The Conquerors Path
chapter-764

"That tickles!"

I shouted out as Luna, in her smaller cute form, kept rubbing against me, her affection for me clear to see. No longer does she look like the huge world-ending beast that almost made the world rulers shit their pants; now, she is this loving fluff ball that is just rubbing and running herself against me with love and compassion.

"You hid yourself as I asked, right?"

I asked, to which Luna, who kept licking me or rubbing herself against me, spoke.

"Yes, it's all done! All the rest would know is the fact that I entered the city, not the fact of where I am. I left the opening just for Ignisra; only she will be able to tell and understand."

I nodded my head at those words, my hands going back to hug this little ball of love as I kept tickling her and hugging against her. The two of us were pulling our usual stupid shenanigans as we simply enjoyed each other's company, this had been going on for some time.

Right now, the two of us are in my own personal work office, which I have prohibited people from entering for the current moment, so the two of us just spend the time with each other, catching up on some old times and all. Finally, we found ourselves in our most favourite position.

With Luna contently curled against my chest, I held her lovingly to myself as we just leaned into the chair, the voice of Luna filling my ears as she spoke.

"You don't seem afraid or moved by the fact of knowing who or what I am."

Her voice carried a sense of hesitation as she spoke of this, her head rubbing against my chest, to which, patting through her hair, I spoke.

"That doesn't matter to me at all. To me, all I see is my Luna, my companion and friend who has been with me through it all. That's just it, nothing more and nothing less."

I felt Luna relaxing herself on me after these words, as she shifted quite contently in my embrace, the wolf's tail wagging happily around as she relaxed herself into my presence. Her thoughts and actions all showed how much she had missed me, along with her love and desire for me, which exists but isn't burning that high right now.

Instead, it's the emotions of just being with me, that happiness she gets from talking to me, that's making Luna relax. For her, at the moment, that is all she needs as she purred happily while I petted her hair and body, my words softly flowing from my mouth.

"I missed you a lot, you know, I missed having you around me and more."

My hands tickled her fur for fun, and she giggled happily at it, she being very different one from the one that had nearly destroyed everything in its path. The time between us was relaxing and fun as Luna started to speak back.

"I missed you too; I pushed forth my full awakening to just come forth and meet you as soon as possible."

Her emotion for me was as sincere as possible as she ruffled herself against me, and I smiled as I responded back to her.

"It just seems so long yet short, it feels like a long while has gone by since we saw each other, but it feels short since I always had you in my heart."

My words made Luna rub against me harder. Her current look would definitely make people rip their eyes from the fact that this situation isn't possible at all. The God Eater, the one that had grown bloodthirsty and caused death during the war, acting like this, even after getting back all her memory, is not something anyone would be able to imagine at all.

"Let's just stay like this for some time, for old times' sake."

I spoke, pulling Luna closer to me, keeping her with me as the two of us just sat in silence together, just as we had always done in the past. The two of us hugged each other against a fireplace, feeling its warmth after a long hunt. The only other one who was there to see me stumble and fall a lot during my earlier days was Luna herself.

There were a lot of life-and-death battles we had gone through together in the past. At the time, I didn't have all these blessings, and the time I hunted for those so-called talents to fill myself, looking for lost relics of past artefacts, these were all things that Luna had gone through with me, the one to see my first stumbles, someone other than myself.

'This is peaceful too,'

I mused, ruffling through the softest fur in the world, one hard enough to tank the strongest hits in the world yet right now being softer than any for me. I am not dumb enough to miss the obvious ways in which Luna's emotions shift for me, but in a sense, it's not fully blown romantic emotions either.

It's more of a confusing area that Luna herself doesn't understand. She loves and cares for me, but the range of emotion reaching romantic is something she isn't clear on. Luna is one who lived through death and destruction. The only thing she knows is killing. The only emotions she has felt throughout her life are that.

And I am the first thing that has brought warmth and certain emotions for protection in her life, things she never thought she would have. For it, she turned her whole self of pure energy into the gender of a woman, an action done on instinct without any connection to it. And now those emotions have only started to wrap themselves.

'The only path of romance she knows is as a beast that is to mate, nothing more and nothing else.'

In the aspect of emotional, romantic love, she is a blank slate who has no idea what she should do, especially on the more humane spectrum, which means it's my duty to guide her. And as much as I wanted to do that, I don't have much of a heart to just manipulate her to my liking, not one that has been controlled and tried to be used in the first parts of her life.

I can't do that to the one who has been through my first stumbles, the one who was with me through my hard times. Just lying to her and trying to use her through different situations doesn't seem right to me at all. She isn't one of the heroines; she isn't an enemy, and I don't hate her at all. Thus, trying to tie her down doesn't stick with me at all.

It might be dumb in a sense not trying to use and manipulate someone like her with such power, but I can't do that to someone who cares so naturally and genuinely about me, especially one who has come to care and love for me naturally. I didn't try anything on her. What we have is a natural connection born from just pure adventures and all.

Even the case for Vena is the same. The first reason she fell for me was from the connection we held, the past connection that forced Vena to fall in love with me, but that's not the case for Luna. Nothing of that sort exists within us. What we have is pure, formed from natural actions and natural connections.

It's something beautiful and natural, which I appreciate, love, and care for. Trying to corrupt that is not something I can do. Hurting her for this, I won't do at all. If I try, Luna will naturally flow in with it, falling to my manipulation willingly, even if I tell her. But once again, I don't want that. I don't want to destroy these natural emotions into something

darker.

Hearing the snickers from Luna, I smiled, her emotions flowing deep into me, her innocence in this sense-making my smile wider from her cuteness. Taking control over her in this matter would be easy in a sense, but that would be the greatest betrayal of the trust that Luna has placed in me. And even now, she isn't a heroine I have to conquer, too.

This means I can take my time with her, my true time with her, Luna, just like true lovers would. I mean, the current Luna is different from the Luna I know. This is the much more mature Luna who has learned about life and is someone whose mind is much more mature and understanding, though that being only in life-like cases.

'In the case of romance, she would be worse than a child.'

I chuckled inwardly. The emotions Luna has been confusing. It's more of a situation where jealousy rises up, and she doesn't even know how she would even deal with it, a situation she has no idea about but one she takes quite seriously.

'Master, this is dangerous,'

Farah spoke into my mind, making Luna shake-up for a moment, her eyes focusing on me as

she spoke.

"Who is this?"

Her paw pointed to my chest, to which I replied.

"Just a friend."

"She smells of blood and death, should I kill her?"

As she said this, Luna cutely made an action with her paw, which to Farah looked like the

world ending.

'Master!'
