Lin Chu raised her head a little and stole a glance at him before quickly bowing her head like a shy little baby hamster.

Her sly eyes twinkled and she smoothly planted another kiss on his throat before drawing back.

This sneaky behavior of hers was even more hamster-like. A hamster had a furry snow-white coat of fur, red mouth and nose, and round sparkly eyes. At this moment, Lin Chu looked almost identical to one.

Yan Beicheng smirked at her adorable actions.

She could kiss him if she wanted to, why did she have to sneak around like that?

He was her man, so it was only natural for her to be able to kiss him as she wanted, was it not?

Besides her, nobody else could kiss him!

Lin Chu began to trace circles on his chest as she spoke in a sweet tone, “To be honest, back then when you asked me to be your girlfriend, although I felt anxious and worried, I was still a little touched. If you were just an ordinary person and not who you are, I might’ve just accepted you without hesitation. I’ve never really thought about this before, but I got a bit bored while you were away so I started to think about a lot of things and I couldn’t help but think of how we started. Come to think of it, I may have already started liking you right then.” As Lin Chu thought of it more, she felt her sense of pride kicking in.

“Of course, look at how charming at I am,” Yan Beicheng confidently said in a solemn tone. He was not joking in the slightest.

Lin Chu, “…”

“Back then I still didn’t know much about you, so if I had said yes right away, it would only be because of your handsome face,” Lin Chu confessed with a soft laugh.

“…” Yan Beicheng glared at her and gripped her arm harder. “At least you like my face, but you only have a couple more years to look at it. Once I’m old and wrinkly, I doubt it’ll be handsome anymore.”

“You’ll still be handsome,” Lin Chu argued as she kissed his chest. “When you grow older, you’ll still be the best-looking old man around!”

Yan Beicheng, “…”

Could she not have said something nicer? Even if it was a lie, could she not have at least said that he would forever be handsome in her eyes?

“Hurry up and sleep now!” Yan Beicheng said as he gently flicked her ear.

This time, Lin Chu was honest. She stopped staring at him and closed her eyes with a yawn before slowly drifting into sleep.

Although he had slept early the night before and had been busy over the past four days, Yan Beicheng still woke up earlier than Lin Chu.

There was still a glimmer of green in the sky as the cool morning breeze blew.

Sometime during the night, Lin Chu had turned over and was now sleeping with her back against him.

Yan Beicheng raised his head, and when he noticed Lin Chu had a few strands of hair strewn around her face, he gently lifted them and tucked them behind her ear. Like black silk, her hair sprawled over beautifully on the pillow.

Lin Chu was still sound asleep so Yan Beicheng’s small action did not disturb her at all. As he stared at her lips that had become swollen from his kisses last night, the corner of his lips turned upward as he felt a soft tug at his heart.

He was worried he would wake her up, so he only dared leave a soft kiss on her lips, but at the same time, he was still unwilling to leave so soon. He left another kiss on the back of her shoulder and another on her smooth back, making sure his lips only brushed her skin gently so he wouldn’t wake her up. Finally, he got out of bed.

Lin Chu had already prepared a set of clothes for him and hung it outside the closet. Ever since he started living together with Lin Chu, he had never had to worry about his wardrobe choices every morning.

He had a model’s figure to begin with, and this, in addition to his heart-wrenchingly beautiful looks, meant that even if he did not match his clothes right, he would still look good – as if he had been professionally styled.

On the other hand, if someone else wire those clothes, the person would be a complete laughing stock.

However, Yan Beicheng was quite lazy when it came to clothing so his clothes were mostly darker in color. Therefore, no matter how he styled himself, it was hard to go wrong. Besides, he looked even more mature when he wore darker colors.

After Lin Chu moved in with him, she started buying clothes of colors he would usually not pick out for himself. Ever since Lin Chu became his personal stylist, he still looked as mature and earnest as usual, but even more stylish with the occasional pop of color.

Yan Beicheng quickly got dressed and washed up to get himself ready for the day. He also shaved so he looked fresher and more energetic than before.

When he was done, Lin Chu was still asleep in bed. Looking at her peaceful expression, he could not bear to leave anymore, and he returned to the bedside as though he were possessed.

He crouched and continued staring at her as he automatically reached out to tuck away her stray strands of hair once more.

Even when her face was already exposed and all her hair was tucked neatly behind her ears, Yan Beicheng could not stop himself. His slender fingers continued to run through her hair as he played around.

Finally, he planted a kiss on her slightly opened lips before leaving quietly.

As he walked down the stairs, he could already hear the sound of Aunt Zhuang preparing their breakfast.

“Morning, auntie,” Yan Beicheng called out.

“Oh my, you scared me! I’m preparing breakfast now, Master. May I know what’s the matter?”

“Did anything happen to Lin Chu over the past few days since I was gone?” Yan Beicheng asked.

Aunt Zhuang paused as she immediately thought of the incident with Lu Zhenghang, but she remembered Lin Chu’s stance on the matter. It seemed that she did not want Yan Beicheng to know about it, so she hesitated.

“Well, things have been alright.” Aunt Zhuang placed down the knife she was holding and rubbed her chest. “Master, why did you have to creep up on me like that? I didn’t even hear you coming up.”

“…” Yan Beicheng laughed softly at her reaction and replied, “Alright, go back to whatever you were doing, I was just casually asking.”

“Yes, Master.” With that, Aunt Zhuang continued to busy herself and dared not peek at Yan Beicheng anymore.

Aunt Zhuang had never lied to Yan Beicheng before, so she had never experienced this feeling.

After lying for the first time in many years, Aunt Zhuang got nervous and her heart began racing. Moreover, with Yan Beicheng’s gaze on her, Aunt Zhuang felt so guilty that her hands began to tremble as she started cutting the vegetables.

Her Master’s stare was too terrifying!

He was not even glaring at her, but there was this sense of seriousness in his gaze, as if he was looking right through you and exposing all your secrets.

No wonder… No wonder everyone feared him!

“Auntie, please think carefully. Did someone upset her?” Yan Beicheng asked in a solemn tone.

He did not suspect that Aunt Zhuang might have done something since he knew that Lin Chu and Aunt Zhuang got along well.

Aunt Zhuang placed the knife down on the chopping board once again and heaved a heavy sigh.

‘Oh, Lin Chu, it’s not that I don’t want to help you keep this secret but the pressure’s too much. I can’t keep it from Master!’ Aunt Zhuang thought anxiously.

With that, Aunt Zhuang told Yan Beicheng everything about the Lu Zhenghang incident. As she saw Yan Beicheng’s expression darken, Aunt Zhuang went to the kitchen door and peeked out to see if Lin Chu was coming. Instead of the young lady, she only saw Chu Xi loitering around the corner of the corridor.

At the sight of Aunt Zhuang, Chu Xi immediately perked up and ran over with its innocent eyes wide open and its tongue hanging out of its mouth.

Sadly, Aunt Zhuang did not notice the enthusiastic Chu Xi and just as it was about to slip into the kitchen, she ruthlessly closed the door in its face.

Chu Xi crashed straight into the kitchen door and fell to the floor, its front paws immediately reaching out to grab its head in pain as it howled in agony.

Through the glass door, Chu Xi could see that Aunt Zhuang and Yan Beicheng did not even spare it a glance. Its head immediately dropped, and it stopped howling.

Right then, Aunt Zhuang reached into her trouser pocket and sneakily took out her phone. She pulled out the images of Lu Zhenghang last night rolling around on the ground after being beaten and showed it to Yan Beicheng, then pulled out the video as well.

“I don’t know what exactly happened because they were outside, but I’m sure that Lin Chu was not taken advantage of,” Aunt Zhuang said. Her eyes darted down to the image of Lu Zhenghang on her phone screen who was wailing in pain and her heart even ached for him. “She was carrying insecticide at the time too!”

Lu Zhenghang was lucky that he did not lose his sight.

Yan Beicheng nodded and returned Aunt Zhuang’s phone to her. “Alright, got it.”

After hesitating for a moment, Aunt Zhuang finally asked, “Now that you’ve seen this, what do you think?”

“…” Yan Beicheng looked at her in confusion. “What can I think about it?”

Aunt Zhuang shook her head as she slipped her phone back into her pocket. “Master, please don’t do anything to Lin Chu in the future or else this will happen to you… Hehe…” She whispered to him.

With that, Aunt Zhuang turned around and went back to work with her kitchen knife.

Yan Beicheng, “…”

At first, he did not think that much about it but now that Aunt Zhuang mentioned it, he recalled the image of Lu Zhenghang howling in agony in the video earlier. His cries still echoed in his ear.

“…” He suddenly felt that his tie was a little bit too tight and reached up to loosen the knot.

After almost an hour, Lin Chu finally woke up. By now, Aunt Zhuang had finished preparing breakfast and placed it on the table.

Lin Chu stifled a yawn as she crawled out of bed. Although her face was glowing and radiant, there was still a hint of tiredness below her eyes that indicated she did not rest well.

Yan Beicheng looked at her and asked with a coy smile, “Didn’t you get a good night’s sleep?”

“…” Lin Chu immediately blushed and threw him a glare.

He was deliberately asking her a question he knew the answer to!

He knew she did not sleep well as well as the reason behind it!

“You’re such an ass!” Lin Chu muttered as she drank her glass of soymilk.

Aunt Zhuang had prepared and blended the beans herself so it was completely natural with no preservatives, making it taste especially rich with a thick fragrance. Lin Chu took a sip, and when she put down the glass, it left a streak of soymilk on her lips that looked like a white mustache.

Yan Beicheng swallowed his saliva, and before he could even think, his arms were on the table supporting his body weight as he leaned across the wide table and sucked on Lin Chu’s upper lip, cleaning away the remaining trace of soymilk on her lips.

When coupled with her bodily odor, the soymilk tasted much more delicious. Still, Yan Beicheng was reluctant to let go of her lips as he continued kissing her. He had suddenly lost his appetite just like that.

Aunt Zhuang had just finished cleaning up the kitchen and was about to join them for breakfast when she was welcomed with their intimate exchange. Thus, she quickly covered her eyes and retreated back to the kitchen.

Lin Chu was seated facing the kitchen so she immediately saw Aunt Zhuang and pushed Yan Beicheng away. Her face instantly heated up as if it had been thoroughly boiled.

Yan Beicheng was even more riled up seeing how embarrassed Lin Chu got and had a strong urge to haul her back to their bedroom.

“Why not we switch glasses?” He asked. His voice was now hoarse as he restrained himself.

He stared down at Lin Chu’s glass of soymilk. “I think yours tastes better.”

Before Lin Chu could even respond, Yan Beicheng had swapped glasses with her before drinking from her glass right away, making sure his lips touched the spot Lin Chu had drank from earlier.

Meanwhile, Aunt Zhuang stared secretly from the kitchen door and her heart cooed at the sight of the sweet couple. She decided not to join them anymore and prepared a simple breakfast for herself in the kitchen. The atmosphere outside right now was inappropriate for a woman her age.

Both of them set off to work as soon as they finished their breakfast. With Yan Beicheng back now, Lin Chu need not drive herself in her tiny Mini Cooper anymore.

As they got in the car, Yan Beicheng started, “I had someone to look into it and the unit on the ninth floor has been sold, and yes, the buyer is indeed none other than Lu Zhenghang.”

He did not bring this up during breakfast as he did not want to affect her appetite.

Sure enough, Lin Chu let out a pained expression when she heard her name. “So, it’s really him!”

Although she had already guessed it, it was still hard to accept the truth.

“At first when I sent someone to investigate this, I was planning to buy the unit if the tenant had not yet signed the official contract with the client, but we were one step too late,” Yan Beicheng said as his brows twisted into a knot. If he was able to buy the unit before Lu Zhenghang, all would be peaceful and well.

“I really have no idea what he intends to do but I think he’s up to something. It’s no coincidence that he just bought a unit in the same building as us,” Lin Chu responded. With Yan Beicheng here with her now, her main support was by her side, and she need not hide any worries or troubling thoughts anymore.

Yan Beicheng reached out for Lin Chu’s hand. “We can move out.”

Lin Chu frowned as she held onto Yan Beicheng’s hand. “That’ll make us seem that we’re afraid of him though, it’ll be like we’re running away or something. We’ve been here far longer than him so why should we be the one to leave? I won’t accept this!”

Yan Beicheng never knew about this side of Lin Chu that was as stubborn as a child. He squeezed her hand softly and smiled at her.

“Well, I moved here not too long ago. Besides, Ding City’s one of Yan Hui’s newer projects and it’s just recently been built,” Yan Beicheng continued, “Since we already know that Lu Zhenghang’s up to something, why should we stay here and let him plot against us? Don’t forget that I’m often out of town on business, and even though there’s Aunt Zhuang to accompany you, I’ll still be worried if Lu Zhenghang lives right downstairs.”

Lu Zhenghang had already harassed Lin Chu once, had he not?

Lin Chu had already been frightened once while he was away.

As much as he wanted to, it was impossible for him to stay with her all the time. There would come a time when he would be unable to jump in and help. Although Lin Chu was incredibly independent and was hard to be taken advantage of, he could not let his guard down. No matter how strong and self-reliant Lin Chu was, at the end of the day, she was still a woman. Not that he was looking down on women, but women had an inherent disadvantage when it came to physicality.

If it was a mental game, Lin Chu might be undefeatable, but what if he made a move on her in person?

Yan Beicheng could never be at ease.

“Besides, I think the house is getting too small for us. It was good enough when I lived here alone since it was just a bachelor’s pad, but we’re living together now, and we’re bound to have children someday. We won’t have enough space for our family then. I’ve already had this feeling when Ningbai and Jinxi came to sleepover the other night and was planning to discuss with you to see if you’d like to move to Sheng Town, where Yan Huaian and his family stay. It’s perfect timing too since the next-door villa is currently on sale. I also think it’s wiser to make the move now instead of when you’re pregnant because it’ll be inconvenient by then.”

Yan Beicheng gave her a reassuring smile before continuing, “When we get a new house, I’ll give you the role of redecorating so it’ll really feel like our home. I always have the feeling that my presence is overwhelming in our current home anyway, so instead of you adding a couple of things here and there, it’ll be easier if we just design everything from scratch. On another note, I’m pretty sure the previous tenants won’t leave their furniture for us so if we buy it now and start renovations, it’ll still take some time. I think it’s best if we start planning ahead.”

“I understand what you’re saying and it makes sense. If Lu Zhenghang wasn’t moving in downstairs, I would easily agree with you, but now that he is, he’ll think we’re afraid of him if we move out now,” Lin Chu said with a pout.

If it was someone else, she would not have been this calculative, but it was the Lu family. She did not want anyone of the Lu family to look down on them.

All the while she was together with Yan Beicheng, Lin Chu had always been considerate and understanding. Due to her past, she was more mature than other girls of the same age and she was always taking care of others around her. Most of the time, Yan Beicheng forgot that she was just a young lady fresh out of university.

Lin Chu rarely threw a tantrum, so on this rare occasion where she truly acted like the young girl she was, Yan Beicheng was extremely pleased.

As he continued driving, he kept one arm on the wheel and reached out his right arm to ruffle her hair.

“This is between us. What does it have to do with him?” Yan Beicheng laughed. Taking advantage of the red light before him, he turned around and looked into her eyes.

His thumb rubbed Lin Chu’s cheek adoringly. “Let’s just do our own thing! Why should our decisions be affected by an idiot like him? Since we hate him, why should we still worry about how he views us? Why should we care about what he thinks of us? If we get affected by him, then we’ve lost the battle before it even began, right? In this life, our happiness is our number one priority. Why should we still look toward him if he’s the reason we’re upset now?”

Lin Chu’s mouth twisted into a pout once again. She understood what he was saying, but she just felt that it was all extremely unfair. With that in mind, she started to sulk.

At that moment, Yan Beicheng felt as if he was trying to talk sense into his daughter. He continued softly, “Well, butting heads might not be the best plan sometimes, and backing off isn’t necessarily a sign of weakness. In fact, it can be a sort of attack. If he’s willing to spend the money to buy the unit below us, just let him be. Not that I’m looking down on him, I know that even though the houses in Ding City aren’t sky-high, not just anyone can afford it. Look through his facade, his social status and value rely on his real estate and illiquid assets, including his shares in the company, his shares of the stock market and the various investments. It’s clear that he has limited at cash at him. Who would he simply keep cash in hand when one could easily invest it?”

“Since he likes to live in Ding City, let’s just let him be! He’s paying for the house so he’ll have to stay there no matter what,” Yan Beicheng said with a small frown. “We’re different from him. His family estate’s based in Ning City whereas we’re rooted in B City. If he still has the will and ability after that, he can buy a villa in Sheng Town as well. I’ll make sure the company leaves one vacant just for him and we can consider this his effort in helping Yan Hui.”

Yan Beicheng was this confident only because Ding City and Sheng Town were built on a few of the most valuable land in B city. The price of one unit in Ding City was close to eight or nine digits, so it would not be easy for Lu Zhenghang, who did not have roots in B City, to come up with such a huge amount. After all, Lu Zhenghang could not treat it as another investment since luxurious mansions were obviously not a good investment.

He did need a residence since he was now working in B City. With the Lu family’s capability, it would not be a problem for him to buy several luxury homes in B City. However, Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu’s choices were not ordinary luxury homes that Lu Zhenghang could simply buy up one after another.

At she thought of this, Lin Chu became less upset.

Nevertheless, she was still bothered. She had been getting along in Ding City just fine before this and now they had to move out simply because of Lu Zhenghang. The mere thought of it aggravated her.

However, Yan Beicheng was right. When Yan Ningbai and Mo Jinxi slept over in the past, they had to share a bedroom. It did not matter since they were still kids and they were more than happy to have an overnight companion, but as they grew older, they would not always like being confined with one another.

Although she had never discussed having children with Yan Beicheng, she did not plan on having an only child. She thought two was the perfect number, and if the age gap between them was not much, the elder one would be able to learn how to take care of the younger sibling. Both children could also keep each other company and that was better than a lonely only child with no siblings to look to.

Children like Yan Ningbai and Mo Jinxi were no different, they all liked having a companion.

Even though Yan Beicheng was an only son, he was just slightly younger than Yan Huaian so the two of them had grown up in the family mansion together. Despite the difference of seniority in the family, both of them had gotten along like brothers.

With that in mind, Lin Chu finally decided that moving out was the right decision.

“Even without this whole incident with Lu Zhenghang, I was already thinking about moving out,” Yan Beicheng explained, “When you woke up to me sneaking the ring on you the other morning and we decided to get married, I… ahem … I’ve started to think about the specifics of our future a little.”

Lin Chu widened her eyes in shock for a minute before she burst into laughter.

He said that he had started to think about the specifics of their future so casually, but it really seemed that he had thought of quite a lot of things like buying her a car, moving into a new home and their wedding details.

He probably had not stopped thinking about their wedding ever since, and they were still two days away from collecting their marriage license!

Luckily for him, Yan Beicheng was driving now so he could pretend to be focused on the road. He snuck a glance at Lin Chu who still looked uncomfortable and rigid, but the expression on her face was getting stiffer by the second.

“Anyway, I’ve been thinking of moving into a new home, so I had Zuo Qiu to keep an eye out. Coincidentally, while I was away, I received a phone call from Yan Huaian saying his neighbors had recently moved out. I thought about it and I guess it’d be nice if we became neighbors,” Yan Beicheng continued, “So I told him I’d talk to you about it and see what you think, but if you don’t want to stay in the house that’s previously been occupied by another tenant and you want a brand-new house, we can still keep looking around.”

Lin Chu knew that the best residential location spots in B City like Ding City and Sheng Town nowadays would only have second-hand houses. If they wanted a brand-new house, they would be unable to get it in a prime location. They might discover one or two suitable areas, but the community environment would most likely be lacking. There might be one or two lone towers that randomly stuck out, which Lin Chu really disliked.

“I’m okay with that,” Lin Chu said with a laugh. As a matter of fact, she was happy to have Yan Huaian and his family as her new neighbors. “It’d be fun to stay so close to Ningbai and everyone else. Oh, if I’m not mistaken, Ningbai and his family live in a storied building, don’t they?”

“They recently bought a new villa. Yu Zi thinks Ningbai is old enough for them to try for a second child so they’re also planning on moving into a new home. He actually called me up to invite me to their housewarming,” Yan Beicheng continued explaining, “If you agree to this, we can go have a look at the place someday. I’ve already told Yan Huaian that I’ll discuss this with you and he said he’ll help me notify the landlord to give me two days.”

He was already planning on moving out even before the incident with Lu Zhenghang. Just as he was about to discuss it with Lin Chu, Lu Zhenghang had suddenly popped up and stirred up trouble.

Therefore, Yan Beicheng was extremely pleased that Lin Chu could look past the problem and agree to his request.

“Why do you still need to discuss it with me? If you like it, just buy it. There’s no such thing as having too many houses anyway. After all, when we have children and our current house gets too tight, we can move out whenever we want. I can’t have anything bad to say about that,” Lin Chu said with a smile. Yan Beicheng had always been a tycoon who made purchases without hesitation, so what was he waiting for now?

Yan Beicheng coughed awkwardly. “Well, all my money is with you. I only have a small amount of money with me which might be enough to buy a car, but I don’t have enough money to buy a villa.”

Lin Chu, “…”

She immediately burst into laughter.

Not caring that Yan Beicheng was still driving, she immediately leaned into him, and with her head resting on his shoulder, she cheekily kissed his cheek.

“Hubby, how are you so cute? Between a married couple, the wife is usually the one who has to use all sorts of tactics to get the husband to surrender all his money to her to avoid the husband spending too much money. You, on the other hand, simply pass the money voluntarily without me saying anything, making yourself seem like a poor man. If others find out how the mighty, powerful Master Yan completely surrenders himself to his wife, you’ll surely become the laughing stock of the town!”

“…” Yan Beicheng was speechless. Although he felt nice having Lin Chu looking over his shoulder, his reputation would certainly be tainted if the word got out.

Aside from Chu Zhaoyang and the bunch, Lin Chu did not know anyone else in this circle, but from watching television and the news, she knew that most tycoons had full control of their own wealth. Although their wives seemed posh, it was simply a delusion of grandeur. In reality, they had to always keep their husbands pleased to guarantee their flow of pocket money.

Mass media had always brought up such incidents where public figures had married into an extremely wealthy family.

On the other hand, cases where the husband voluntarily gave the wife all the money to keep like with Yan Beicheng and her, were rare today.

Lin Chu was amused and touched at the same time. She really felt that her life was going great. It was no wonder that Zhu Hexuan was envious of her happiness.

She thought from the perspective of when she was an ordinary, single woman. If she knew about a woman who had such a good life, an extraordinarily handsome and wealthy husband who treated his wife like a princess, who not only steered clear from other women, but even had his wife in charge of all his money, she would be jealous as well. That woman must have saved the entire universe in her past life!

As she continued deep in thought, she heard Yan Beicheng speak up once again in a low tone. “Let’s not let anyone else find out about this.”

Then, he paused before continuing, but sounding even more embarrassed this time. “Especially Nan Jingheng and the guys.”

If they did find out, he would surely be teased and treated as a joke!

Lin Chu continued laughing for a bit until she could no longer see, her cheek pressed against Yan Beicheng’s arm the whole time. If one were to look at him, he would just appear tall, stately, and handsome. However, if they were to reach out and touch him, then they would feel his tight muscles below his shirt.

Lin Chu turned and buried her face in his arm, feeling the heat on his strong arms transferring to her forehead. In truth, she had never paid much attention to his biceps as she was usually completely focused on his abs.

“Hubby, I’m really lucky. I don’t blame Zhu Hexuan for being envious of me,” Lin Chu exclaimed with a sigh.

Yan Beicheng was confused as to why Lin Chu had suddenly begun acting clingy. He was driving so it would be inconvenient if he wanted to try anything so she should have at least waited for him to stop the car.

At the moment, Yan Beicheng desperately wanted to find a spot to park his car.

“Why did you think of that all of a sudden?” Yan Beicheng cast a glance at Lin Chu as he restrained himself from kissing her. He did not want to cause an accident.

“I just feel lucky. I don’t know what good deeds I did in my previous life like – perhaps I saved Earth or something, otherwise how could I have been this lucky to meet you? Although the past ten years have been rough, they’re nothing compared to what I have right now. I just feel that all I’ve suffered in the Lin family was to accumulate good fortune so that I can meet you. When I met you, you gave me a new life to enjoy and along with a world of happiness. It’s like I’ve been recharged.”

At first, Yan Beicheng was touched by Lin Chu’s words, up until he heard the last sentence. Then, he could not help but laugh.

Recharged!

What kind of metaphor was that?

“Haih!” Lin Chu let out a breath of relief. “How are you such a good man? Other men are still racking their brains on how to hide their secret stash of money, but you just let me have control over everything you have.”

Yan Beicheng could tell that she was sincerely touched, but he suspected that she was acting nice.

Therefore, he remained silent and simply let Lin Chu continue.

When Lin Chu saw Yan Beicheng keeping quiet, she continued expressing her thoughts as she was enjoying giving her private speech.

“Don’t worry though, I’m an honest and generous person so even if you leave your money with me, I’ll be responsible and take care of it. If and when you want to use it, I’ll give you however much you need. I won’t be stingy at all! You know, some people aren’t like this. They might never take the money out ever again after the money falls into their hands, so seeing how generous I am, you should relax and let me handle all your money and properties. You don’t have to worry about it anymore,” Lin Chu said sweetly.

At first, Yan Beicheng was touched by her sincere words, but she was getting further and further away from the original topic.

Yan Beicheng was amused by her. Right on time, they arrived at Lin Yi.

He parked the car by the road and reached over to pinch her cheeks. “Yes, you’re right.”

Lin Chu let out a wide grin as she planted a kiss on Yan Beicheng’s lips. “Alright then, quickly notify the landlord that we’ll go have a look at the house soon and sign the contract. The sooner we move into the new place, the happier everyone will be.”

Yan Beicheng nodded in agreement. “Alright, you’ll be the first one to know when everything’s set.”

When Yan Beicheng reached the company, he immediately contacted Yan Huaian. Not long after their phone call ended, Yan Huaian replied saying the other party was free on Saturday.

With that, Yan Beicheng and Lin Chu agreed to have a look at the new place on Saturday, then pay a visit to Yan Huaian’s home at the same time.

That afternoon, a piece of news broke the internet. The news coverage exposed the General Manager of Xing Chuang, Lu Weining, of bribing a couple of hooligans to put up an act of sexually harassing a young lady to attract a man’s attention.

An audio recording was released online as well, and it had been pointed out that the voice in the recording belonged to Lu Weining.

Netizens had never interacted with Lu Weining so they were unable to recognize her voice, but media masses and marketing accounts on Weibo that had always focused on gossip in the entertainment industry had previously published interview videos of Lu Weining and artists from her company. Thus, when they compared the voices from her past interviews with the audio clip, they proved that she was the culprit. Aside from this, one of the hooligans in the video confirmed that the lady was Miss Lu as well.

With the evidence right in front of everyone’s eyes, there was no doubt anymore.

Immediately, rumors of Lu Weining staging a ruse to lure a man spread over the internet. Everyone despised her for playing such a dirty trick as a lady from a wealthy and influential family just to get into a man’s pants.

Then, netizens began to wonder what kind of man would make Lu Weining that desperate, to the extent of pulling such a shameless act.

No matter how much they dug or how hard they searched, nobody found anything.

Therefore, some netizens theorized that Lu Weining must have targeted a man with an influential and powerful background which must be why nobody could find out any further details about the incident.

With that, the netizens had no choice but give up and turn their attention back to Lu Weining. Unfortunately for the artists signed under Xing Chuang, they were dragged under along with Lu Weining as netizens dug out whatever dirty history of the artists they could find.

Everyone in this industry had a dark past so it was not exactly surprising.

As long as the public relations handled the exposé well, the impact would not be lasting.

The worst thing for Xing Chuang was that the first artist to be exposed was a male artist who had maintained a good reputation all the while and was one of the best artists Xing Chuang had under their wing. To keep him, Xing Chuang even offered him a part of their shares.

This male artist had been extremely popular recently due to his new drama series, so he was all over the internet, even becoming the so-called national ideal husband in the eyes of the female fans. Besides the drama fever, he managed to maintain trending for his humor, his intelligent and witty comebacks, and his alluring side in front of the camera. Most importantly, he was never involved in any scandals.
