• Chapter 225 : The Almighty Demon King

Angered, Ahid glared at me.

“You arrogant heretic. What on earth could my Selection God possibly learn from the likes of you?” he asked while shaking his head in a theatrical manner.

“You claimed earlier that my own Selection God was disgusted with me, but that is only what you concluded out of ignorance. It is only when I, the irredeemable one, am redeemed that I can set the norm that all people can receive salvation.” (Ahid)

As if in prayer, Ahid wrapped his left hand around his Selection Pledge Jewel.

“I would say that the one who is truly unwanted is you, who were chosen by a Selection God, yet could not even establish a pact with them.” (Ahid).

“Hmm. You have the gall to say that after treating us to that shameful display? Your shamelessness is really beyond compare.” (Anos)

“That was to test you. In order to destroy me, you had to make me draw Leviangilma. But you were so intent on tormenting me that you forgot that we are in the middle of the noble Selection Judgment.” he said with a shameless attitude.

“I am but a mirror reflecting your image. If I seem weak and ugly to you, it means your heart is weak and ugly. In other words, the image you saw of me vomiting here earlier was a reflection of your true self. And I have accepted the pain and sin of it to show it to you. I shall bear all the sins of mankind.” (Ahid)

Ahid silently closed his eyes.

“O Equis! This body of mine shall bear all the sins. Please forgive this foolish man…” he said as a prayer before opening his eyes.

Ahid then gave me a sharp look, as if his mind was completely clear.

“All of my words will have repercussions on you, Anos Voldigoad.” (Ahid)

“Hehe… Hahaha! Enough. Since when did you switch from being a crook to a clown? This is funnier than any cheap comedy act.” (Anos)

Ahid glared at me while pursing his lips as I laughed.

He seemed discontent.

“But I must say, you really are irredeemable to the core, aren’t you? Oh well. Since I’m already gonna teach Arcana, I’ll teach you something too.” (Anos)

Ahid’s face twisted in annoyance.

“That the Selection God Arcana made a mistake in choosing you.” (Anos)

“As I thought, you are much too arrogant, Misfit.” (Ahid)

As he stepped forward, Ahid scattered lunar snowdrops from his hands.

They generated light.

His arms were reshaped, and turned into sharp stakes.

“Even someone as ignorant as you knows what happens when this immortal body is transformed into a weapon, do you not?” (Ahid)

“Who can say. All I know is that you’ve modified your own hands so that they can never hold a sword, lest I trick you into drawing Leviangilma again.” (Anos)

Ahid snickered at my words.

“In any case, your chances of winning are gone. The heretic who does not belong here shall now be removed from the selection Judgment.” (Ahid)

He put pressure into his legs.

“Farewell, Misfit.” (Ahid)

With the Sword of the Almighty at the ready, I drew layers of magic circles on my body and stratified them.

“<Wavy Body Possibility Manifestation Veneziara>.” (Anos)

My body and magic power swayed like a wave.

However, I hadn’t moved a single step from my position.

Despite that, as if I had actually taken a step, and as if I had actually unleashed my magic, you could see the aftermath of it all.

“No matter what magic you use, there is no way to defend against an immortal divine body.” (Ahid)

Ahid kicked off the ground, turned into light, and broke into a run.

He faced me head-on and thrusted out his right arm, which had become a stake, at the speed of light.

In response to that, I gripped Leviangilma and kicked off the ground.

A moment later, Ahide and I passed by each other and swapped positions.

With his back to me, he spoke.

“—You may have successfully dodged my blow, but the next one will not miss. You are doomed to perish by these divine hands of mine.” (Ahid)

“Oh? You mean these hands?” (Anos)

“Whatever are you prattling a—… bout…?” (Ahid)

When Ahid raised his arms, he finally noticed that they were severed from the elbows up.

“…What… the…?” (Ahid)

After a delay, fresh blood gushed out of his arms like geysers.

“Uh… Ah… Aahh…! A-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!” (Ahid)

“Quit yapping, you lackey. Your cacophony is annoying.” (Anos)

His face turned pale, and his supposedly immortal divine body trembled with fear.

“…Unforgivable. This is unforgivable…!” (Ahid)

Repeating himself in delirium, Ahid turned to Arcana.

“O my deity Arcana! What is the meaning of this?! Is this body not supposed to be immortal…?! Please grant me your divine message!” (Ahid)

“What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Arcana said so, didn’t she? That there’s only one way to destroy you. And that is to draw the Sword of the Almighty Leviangilma, and slash you three times with it.” (Anos)

Ahid stared at Leviangilma in my hand.

It was still in its sheath.

“…This is impossible… Leviangilma is a divine sword made by the Almighty, and can never be drawn! If it were unsheathed, the life of the one who pulled it out would be forfeit! And since you are alive, this means you have never drawn the sword!” (Ahid)

I readied Leviangilma, and spoke to him gently.

“Well then, let’s test that reasoning. Next, I’m going to cut you apart from the power of the god you summoned.” (Anos)

“How dare you… suggest something as… as arrogant… as depriving me of my divine power…?! Do you think you can get away with such sacrilege?! Reveal your tricks, you Misfit…!” (Ahid)

The moment Ahid scattered lunar snowflakes and turned both of his legs into stakes they were easily sliced off from the knees down.

“…Wha—?! UGH! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGH…!!” (Ahid)
