor Lu’s office.

The only person who could permit Luo Yunyang to leave Base 7 was Chief Instructor Lu!
