Seeing the message sent by Mu Qingyi, Mu Qingyao couldn’t help but be astonished. Among all the people, her brother was the only one who took care of her in the end.

She dumbly looked at a few screenshots on the screen of her phone. She didn’t reply to the message immediately. Instead, she quickly put down her phone and started tidying up the things in her room.

Then, she found a dagger in his closet.

She grabbed it and took a glance, testing the sharpness with her fingernails before playing with it back and forth.

There was another noise outside, so Mu Qingyao went to the door and opened a gap to probe. She saw that it was Father Mu, who had come back home, and he looked like he was chatting with the buyer.

Afterwards, the buyer left as Father Mu pushed the door and walked in alone.

After entering the door, Father Mu glanced around the house left and right. It was his last look at the house. Then, he went straight to his study, presumably wanting to pack his important belongings.

Mu Qingyao returned to the room and put on a pair of socks. She made sure that her footsteps didn’t make a sound before she made her way out.

Fortunately, she was not as tall or large as the members of the Mu family. Otherwise, it would have been hard for her to remain silent.

She took the dagger and walked towards Father Mu’s study as she found the door of the study was not closed tightly. She observed quietly before creeping in and suddenly called out, “Father.”

Father Mu didn’t hear her enter at all before so he was startled. He turned around abruptly and was stabbed in the abdomen the moment he did.

Father Mu was caught off guard by the attack. After being stabbed, he subconsciously pushed Mu Qingyao away with his palm. Mu Qingyao pulled out the dagger and took a few steps back before standing up.

Father Mu clutched onto his stomach in pain. He couldn’t stand up straight anymore and his body fell to the ground.

His hand was pressed onto his wound with a lot of force, yet blood still overflowed from the gaps between his fingers. His body was shaking as it was a movement that he couldn’t control.

She deliberately chose the abdomen as the place to attack. She felt that if she were to target the ribs or his back, she might not be able to impale through it, so the abdomen was the safest guarantee.

It now appeared that her choice was the right one.

Father Mu widened his eyes as stared at Mu Qingyao and asked, “You…what are you doing?”

His voice was hoarse like the tearing of a grained paper.

Mu Qingyao was also very flustered initially. After all, it was the first time for her to do such a thing.

When she saw Father Mu drop onto the ground out of pain, not to mention in a state of humiliation as his blood flowed all over, she suddenly felt relieved and laughed happily, “Haha! Weren’t you feeling all high and mighty when you beat me up? What happened to that pride?”

Father Mu was in so much pain that he couldn’t say anything to her.

Mu Qingyao shook off the blood that splattered onto the dagger in disgust and frowned slightly. After letting out two unsatisfied grunts, she walked to Father Mu’s side and found his mobile phone, deliberately placing it far away from reach.

After Mu Qingyao did that, she stepped back again and looked at Father Mu coldly, as if appreciating her own work of art.

She pulled the corners of her mouth into a smile, “Just enjoy your last moments here quietly. You won’t die for a while, but I will lock the door tightly. Oh, useless thing, you only know how to have a temper and live a life of incompetence— but if you become bankrupt in the end, what is the point of keeping you alive if I can’t count on you at all?”
