Davey saw a little girl as his consciousness faded. She had quite a young appearance, but he knew she was far older than how she looked.

A hero of the Hall of Heroes.

She was called the God of Wizards in Atrellia and was believed to be the second oldest after Hercules. Considering Hercules' estimated age of ten thousand years, Odin would only be half as old.

“How pathetic,” she said, looking at Davey pitifully as she lifted the Transcendence’s Demise in her hand.

‘Wait, that’s mine. Give me back my staff,’ Davey thought.

Wack!

Without hesitation, she struck him on the head.

Hrmph?!

He snapped back to reality from his dazed state.

“Come to your senses. Have you forgotten who you learned magic from? Have you already forgotten everything, you stupid? Do you want me to burn you with Hellfire?”

Despite her sharp words, the one hit from her had brought Davey back to his senses.

Ha… I can't believe you ended up like this when I sent you down to have a good life…” she mumbled bitterly as she approached him. She then hugged him with her petite figure.

“...”

“It’s alright… Everything will be alright, our youngest Davey.”

Davey couldn’t find anything to say at the warmth he felt through her words.

“What’s the big deal about Transcendence's Will? Are they some god or something?”

She then began to disappear.

"Remember. You are the greatest genius and disciple we have ever raised. Don’t you ever forget that.”

Davey felt strange and completely unfamiliar with Odin, who rarely spoke kind words to him, comforting him so calmly. Then, her body began to disappear.

“W-Wait a second!! Odin!”

“Enough. What good would it be to talk now?”

“Grand… Grandma!!”

“...”

She reappeared and approached Davey with long strides. He reflexively took a step back.

Wham!!!

“If you call me grandma one more time, I will throw you into a fire pit to burn for eternity.”

Davey nodded reflexively at her dark warning.

“Good. I saw that you also have a pretty wife, though I noticed something strange planted in her body. All I can do is give you a chance—it’s up to you to save her.”

With those words, she turned into light again and began to disappear.

“Wait a minute, wait a minute.”

Davey extended his hand toward her. She just looked at him.

“You’re not…?”

He wanted to ask how things had come to this, why she was here. There were many questions he wanted to ask, but the one that troubled Davey the most was the uneasy feeling that had crept into his mind.

“You're not going away for good, right?”

She didn’t answer him immediately. She just looked at him blankly, then said with a grin, “A dead person must stay dead.”

“Please talk in a way that makes sense. Damn it! Please tell me you're not going away for good. Say it!”

It wasn’t like Davey’s life was over. He wanted the chance to at least brag about how and what he did to survive in that damn place, and what he did to the bastards that got in his way. He wanted her to tell the folks who gave him cold looks when they found out he was a child who had no accomplishments. Actually, he used to have nothing..

She stroked his head after he crawled toward her, “Davey.”

“Please… Don’t say anything. Please.”

She giggled at his muttering.

“Why are you making a fuss now? I remember you smiling when leaving the Hall of Heroes.”

People eventually died—their souls always eventually entered the cycle of reincarnation. But even if one knew this fact and accepted it, it was still a painful truth to bear.

“All in the Hall of Heroes know that, no matter what life you live or what happens to you… all of them will think of you as their own son and younger brother. That all of them will cherish and love you.”

Davey fell as Perserque stayed silent. Rinne was struggling to move, weighed down by an immense force. The small blonde girl standing alone addressed Eclipse with a cold gaze, completely different from when she looked at Davey.

“Was it you?”

“...”

“Did you do this to our youngest boy?” she asked calmly. Eclipse then glared at Odin with eerie reptilian eyes.

“How dare a pawn... a creature of Freyja’s do this!!”

“I’m. Asking.”

Swish!!

The surrounding mana distorted as something enormous began to twist.

“You.”

Rumble, rumble!!

The atmosphere trembled. As if the planet itself had stopped operating, the laws of nature ran amok. Eclipse's face showed astonishment as her power came to a complete stop, blocked by some unseen force.

"Im-Impossible! How can a mere human-! How can a human not even on the level of a demigod do this?!” Eclipse cried out, bewildered.

Odin quietly stretched out her hand toward Eclipse. “Consider yourself lucky.”

If she had twenty more seconds, she would have made her pay more dearly for beating up her precious youngest.

Crack!

At the same time, the atoms composing Eclipse’s form began to twist and distort. The size of the magic’s area of effect was too absurd to be considered the work of an ordinary wizard.

Eclipse's body began to glow in response. Her black gothic dress tore as scales appeared on her skin. In just a moment, the tiny girl started transforming into a gigantic dragon.

But then…

“Dispel.”

A magic so simple yet immensely powerful twisted everything.

Gaaa!!

Her transformation came to a stop. She then returned to her previous form of a small girl.

“It was just as Hercules said. He deserves to be sad. Little kid.”

Odin said calmly and looked at Rinne. When Rinne looked up at her, Odin lifted her eyepatch and revealed her red-colored eye.

“I figured. You’re quite interesting. Could you give Davey a message from me when he wakes up?”

She then muttered something with her small mouth before her expression turned cold again as she glared at Eclipse.

“Get lost.”

With those words, Eclipse's body vanished as if Odin’s command had completely sent her away.

The absolute being that suddenly appeared—the second hero Rinne had seen from the Hall of Heroes—radiated such amazing and shocking power, only to ultimately disappear.

When Davey opened his eyes, he found himself lying on a soft bed. He looked up at the ceiling in a daze before raising his upper body and turning his head to look outside. He was greeted by the vast expanse of the airship Asgard.

“Daddy!!”

The first to spot and run toward him was a cute little girl with flowing red hair, Red Ribbon. Behind her, Blue Ribbon hesitated and stood still as if she were flustered. But soon enough, she quickly jumped onto the bed and into his arms.

Waaa!!

Davey silently comforted the two crying children. He couldn’t help but frown as tried to move his body, head pounding with pain. He felt weak all over, as if his health was at its worst. Half of the wounds were caused by excessive exertion, while half were from his failure to avoid attacks.

The plan—the seemingly perfect plan—had failed. It had fallen apart for two reasons. First was the betrayal of that damned Princess of the Abyss, Verdandi.

Second was his underestimation of the powers commanded by a god. The current Thanatos hadn’t even gathered all the remnants of the Abyss—her being an imperfect god, he had thought he stood a chance. Unfortunately, Thanatos' resistance was stronger than expected.

But before he could delve into any deeper analysis, a sudden thought interrupted him.

Before losing consciousness and meeting his teacher from the Hall of Heroes, something had gone wrong with Perserque and the power of Thanatos.

“Per… Where’s Per?!” he jumped up and shouted, Red Ribbon and Blue Ribbon still in his arms. Fortunately for Davey, his mind currently didn’t have the capacity to fully process all the pain wracking his body.

“Prince Davey.”

“Aeria! What about Per?”

Aeria, only just now noticing that he had woken up, came in and grabbed his arms to stop him from suddenly leaving.

“Calm down please! The injuries all over your body are serious!”

“Could you answer me first?” he asked, holding his head. She flinched and then quietly spoke while avoiding eye contact.

“Let’s check on your physical condition first. I’ll tell you afterward.”

He asked another question. “How long have I been in bed?”

“About three days,” she replied.

She didn't say anything more until they were finished and he calmed down.

***

It had been three days since Davey had passed out. His plan to completely eradicate the Abyss had failed. When he was cornered, on the brink of death, something strange happened—an absolute wizard considered Atrellia’s God of Wizards, Odin, had appeared.

She had waved her hands at his questions, saying she only had ten seconds. In that short period, she managed to unleash massive magic that overturned the rules of the planet, changing everything. Eclipse, who had absorbed Thanatos, was swallowed up by a huge rift and disappeared. Odin had also vanished.

Of course, before she disappeared she still cast some magic on Perserque, whom Davey wanted to protect so much.

“Only helping a student on the path to discover their own solutions—that is the basis of teaching.”

As Davey stood on Asgard’s bridge in silence, Rinne came up and looked at him. Her body was full of wounds.

“Rinne.”

“Master Davey—Rinne determines that Master Davey is the only one who can fix Rinne’s body. Rinne determines that it is impossible to properly carry out missions with her current state. Rinne deems this unacceptable.”

“Who did this to you?”

She didn't say anything in response to his question. Instead, she quietly looked up at him and pointed at a display depicting a huge forest.

“Lady Perserque.”

Her words made his heart sink. When enacting such a grand plan, there was naturally an accordingly high risk of failure. This had been his first failure, and the consequences were certainly severe.

The mana output device she was pointing to displayed a large forest materialized in three-dimensional form.

In the midst of the half-destroyed forest, a silver-haired girl could be seen sleeping against a large tree. The horns sprouting from her head further highlighted her presence. Her outfit was very out of place, creating a strange atmosphere. Red eyes resembling peacock patterns hovered around her as if watching her surroundings, but it was impossible to not recognize her as Perserque.

‘Wait… So she did this to Rinne?’

“Lady Per went berserk. Rinne confirms that she was attacked when she got close. Rinne determines that if it weren’t for the recent help of the Mythical Beast King Megalodria, Rinne’s mechanical heart would have stopped working once again.”

“...”

“Additional information: In the case of the ancient dragon Eclipse, Rinne determines she was caught up in unidentified energy activity. It is impossible to analyze where she had disappeared to. However, Rinne determines she is not dead.”

“...”

“Also, an additional two hundred million people on Earth will disappear. A large-scale natural disaster will occur.”

“...”

“The Princess of the Abyss. In the case of Verdandi…”

Bang!!

The fault underneath all of this. His eyes were full of ghastly maliciousness as soon as he heard her name.

“Where is that bitch?”

Strangely enough, the lack of a way to vent his anger ended up clearing his mind.

“Currently not resisting, detained in a storage room under the bridge of Asgard.”

“...”

Davey immediately tried to leave to meet her, but Rinne grabbed his arm.

“Rinne, let go.”

“Message. An anomaly she paid to create.”

“What?”

“The person who saved you has left a message for you.”

Davey knew it had to be Odin. She was a foul-tempered, petty wizard who always seemed ready to chew him out—yet someone like her had left a message for him.

“What was the message?”

“‘Please show mercy.’”
