However, Xu Moyan still searched for it and found many minor accounts that were related to the topic.

One of them made her paused.

It was a screenshot of her conversation last night with Yu Linling’s fan club President, which was posted on Weibo.

The President had said, “Fan quality has been really poor lately. She did something wrong and insisted it was within reason. She refused to listen to my advice and even went as far as to retaliate my words.”

She had even added many important members within the fan club to the post.

However, this President had made the wrong move. While there were comments that had supported the President’s statement, most had found nothing wrong with what Xu Moyan said.

“I think there’s nothing wrong with what Silent M said. The owner of the post, on the other hand, has quite an infuriating way of doing things. Why would you suddenly say all these to her, as if Yu Linling was someone you know?”

“I’m here to say that I heard everything on yy yesterday. I think Silent M made things quite interesting. I could tell she was really nervous. Besides, she blurted what all the fans were thinking of. Even though it’s impossible, but many fans would still like to fantasize a little.”

“I’m here to say I was present as well. Yu Linling himself didn’t mind it at all. This President may be making a mountain out of a molehill.”

Xu Moyan looked through the comments and did not have too much opinion about them. Lucky for her that she used a lesser moniker on yy. If someone were to reveal her true identity, it would have been quite embarrassing.

She later saw an added reminder that was sent to her by Zheng Yuntong. It was the noodle video she had helped recorded yesterday.

Foodie from the Clouds, “A happy housemate here informing you that this was really delicious, ( o )/ ”

Xu Moyan smiled and turned off her Weibo.

Zheng Yuntong arrived at the office and followed her mentor, Lu Lixin, into a meeting. The Public Relations Department employees stood around the long meeting table. Wei Zilin sat at the front with Shen Zongyi at the side. He was holding a notebook to record the meeting minutes.

“We have three main points to discuss in today’s meeting,” Wei Zilin’s voice was clear and elegant. His tone was slightly deep and rich but did not have too much of a baritone. From Xu Moyan’s description, it was filled with the urge to invade.

It was just like Wei Zilin. He may not indicate any words that gave an idea of an attack, but his actions said otherwise. He had a commanding presence in the room.

When Zheng Yuntong heard his voice, she was so surprised that she dropped the pen between her fingers as her mouth was agape. The pen slipped from her hands when she stiffened and fell onto the meeting table with a loud bang.

Wei Zilin’s employees had always remained quiet when he held a meeting. They would never say a word if it was not their turn to speak up. The noise made by the pen stood out painfully.

Wei Zilin looked over and asked with a raised eyebrow, “Zheng Yuntong, is there a problem?”

Zheng Yuntong closed her mouth with difficulty and shook her head vigorously. “No, definitely no problem!”

She immediately lowered her head. She did not dare to look at Wei Zilin at all.

Wei Zilin turned his gaze away casually and glanced at Sheng Zongyi, who was standing beside him. “Then let’s continue with the meeting.”

Zheng Yuntong had no idea what had been discussed in the meeting. The only thing she could think about was if her boss was Yu Linling.

There was a difference between listening to him speak in person and through the computer, but Zheng Yuntong found the voices similar. Even if it sounded slightly different in those forms, how could both voices sound so much the same?

However, it did not make sense.

Zheng Yuntong’s boss was always so busy and was such a stubborn person. He couldn’t take on voiceover jobs and even take part in the YY event. It was not his style at all, but she did not dare to confirm it with Wei Zilin.

Zheng Yuntong shook her head at the idea. She was lost in thoughts about it.

She heard the sound of fingers knocking against the table. Zheng Yuntong blinked and started.

Right in front of her were fair, slender, perfectly structured fingers. She could see that the fingernails were neatly clipped. From the corner of her eyes, Zheng Yuntong spotted a Navy-blue suit right next to her shoulders. All she needed to do was move slightly and she could lean against it. She felt the warmth of a human body coming from it.

A light aroma of a familiar man surrounded her. It was like being covered by light wisps of green smoke. Her face immediately burned red.

“Everyone’s already left the meeting. What are you still doing here in a daze?” Shen Zongyi’s gentle, deep voice floated towards her from the top of her head.

Zheng Yuntong felt her head go numb as if it had been gently scratched by his voice.

She instinctively lifted her head and found herself staring straight into Shen Zongyi’s face. He seemed to have a teasing look on his face. She opened her mouth in a silly way.

Shen Zongyi lowered his eyes slightly. His gaze looked like he could see through the parting between her lips. There was a quick flash in his eyes as he suddenly reached out to hold her chin.

Zheng Yuntong was stunned. The smooth skin on her chin could feel the touch of his slightly rough fingers. She could feel a light voltage of electricity buzzing on her chin.

“Shen…” Zheng Yuntong could hardly say another word as her mouth opened and closed while she stuttered. She could almost feel her heart jump out of her mouth.

She had completely forgotten that she was in a meeting room. All she saw was the stern expression on Sheng Zongyi’s face, but his eyes were smiling.

Shen Zongyi exerted slight pressure and raised her chin. Her lips touched and her mouth was closed.

Shen Zongyi then let go of her and placed his hands back into his pockets. Secretly, his thumb and second knuckle on his index finger rubbed against each other as they savored the memory of that silky touch.

However, he said instead, “Close your mouth. You looked silly just now.”

Zheng Yuntong blushed bright red. She had misread the situation. Her heart had beat furiously as she contemplated what she should do if Shen Zongyi had attempted to kiss her.

How could she have even thought that Shen Zongyi would kiss her?!

She was reading too much into this!

Zheng Yuntong was frustrated with herself. She was about to act all indignant towards Shen Zongyi, but her attempt had been brushed off by Shen Zongyi’s simple act of light teasing. All she could do now was tidy up her files, pen, and papers clumsily.

There was no one left in the office, making it spacious and quiet. It felt almost like there could be an echo if the two of them spoke. Zheng Yuntong wondered when did the meeting end and how long had everyone left.

As Zheng Yuntong hit herself on the head with her files in frustration, Shen Zongyi’s lips curved slightly as he said, “Let’s go. There will be clients here to use the meeting room soon.”

Zheng Yuntong walked behind Shen Zongyi as she hugged her files. She suddenly thought of something and decided to go all out. She pulled on the corner of Shen Zongyi’s suit.

‘Xu Moyan, my dear Xu Moyan, I’m such a good friend to you. I’m about to gather my courage and do this for you.’

Shen Zongyi stopped and turned back to look at her casually. His thick, black eyebrows curved up slightly.

“That… Does our President Wei have a side job?” Zheng Yuntong asked quietly as she looked nervously at Shen Zongyi.

Shen Zongyi watched her quietly for a moment. Zheng Yuntong shifted under his gaze. He asked, “Why are you asking about this?”

“I’m… I’m just curious,” Zheng Yuntong replied weakly.

Shen Zongyi narrowed his eyes slightly and said, “He doesn’t have a side job.”

“Oh. Does he have any interests or hobbies?” Zheng Yuntong had a sudden thought and asked brazenly.

Shen Zongyi’s eyes narrowed even more. With his hands behind his back, he lowered his head and got nearer to Zheng Yuntong.

His stern, good-looking expression suddenly magnified. Zheng Yuntong swallowed hard and was so nervous that she stopped breathing. She moved a step backward. “What… What’s wrong?”

“I think I should be the one asking what’s wrong. Do you like our President Wei?” Shen Zongyi asked with a sort of forced smile. There was a dark tone to his voice like it was spoken through tightly clenched teeth.

Zheng Yuntong felt a strange chill on her neck. Instinctively, she knew she was in deep trouble if she had admitted to it.

She had no idea why she felt that way.

Zheng Yuntong gave a dry laugh, “Hoho. President Wei is like a cloud in the sky. It’s okay to just look at it, but one won’t be able to touch it. I can’t think of President Wei that way.”

Shen Zongyi straightened himself. There was a look on his face that said she needed to give him a satisfying explanation before she was allowed to walk out the door. “Then why are you asking this question for?”

Zheng Yuntong struggled as she decided what to do. She waved for Shen Zongyi to come closer. “Urm. I’ll tell you, but don’t let anyone know about this.”

“Okay, tell me,” Shen Zongyi said as he watched her with his soulful, dark eyes. She could see her reflection in them as if he had locked her up in his dark eyes.

Zheng Yuntong’s heart suddenly skipped a beat as she said, “It’s my friend. She’s has a fetish for nice voices. She has an idol with a voice that sounds like President Wei, which was why I asked you the question.”

Shen Zongyi’s eyelids lowered slightly. He did not say another word. He gave her a look and walked away silently.

Zheng Yuntong, “…”

Where was the answer to her question? He should at least tell her something!

Zheng Yuntong slapped herself on the head. After giving it some thought, it was entirely not Wei Zilin’s style to do something like that. It did not match his image at all. It could just be that the voices sound similar. Besides, she was not entirely sure if it was him.

Zheng Yuntong decided not to say anything to Xu Moyan, in case it just gave her false hope.

Xu Moyan was so stubborn about that voice. She may have brushed it off easily when talking about, but Zheng Yuntong did not believe her.

If Xu Moyan does not pull herself out of that rut, she might not be able to get out of it at all.

Zheng Yuntong shook her head and mumbled, “Voices can spell trouble too.”

Shen Zongyi was back at his seat, tidying the notes from the meeting. His slender fingers filed everything neatly and he brought them into Wei Zilin’s office. He placed the files down and glanced at Wei Zilin.

Wei Zilin got some chills from the look Shen Zongyi was giving him. He asked, “What’s wrong?”

“President, shouldn’t you consider getting yourself a girlfriend?” Shen Zongyi suddenly asked.

“Why are you suddenly talking about this?” Wei Zilin was curious as he stopped his work at hand.

Shen Zongyi pressed his lips and said, “You should settle down soon or those girls in the office will always be coming after you.”

It was not right to be attracting so many members of the opposite sex when he was not even into them!

Wei Zilin, “…”

Shen Zongyi turned and walked off. When Wei Zilin came to with a reaction, all he could do was shout at the office door, “I’m still your boss, you know!”

Zheng Yuntong returned to the office. Lin Chu was currently on maternity leave.

It was not a busy period, so she took out her phone to scroll through Weibo. She secretly searched for Yu Linling. There were no search results for him, but she did find many Weibo pages related to Yu Linling.

One of them was the post that belonged to the President of the fan club, the one that attempted to insult Xu Moyan but ended up being bombarded by angry remarks from netizens instead.

Xu Moyan had told Zheng Yuntong about her embarrassing actions last night, so she was aware that the person this President was trying to bring down was Xu Moyan. Of course, that was just her online moniker.

Zheng Yuntong felt angry about it and immediately reposted it with the comment, “Trying to take someone down but ended up hanging yourself instead, ╮(╯▽╰)╭”

When lunch hour was near, Zheng Yuntong received a call from Xu Moyan. “Are you meeting anyone for lunch? I met a client this morning near your office. If you have no one to lunch with, we can eat together.”

“That’s great. I have no lunch date. I was still thinking about who to have lunch with now that Lin Chu is not around,” Zheng Yuntong said happily.

“Oh? I thought you still had Shen Zongyi?” Xu Moyan teased.

Zheng Yuntong hung up without another word.

When lunchtime came, Zheng Yuntong took the elevator to the first floor. Coincidentally, Wei Zilin and Shen Zongyi exited from the elevator next to hers.

Zheng Yuntong immediately called out, “Hello, Mr. President. Hello, assistant Shen.”

To prove that she had no intentions towards Wei Zilin, she spoke out especially loud and clear, looking him straight in the eye.

Wei Zilin, “…”

Wei Zilin gave Shen Zongyi a look. “Does Zheng Yuntong need medication today?”

Shen Zongyi, “…”

Zheng Yuntong paced herself slower on purpose and walked a few steps behind them.

Seated on the sofa in the first-floor lobby was a pretty lady who walked up with a smile, “Mr. Wei.”

Wei Zilin shook her head politely. Zheng Yuntong could not help stealing a few looks. That pretty lady had nice, fair skin with a touch of elegance about her. She and Wei Zilin looked so compatible standing together.

“What are you looking at?” A pair of fair, slender hands suddenly appeared and waved in front of her eyes.

Zheng Yuntong started and called out happily, “Moyan!”

She held on to Moyan’s arms immediately.

“What’s with the excitement over seeing me? I did not bother you and Shen Zongyi, did I?” Xu Moyan smiled as she said.

Zheng Yuntong got nervous. Shen Zongyi was actually standing nearby. What would he think if he heard that and thought she had intentions toward him? That would be embarrassing!

“What are you talking about?! It’s not nice for someone to hear that. They would think I… I had something going on with him!” Zheng Yuntong lowered her voice and glared at Xu Moyan as she gave her a pinch on the waist.

“Yikes, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I didn’t do it on purpose. I didn’t see him standing nearby,” Xu Moyan laughed as she avoided the pinch and lowered her voice.

As they were playing about, they did not notice that Wei Zilin heard Xu Moyan while he was chatting with Liang Wenyin. He threw a casual glance towards Xu Moyan.

“Is something wrong?” Liang Wenyin noticed Wei Zilin getting distracted and turned towards where he was looking.

She next heard Wei Zilin said, “It’s nothing. My assistant has reserved a place. Let’s chat while we eat.”

Liang Wenyin did not manage to see what he was looking at as she decided to follow Wei Zilin instead after hearing his invitation. She smiled and walked along with him.

Xu Moyan gave pause. She heard a light, voice fading in and out about her. It sounded especially familiar, much like that voice she had been listening to over and over for the past six years.

“What are you thinking about?” Zheng Yuntong mimicked Xu Moyan’s previous actions and waved her hands in front of Xu Moyan’s face.

“Nothing. Let’s go and have our lunch,” Xu Moyan came out of her reverie and looked at Zheng Yuntong.

Zheng Yuntong noticed Wei Zilin and Liang Wenyin not far away and remembered her suspicions about him. She saw that Shen Zongyi was about to leave as well and decided to put herself out there. She called out, “Assistant Shen.”

Shen Zongyi paused and turned back to wait for Zheng Yuntong and Xu Moyan to walk over. There was a coy look on Xu Moyan’s face.

Zheng Yuntong clenched her teeth. She was making the sacrifice for her friend here. She’ll make sure that Xu Moyan would pay for this.

“Assistant Shen, who was that pretty lady with President Wei?” Zheng Yuntong asked with her voice lowered.

“Why are you so interested in President Wei today?” Shen Zongyi narrowed his eyes as he questioned her.

Xu Moyan was slightly stunned as she turned to look at Zheng Yuntong. Zheng Yuntong blinked a few times at her.

Xu Moyan could not help but think that maybe Zheng Yuntong found his voice familiar as well.

“Don’t overthink this. I’m not interested in him at all. Where are they having lunch? You would know since you made the reservation,” Zheng Yuntong was afraid that Shen Zongyi would walk away, so she grabbed on to his arms.

Shen Zongyi’s gaze slowly moved and landed on her hand. The back of her hands looked especially fair against his Navy-blue suit.

Zheng Yuntong felt as if something had pierced the back of her hand and quickly let go. She looked embarrassed and did not notice the disappointed look that flashed across Shen Zongyi’s eyes.
