She had silver hair, golden eyes, and was wearing exotic clothing.

It was the same girl I had seen back in the main auditorium of the Hero Academy.

However, unlike back then, her magic power right now was off the charts.

This mysterious girl whose power overflowed to divine magnitudes, to the point that she could practically make the logic of the atmosphere bow to her will just by breathing there, was none other than an embodiment of order.

She was indubitably a goddess.

“Hmm. To think there was a spell to summon gods. I had no idea.” (Anos)

Neither Ahid nor the goddess responded to my words, and they simply looked back at me.

“I’ve never seen you before. What’s your name?” (Anos)

The goddess in the form of a young girl quietly opened her mouth.

“Arcana.” (Girl in white —> Arcana)

“What’s your order?” (Anos)

“…I am Arcana, the Goddess of Selection.” (Arcana)

The Goddess of Selection ?

So her order is to choose something?

“From this moment forth, this place will serve as a divine court. Anos Voldigoad. May I see your god?” (Ahid)

I didn’t understand a thing of what he said.

“What are you talking about?” (Anos)

“Surely you know. As the misfit, and one of the Selected Eight.” (Ahid)

“No, I don’t. And I don’t even remember ever becoming one of those Selected Eight or whatever.” (Anos)

Despite my answer, Ahid remained vigilant and kept an eye on my every move.

“Very well. If you refuse to show them, that means it will have to wait until a verdict that defiles the Divine Selection Trial is passed. Don’t think you will survive this holy war without the power of the gods!” (Ahid)

Ahid channeled magic power into his ring and gave his command.

“O mighty Arcana. Please pass your judgment on this unworthy misfit.” (Ahid)

Arcana lifted her hands in a solemn manner and quickly turned her palms toward the sky.

Right after I was thinking that she was concentrating magic power there, fluttering snowflakes shaped like flowers began to fall from above.

“…Well, look at that…” (Anos)

Those were lunar snowdrops.

I looked up at the sky peeking through the half-destroyed roof.

There, in addition to the regular moon, there was another one shining.

It was a crescent moon shining silver.

The last time I saw this scene, both moons were full, but this one was exhibiting the same power as the one from the past.

The Moon of Creation, Artiertonoa, was here.

“Freeze in the moonlight.” (Arcana)

The lunar snowdrops slipped through my anti-magic and fluttered down onto my body.

In the blink of an eye, my limbs froze, and the next moment, all but my face was frozen.

“I will give you one last chance, misfit. Show me your God. Otherwise, judgment will fall and you will be turned into an everlasting ice statue.” (Ahid)

“Hmm. I already told you earlier, Ahid. You’ve got me all wrong. I don’t have any god with me.” (Anos)

“Then you will receive the judgment of death. Farewell, misfit.” (Ahid)

In conjunction with Ahid’s words, Arcana suddenly pointed at my face.

“Call them, quick.” (Arcana)

“I just have one question. Are you Militia?” (Anos)

When Arcana emitted magic power from her fingertip, the light of the Moon of Creation poured down on my head.

My whole body was completely frozen by its power.

“I am Arcana, the Goddess of Selection.” (Arcana)

With one last glance at my frozen body, Ahid turned on his heel and tried to leave the ruins.

“Where are you going, Ahid? Weren’t you gonna kill me?” (Anos)

At the sound of my voice, he quickly turned around.

The ice covering my body was cracking.

A magic circle was floating around my feet, then my body grew larger and larger.

The ice loudly shattered into pieces, and the cold air trapped in it spread to my surroundings.

When I lightly cut through it with my hand, Ahid caught a glimpse of me after I grew up using <Growth Kurst>.

However, he directed his Magic Eyes not at me, but at his surroundings, as if to scan them.

“What’s wrong? What’s got you looking so restless?” (Anos)

“Why ask a question you already know the answer to? You can’t oppose the power of a god without the power of another god. Since you broke free of the lunar snowdrops, that means you must have summoned your own god.” (Ahid)

“Kuku… Kuhahaha! KUHAHAHAHAHA! I can’t oppose the power of a god without the power of another god, you say? Then why don’t you ask that goddess whether I borrowed the power of any god?” (Anos)

Ahid turned to the girl standing in front of him as if to protect him.

“O mighty Arcana, please grant me your oracle.” (Ahid)

She shook her head right and left.

“Be careful, Ahid. I’m not detecting the presence of any god.” (Arcana)

Upon hearing this, Ahid looked grim and more alert than before.

“…A god so well hidden that even the mighty Arcana can’t locate them…? In other words, he has a god with an order similar to concealment among his divine summons… What a troublesome opponent…” Ahid muttered, as if talking to Arcana.

“Hmm. It seems you weren’t listening to a word of what I said. I have no idea what all this stuff about divine summons or Divine Selection Trial is all about. But…” I said as I walked to him.

“Did you really think the power of a mere god could surpass that of the Demon King?” (Anos)
