The Conquerors Path
-
chapter-792
The funny part of it all will be that I just can't go ahead and make up the full corruption. I need to keep it with the balance of order. Now, the order is the one that holds the reason in your mind, the main component that stops you from just simply going ahead and completing all your desires without caring about others.
In a simple sense, it's not emotions; it's more of reasoning, perfect reasoning that will keep you at bay and stop you from doing things that are 'foolish' or useless. It's the basic thing that keeps everybody from just fulfilling out their whole desire and living like animals, just like how it's done in Rehte.
The funny part here is that even though all the members are brimming with corruption, they still have order within them. Just like how in Ether, there is a small amount of corruption in everyone, in Rehte, there is a small amount of order in them that keeps them from just going and turning into full animals.
'Leaving aside that, there is still the bomb of the bloodline women that I will have to deal with.'
And that won't, in a sense, be fully fun at all cause I have come to understand many things about the one that had gone forth to lead this bloodline in the past. That man in question could have been said to be a hidden mastermind in a sense, similar to what I am becomingnow.
He just didn't go around getting the women; no, the man went around getting the most influential women and binding their souls and love for him forever. And along with it, the man had grown to build a powerful secret empire within that timeline, a timeline where Gods roamed the land and legends that could break reality strived to reach the gods.
And in a sense, what he had done in the past has now only gone forth to help me. After all, it's with the gift of receiving Vena that I was able to do a lot of things I wouldn't have been able to normally do. And what the fun part of it is the fact that among the ones that I have to seduce now, the many that still exist, some of them fall under my bloodline hit.
That means some among the many girls left will automatically fall in love with me when we meet, just like Nathalia, which is a huge help to me and also opens up the picture of why Austin had died so early in the game. Because if he had existed, the full cycle of getting the women would not have succeeded at all.
After all, the bloodline call only works when I activate my bloodline and am alive to use it. When I'm dead, the hold of the bloodline making a certain hole in the woman's chest, as if their life is not complete, won't happen. And thus, fate had pulled the strings to help the protagonist, such that 'I' had died early in the game without even being able to awaken my bloodline.
'Fate also went forth to place a lot of bad things in my life, too.'
A powerful will and a strong mind are needed to awaken; it also comes with being able to complete the restrictions placed on the bloodline, and 'I,' in a sense, wouldn't have been able to complete it, seeing how fractured my family was in the beginning and my father died protecting my life. Everything was done, in a sense, to stop my bloodline from awakening. 'At least that's how it was in the game.'But reality turned out to be different the moment 'I' awoke as Austin and fate's hold on me disappeared completely, allowing me to change the future and attain this level of power and prestige that should not normally fall into the hands of any one single individual.
'In a sense, it's helping me, so it's alright.'
I still have the strong suspicions I have about that past ancestor of mine, and I know just some ways to get the full answers. Thus, pushing away all my complex thoughts, I focused on Luna, who was just lazily enjoying herself in my embrace, her actions making me chuckle as I spoke out again.
"Still not going to meet them all?"
"I will when I want to; now, I just want to relax, take in your scent, and be with you." Luna replied straightforwardly, making it such that I decided to go with her flow for now, my fingers trimming around Luna's soft hair while she relaxed her body in my lap, the two of us just enjoying each other's company for now as the world around me started to flow, changing far beyond what should take place, already taking place.
Third Person POV:
Mira straightened her back as she got out of her office, she walked smoothly through the academy to reach into a meeting room arranged well-placed for a noble meeting like hers. Her body flashed as she appeared in the room, and just as she did, with a smile, she went forth to hug Grace, who hugged her back.
"You're looking good," Grace said with a gentle smile as Mira replied.
"You are also not doing bad. I hear that you are currently the most popular teacher rising through the ranks."
A tease was added with Mira's words as the two women took a seat, the relationship between the two of them being well-liked and like family, as Grace replied.
"What can I say, it's fun to teach these younglings, and it seems I have a good knack for teaching."
"All good leaders would have that talent to teach, and among the ones I know, you are the best, though it's right under my brother."
Mira replied with a calm tone, though the atmosphere shifted a bit at her words, the previous heavy atmosphere the two had when talking about this subject no longer being there. They still care about the man and miss him, but that heavy sadness and loneliness no longer exist within their heart because it's now filled with a deeper and more obsessive love.
"How are you really holding on?"
Mira asked, to which, maintaining a gentle smile, Grace replied.
"I am doing really well; I like what I do, and I always have my family with me. What more can
I ask?"
Her question, though holding a certain hidden scent to it and a bitter feeling in her words, wasn't missed by Mira as she asked.
"Austin, right?"
Grace gave a small nod at that question, her expression turning a bit serious as she spoke.
"The world is shifting into war; a lot of dramas that shouldn't appear are appearing, and I could feel the shift in peace. And somehow, my heart tells me my son would be in the middle
of it all."
As Grace spoke of this, her aura blasted forth, the mana around shifting, a sign that Mira didn't miss, causing her eyes to widen up. The phenomenon is only being done by those extremely blessed by mana and having the ability to reach the heights that only the greatest mages could, something which Mira is only blessed with.
And seeing her reaction, Grace understood that she had let herself be free a bit too much. As she regained her calmness, her gaze met with Mira's as she spoke.
"Let's just say one day, I just woke up with this talent."
A mixed smile filled with many emotions as Grace said this, making Mira take her at her word
as the two of them just went on to focus on the main issue at hand.
"I, too, feel the same; not all heroes get the best end, and I don't wish for Austin to be a hero,
too. I just wish for him to be happy and safe."
Her words were accepted by Grace with a nod as she spoke.
"It's the same for me, too; I just want to cuddle him in my arms and not let him get out into the world, but I know I can't do that. He fought his loneliness to get where he is just to protect us, and I can't lock him up. I know that will only destroy him."
Though weirded out by the first words, Mira agreed with the rest as she spoke.
"I feel the same way, but just because we can't hold him down doesn't mean we can't go out of our way to help him. After all, we are not just some damsels in distress. When Austin is in true trouble, all of us will be with him, and we will make sure he is safe."
Mira's words had more power to them because it was coming from an Imperial and the next head of the mage tower. Even without that, Grace had a small security in her heart, her sister —or in this case, her mother?-leaving aside the confusing matter, the legendary hero will surely take care of her son; she knows that deeply in her heart.
The connection between them shows the fact that their love for their son/grandson won't
fade at all.
