• Chapter 189 : Educational guidance from a swordsmanship instructor

The arena was silent.

The looks on the students’ faces were saying that they had witnessed this spectacle somewhere, at some point in the past.

Whether they liked it or not, this had to remind them of the Demon King of Tyranny, who used to be called a misfit.

“…He’s doing pretty well…” Sasha said in a natural tone of voice, yet loud enough for everyone around to hear.

“I suppose that much was to be expected from a boy genius.” (Sasha)

She sported a smile full of complacency.

“But he still has some way to go.” (Sasha)

Then she elegantly brushed her two tails back.

With her words and gestures, she was saying that though Anosh was a genius, he was nowhere near the level of the Demon King of Tyranny.

“I… I see. What he did just now seemed awfully impressive to me, but from Sasha-sama’s point of view, it was nothing much, then…” (Student boy A)

“Yeah. Here I thought he was just like Anos-sama, but there couldn’t possibly be two Demon Kings of Tyranny…” (Student boy B)

“Maybe I should work on my ability to look into the abyss of others.” (Student girl A)

They must’ve thought that it didn’t matter how incredible I looked to them since they had yet to look into my abyss and see for themselves. Although, they were incapable of properly measuring my potential to begin with.

For someone who just improvised on the fly, Sasha’s fibbing was pretty effective.

“No no, this was nothing short of brilliant. As expected of the boy genius, Anosh Polticoal. His skills with a sword and magic just remind me of the Demon King of Tyranny.” Eldmed blurred out without reading the room at all.

Sasha was staring daggers at him in response.

“Huh…? If Eldmed speaks so highly of him, then I guess Anosh-kun is pretty amazing…” (Student girl A)

“Seems like it.” (Student boy A)

When that last student muttered this, Sasha displayed a graceful smile.

“E-Eldmed-sensei is such a flatterer.” she said slowly, probably because she was in the middle of figuring out how to gloss over this situation.

“But as flawless as he may seem at first glance, his performance is still that of a child.” (Sasha)

Then, all of the students focused their eyes on Sasha.

“Since Sasha-sama said this much, she must have a specific reason for it, right?” (Student boy A)

“She’s not the kind of person to make any baseless remarks, so maybe there’s something he didn’t do right.” (Student girl A)

“Quiet…! I think Sasha-sama is about to explain everything now.” (Student girl B)

“Gotta make sure not to miss a word of it.” (Student boy B)

Sasha’s face stiffened somewhat.

After staring at me like she was gazing into my abyss, she opened her mouth.

“Hey, Misha. You agree with me, don’t you?” (Sasha)

Only to pass the ball to her sister.

Misha blinked in response.

“The configuration of his spell formula was insufficient. If the activation of the <Resurrection Ingall> spell had been delayed even by a few moments, Ramon might not have been revived.” (Misha)

I used <Resurrection Ingall> exactly three seconds later, and Misha pointed it out as if it was due to my inexperience.

That was a pretty good move.

“And I think his swordsmanship is also lacking. The technique he used to ward off that blow was just barely up to par, but that’s because Ramon attacked so awkwardly. He rushed too fast and just fell flat in a showy manner.” (Lay)

It was simply brute strength, but Lay made things up to convince them otherwise.

That was a daring way to lie.

“That’s the Demon Swordsmaster for you. His attention to detail is something else. I also thought that there was something wrong with Anosh’s flow of magic power when he cast his spell, but… I see. I guess Ramon’s skills were worse than I thought. I hadn’t noticed that much…” (Student boy C)

“So simply put, Ramon-kun fell down on his own before crashing into the wall and dying?” (Student girl A)

“Just how reckless can he be…?” (Student boy A)

When the students made those remarks, Eleonore immediately followed up.

“Come on, no matter how adorable Anosh-kun is, you can’t just charge at him with so much vigor, you know?” (Eleonore)

The students couldn’t help but laugh at that.

Even though Ramon looked humiliated, he couldn’t move from his spot.

Since he was encased in a wall, and his limbs were completely restrained.

“That was a pretty good match.” (Anos)

I sent out my magic power and pulled Ramon out of the wall.

When I finally released him from it, he asked.

“…I thought you said… you weren’t too good with swords…” (Ramon)

“Hmm. And you’ve seen it for yourself. There’s no telling what would’ve happened if you hadn’t gone easy on me.” (Anos)

For a moment, Ramon was staring at me in puzzlement.

“Because I’m a transfer student, you were going to let me win so I could take credit for it, right?” (Anos)

“…Y-Yeah. In a way. So you could tell, huh. If I had gone all out, well, the result might’ve been the opposite of this… Haha…!” (Ramon)

Hmm. Amazing how he can take such an attitude even though he just died.

He was a real small fry, through and through.

“Say, you got time after school?” Ramon asked me.

“I do have free time.” (Anos)

“Then stick with me for a bit. I’ll take you somewhere interesting.” (Ramon)

Apparently, he concluded that I was worth something.

Now where was he going to take me?

“I can’t wait to be there.” (Anos)

“I just forgot something in the classroom. I’ll go get it.” (Ramon)

With these words, Ramon sneaked out of the arena.

Thanks to the quick thinking of Sasha and the others, the students were no longer interested in me, and they all went back to their sparring matches.

My comrades were also crossing swords with one another.

Sasha paired up with Misha, Eleonore was with Zeshia, and Lay was with Misa. Each pair was practicing.

“Here I come!” (Sasha)

Sasha brought her sword down with all her might.

“…Nh…” (Misha)

Misha repelled her attack.

Although they were crossing blades with serious expressions on their faces, their swords lacked power.

Compared to their proficiency in magic, Misha and Sasha’s level of swordsmanship was a lot less advanced.

It was such that they still couldn’t even handle demon swords.

“Haah…!” (Sasha)

“Yah.” (Misha)

The two of them swung their swords at the same time, and brought them down on each other.

However, their blades were blocked by a single cane that was inserted between them.
