The Great Thief
chapter-873

"It's a Shield; it dropped a Shield! An exquisite Shield!" Remnant Dream exclaimed excitedly.

At the beginning of the fight, Lu Li had mentioned this shield. Now that they had actually managed to get it, Azure Sea Breeze was ecstatic.

He immediately looked at the shape of the shield, then at its properties.

Blood Shield, it really had Blood Shield!

Husk of Nerub'enkan (Dark Gold): Armor +125, Constitution +45, Shield Block +15%, 1 Slot. Special Effect 1: Nature and Fire resistance +10%. Special Effect 2: After being hit in combat, there is a 10% chance to reflect 10% of the damage. Special Effect 3: After being hit in combat, there is a 30% chance to steal 350 health from the target. Equipment Requirement: level 45. Durability 220/220.

This shield wasn't as defensive as the one he was currently wielding; its Constitution wasn't as high.

However, Nature and Fire Resistance were considered the best in addition to Dark Resistance. In many strategies for Bosses, it was a requirement that the Main Tank had some of these resistances.

The reflection damage also served to increase the Main Tank's damage output.

As for the last special effect, there were varying views on it, but even without it, this shield would still be worthy of a Dark Gold level 45 item.

Its appearance was also quite coveted, with a skull in the center that gave it a menacing appeal.

"I've been quite poor lately, but you can have 20 gold to take care of your pets," Azure Sea Breeze said, clearly in a good mood.

In fact, 20 gold was already quite a large sum. Many players could farm for a whole day and wouldn't necessarily make 20 gold. It was only because their group was always in contact with the latest and best equipment, and were also regularly paid by the guild.

Remnant Dream didn't think it was too little either, and happily continued to loot the Boss.

The second item was a Gold Insect Husk Leg Guard. They were on Nightmare Difficulty and had achieved a First Clear, so finding a Dark Gold item and a Gold item was not that surprising.

Unfortunately, this Gold item was a Sustain Item, and there were no Sustain players here. Lu Li had to put it away for now, and ask if the strongest Sustain player in the guild wanted it.

Nightedge was now associated with Ruling Sword and was a top-ranked beauty, but no one knew that Sorrowless liked her.

Lu Li had no idea what she was thinking, but didn't stop her just because of her history with Sorrowless. Since she had chosen Ruling Sword and hadn't done anything wrong, he chose to support her.

The third item was a Strengthening Stone.

Everyone rolled for it and it was taken by Wandering, who managed to roll 93 points. Hachi Chan, who rolled 92 points, watched bitterly as it was taken away. As for Lu Li, he rolled less than 90 points right at the beginning and knew that there was no hope.

There was also a fourth item. It wasn't the rare material that Lu Li expected, but an Eye of Arachnida.

Eye of Arachnida (Consumable): Use this item to summon Kilrogg's eye and observe the world through it. Kilrogg's eye is Stealthed and moves quickly but is very fragile. 2 minute duration. 5 minute cooldown. Remaining uses 5/5.

The Eye of Kilrogg was a Warlock skill that could be acquired through a class-specific quest.

If players from other professions wanted to use it, they would have to use this item.

Kilrogg was a member of the Bleeding Hollow Clan. When his family was about to exterminated by Arakkoa, he was unwilling to submit. Instead, he discovered the hidden chamber that his clan was named after and performed a terrible ceremony.

During the ceremony, Kilrogg foresaw that his death was still far away, so he knew that he would survive this catastrophe.

Inspired by fate's encouragement, he seized control and led the Bleeding Hollow Clan to defeat the Arakkoa threat and later won numerous battles.

This terrible ritual required him to dig out his left eye and turn it into a magical item. For Kilrogg, it could predict the dangers of the future and was indeed a Godly item.

The Warlock ability to acquire Kilrogg's eyes didn't require them to dig out their own eyeballs; that would be too gory. With that being said, the task was not easy either.

For players of other professions, there was simply no way to trigger that quest. As such, everyone else had to settle on using the Eye of Arachinda. The only drawback of this item was that there were a limited number of uses.

This Instance Dungeon was available for everyone to do every week, so it didn't cost them anything to farm the eyes.

"I think this will be useful in future. I will keep it and we'll split the future ones," Lu Li said, then explained its role to his teammates.

"He's the dirty head of all the equipment, dirty head of all the equipment," Azure Sea Breeze muttered. He was back to his strange self.

The head of all the equipment put the Eye of Arachnida back into his backpack. When he was on an adventure and there was an inaccessible or dangerous place, he could use the Eye to explore it first.

After killing the second Boss, Lu Li didn't head straight for the third spirit tower. Instead, they went around and cleared a few waves of monsters before running into an elite monster – Stonespine.

Stonespines were wicked gargoyles that were natural killers and followed the Scourge into battle. They had hard skin to protect them from their enemies and could land on the ground to disguise themselves as stone statues. In this form, they couldn't attack, but could regenerate HP quickly.

This was a monster that was often forgotten by the players, as it didn't drop good items and wasn't that easy to kill.

However, Lu Li knew that it could drop a ghost-like cloak. Seeing as this was the First Clear, the drop rate would even be higher. Moreover, since it wasn't a Boss, a Hunter could capture it as a pet. Its attacks caused Bleed, which was very useful against Bosses.

There was no conflict between these two goals as the Hunter could only have 3 attempts at catching it. If they failed three times, they wouldn't be able to try again.

"Can…Can I refuse?" Remnant Dream asked nervously as she glanced at the huge stone monster in front of her.

"Why? Don't you like taming pets?" Lu Li felt a bit hurt as his good intentions hadn't been received well.

"Haha, Dreamy has always been afraid of bats," Hachi Chan said unceremoniously, "And she only really likes good looking pets."
