The Bumpy Road of Marriage: Divorce Now, Daddy
-
chapter-2016
Ding Yuejia held Le Tian’s mother’s hand instead and said in a crisp voice, “Grandma, Mommy just found me too. It’s all Daddy’s fault. I don’t blame Mommy.”
Upon hearing the little guy’s crisp voice, Le Tian’s mother grew even fonder of him. However, when she heard Ding Yuejia say that Le Tian had just found him too, Le Tian’s mother’s heart wrenched for her daughter. What exactly did her daughter go through in the past few years?
When their daughter ran out of the house—claiming that they did not understand her at all—Le Tian’s mother recalled how obedient her daughter had been all these years. That gave Le Tian’s mother and father the impression that they did not have to watch over her. Yet, looking at her now, it was proof that they neglected their daughter too much.
“Grandma knows. Grandpa’s just angry for a while. Mommy will come back.” Le Tian’s mother hugged Ding Yuejia. She knew that the little guy was worried about his mother.
Ding Yuejia nodded in all seriousness, telling her that he believed his grandmother’s words.Le Tian’s mother looked at the study and wondered how was the discussion between the two men going.
The celebrity that she liked had suddenly become her son-in-law. This was a huge leap.
However, looking at her little nephew’s adorable little face, she swore she could swallow all her grievances. The water in the kitchen started to boil, and Le Tian’s mother gently caressed Ding Yuejia’s little face. “Go look for Grandpa and ask if he can let Daddy eat first before they talk.”
Ding Yuejia nodded with an even more serious expression on his face, indicating that she could entrust him with this job. The invincible moe[1] baby was on the move! He could even take down Grandpa with his looks.
At the same time that Ding Yuejia went in to fire his little moe bullets at his grandfather, Ding Junhui informed his parents about what happened between Le Tian and Ding Junqi.
Ding Haonan felt his chest ache when he heard his son’s words. He wanted to get off the bed.
“What are you going to do?” Mrs. Ding exclaimed as she helped her husband up.“What am I going to do? Go to the Le family. Look at what your son has done.” Ding Haonan dared not blame his wife. He was angry at his son.
Mrs. Ding was aware that Le Tian was the mother who gave birth to her grandson. However, since her son was unwilling to tell her the whole story, they did not ask. From the looks of it now, it seemed that Le Tian’s family was totally kept in the dark about this.
The child was already so old, yet Ding Junqi had not given Le Tian a proper status. If Feifei were to be treated like this, she would not be happy either.
When Mrs. Ding and Ding Haonan arrived at Le Tian’s family house as Ding Junhui told them, Mrs. Ding held Ding Haonan and said, “You mustn’t be angry.”
“I know. Ring the doorbell. It’s our fault for not educating Ding Junqi well,” said Ding Haonan as he asked his wife to ring the doorbell.
Mrs. Ding had no choice but to press the doorbell.
When Le Tian’s mother welcomed them in, she was still a little embarrassed. Why were they all here at once?
Mrs. Ding gave Le Tian’s mother’s a little nod. “Mrs. Le, we’re sorry to have disturbed you so suddenly. We’re Ding Junqi’s parents.”
Le Tian’s mother thought so too. However, she must admit that Ding Junqi’s mother carried herself well. It was no wonder that she managed to shape Yuejia into such a wonderful grandson.
“Come in, come in. I heard that Mr. Ding was hospitalized. It must be cold outside.” Le Tian’s mother welcomed them in and quickly poured them some water.
“We’re very sorry about Junqi. It’s our fault for not disciplining him well enough,” Mrs. Ding said apologetically.
Le Tian’s mother had always liked Ding Junqi. Now that she saw how gentle and kind Ding Junqi’s mother was, she no longer retained any of her anger.
“Le Tian didn’t tell us anything either. It’s our fault too. Le Tian has never made us worry, except that one time.” As Le Tian’s mother spoke, she suddenly thought of something and did not continue on the same topic. “To be frank, we’re not that pedantic when it comes to our children. It’s just that when a grandson of that age suddenly popped into our lives, her father’s heart ached for his daughter too much that he didn’t manage to suppress his temper.”
[1] Coined in Japanese, ‘moe’ initially means a strong sense of affection toward a character that is now extended to being an adjective that means ‘sweetly adorable’.
