The President is Being Shameless Again

“Let go of me,” Yu Zi said impatiently.
“Yu Zi, what do you want me to do so that you’ll agree? I already told you, his father and I will no longer meddle in your affairs. We’ll treat you well. Why can’t you accept this? Jingchen is already injured, and for whom? Aren’t you afraid that he’ll try to kill himself again if you leave?”
Yu Zi glanced coldly toward Pan Yunfeng who was clutching onto her right arm. “Is this what you mean when you say you’ll treat me well? I’m injured, and you’re stopping me from getting treatment. You don’t care about my health, and you’re just as selfish as before. You’re only thinking about yourself and your son. You’ve never cared about me. Those words you just said, don’t you think it’s ironic?”
“You——” Pan Yunfeng wanted to continue.
Yue Jingchen opened his eyes and interrupted, “Mom, that’s enough! We’ve broken up, let her go! She’s injured, so stop blocking her.”“Jingchen!” Pan Yunfeng refused to bow and tried to say more.
Yue Jingchen’s eyes were red. “Mom, when will you ever listen to me? You and dad were the ones that forced Yu Zi away. No matter what I said to you two, you were still stubborn in the way you behaved in front of Yu Zi’s parents. You just had to wear that hideous expression in front of them and ruin my marriage. Now, you’re forcing Yu Zi to return against what I say. If it weren’t for you two, Yu Zi wouldn’t have broken up with me! We would’ve gotten engaged, Yan Huaian wouldn’t have had the chance to come in, and Yu Zi wouldn’t have ended up together with another man!”
Once he had said everything, Yue Jingchen’s voice practically turned hoarse from all his shouting.
He was utterly furious now. He was enraged at his parents, and the fact that they consistently dragged him back whilst claiming it was for his own benefit. Even worse, he was even more upset at himself for never being able to stop them.
“I’m begging you. Would you please, for once, just listen to me?” Yue Jingchen said while sobbing.
Pan Yunfeng was stunned as she slowly released Yu Zi’s arm. She opened her mouth and asked Yue Jingchen, “Are you blaming us?”
“Yes. I’m blaming you. I’ve been blaming this whole thing on you two the entire time! For six years, you’ve never been nice to Yu Zi. You’ve never made her feel comfortable, not even once. Every time she visits you, she’ll be gloomy for a long time after. If it weren’t for you guys, I would’ve married her already. She would’ve never ended up with another man, never!”Yue Jingchen pounded his chest with all his strength. “I thought about marrying her and having children with her all the time, but she’s not my Yu Zi anymore. I don’t have the right to stay by her side, love her, and protect her. I can no longer hold her hands and spend the rest of my life with her. My heart hurts so much, I feel like there’s an auger constantly drilling inside of it. I’m so miserable now, and I lost the girl that I love. Whose fault is that?! Why do you… have to make it so hard for her? She’s already broken up with me, yet you’re still trying to make things difficult for her. You won’t even allow me to protect her this one last time.”
Yue Jingchen wailed aloud, no longer caring about his image in the slightest.
He had lost his lady, and he had lost her forever.
They had shared so many great memories in the past, but they were all in the past now.
He lost Yu Zi forever, and could never be with her again.
He was immensely heartbroken now. He used to be sure that they would be together forever, and that there would never be anyone else.
He did not even dare to think about Yu Zi holding hands with Yan Huaian. Just the thought of it made his heart feel like it was ripping in half.
Yu Zi did not have the heart to hear Yue Jingchen’s weep. His cries made it seem like he was in immense pain, as if there really was something drilling inside of him.
She looked away as tears started to flow from her eyes.
Suddenly, somebody grabbed ahold of her wrist.
The joints on the hand were familiar and attractive.
Yu Zi lifted her head up in astonishment, only to see that Yan Huaian had walked in front of her. His firm and solid hand were wrapped around the wound on her left wrist.
At that moment, it felt as though the pain in her chest had been taken away by him, and she could not feel it anymore.
“Let’s go and treat your wound,” He said. For some reason, his face was dark and gloomy, and he looked somewhat furious.
Was it because of Pan Yunfeng, or Yue Jingchen, or perhaps… her?
Yu Zi stopped crying, but her eyes were still red as she was silently pulled away by him.
He did not walk fast because he was afraid that she would not be able to catch up. At the same time, he held her wound tightly, wrapping it up in a nervous manner.
Once they left the ward, they heard Pan Yunfeng shouting behind them, “Yu Zi, if Jingchen attempts another suicide because of you, I’ll never let you off! I’ll ask for your life as compensation!”
Yu Zi trembled at her voice before Yan Huaian abruptly stopped in his tracks.
Yu Zi looked at him, startled. Before she could react, he had lifted her whole body – princess style. He held her firmly in his arms and left the place quickly.
His strides were big and fast, allowing him to move much faster than when he was pulling her along. She felt like the walls on either side of her were moving along at lightning speed.
In the ward, Yue Jingchen asked for Pan Yunfeng to come back in.
Pan Yunfeng also had tears on her face, but she still wore a vicious expression.
Yue Jingchen closed his eyes weakly. The whole ordeal had gotten to such a bad stage, and who was to blame for it? He was blaming everyone since they all took part in it.
His parents, as well as himself, were all responsible for it.
He took a deep breath before heaving it out. Then, he said in a powerless manner, “Mom, promise me something. Stop going over to Yu Zi’s office. It’s time to stop bothering her.”
Pan Yunfeng opened her mouth with the intention of saying something. However, Yue Jingchen did not have the will to talk anymore, so he flipped over to the other side and closed his eyes.
Pan Yunfeng went sullen and could not help but sigh heavily. Then, she went to the bathroom and cried.
…
Yan Huaian carried Yu Zi all the way to the surgery department. However, it was a public hospital and not Chu Tian Hospital, so Yan Huaian could not cut the queue just because he wanted to.
Nevertheless, the cut on Yu Zi’s wrist was genuinely frightening. Thus, the nurse did ask the doctor to tend to her immediately. At the same time, Yan Huaian filled up her registration form.
Fortunately, there were not many patients today, and none of them were emergency cases. Otherwise, it would have been a hassle.
By the time Yan Huaian had finished with her form, Yu Zi was just done getting bandaged.
The nurse explained, “Luckily for her, there was just some trauma to her skin. None of her nerves were damaged. We’ll prescribe medication, and you’ll need to change the bandage on time. Or, you could just come back here and get it changed.”
“We’ll get the medication as well,” Yan Huaian nodded.
“How did this happen? Why was she injured here? If the cut was just slightly deeper, it would’ve been real trouble,” The nurse added.
Yu Zi lowered her head down awkwardly without saying a thing.
Therefore, the nurse assumed that it was probably a couple’s quarrel.
The nurse was already in her thirties and had children of her own. Eventually, she looked at them and said with a sincere and heartfelt tone, “When you’re quarreling, don’t use a knife and don’t joke with your lives.”
Yu Zi blushed at her words. It had nothing to do with Yan Huaian, and she did not want Yan Huaian to be blamed for it.
She immediately shook her head and said, “That’s not it.”
However, she was not expecting Yan Huaian to respond at the same time, “We know. It was an accident.”
Perhaps Yan Huaian looked earnest and reliable, and his voice was gentle enough that it made others trust him.
Hence, the nurse said nothing more.
The two soon left the consulting room. Yan Huaian’s expression remained gloomy as he glanced at her coldly and walked ahead without saying a word.
It was Yu Zi’s first time seeing Yan Huaian look so angry. He had always been warm and friendly when they were hanging out. Whenever he spoke, it was neither too fast nor too slow, nor was there ever the slightest hint of irritation in his voice.
No matter what, he always tolerated her.
He woke up early in the morning to make breakfast for her. He could guess that she preferred Chinese style breakfast without her saying it, and even went out to buy it for her.
He would fetch her to and fro from work every morning and every night. When she cried, he would stay by her side, and he did not dislike it even though she smeared makeup, snot, and tears on his shirt.
He was very strict with his subordinates in the office and would sometimes get furious at them. However, the second he saw her, he would immediately hide his stern expression and greet her with a warm smile.
He had never… looked at her with such a somber face.
Even someone foolish would know that he was angry.
Yu Zi was scared sh*tless from this. She was not afraid of him as a person, but because he was ignoring her.
She hurriedly chased after him, trying to stop him but not daring to call out to him.
Thus, she could only follow him from behind. Even so, Yan Huaian’s stride was getting wider and faster.
He walked in such wide strides whilst Yu Zi chased after him in small steps, up until they reached the car park.
It was obvious that Yan Huaian was going to enter the car, but unexpectedly, he looked like he had no intention of waiting for her.
Ultimately, Yu Zi could not bear it anymore and called out, “Yan Huaian!”
Yan Huaian abruptly stopped and turned around fiercely.
Yu Zi hurried over to him. Although the wound on her wrist was bandaged up, it was still slightly painful.
She was not paying attention, so when Yan Huaian turned around so abruptly, she could not stop herself in time and immediately bumped into Yan Huaian’s arms.
Yu Zi blushed and hurriedly tried to get herself out of his arms.
However, when she stepped back, he wrapped his arms around her waist, fiercely locking his arms behind her back and returning her into his embrace.
Yu Zi’s ear was lying closely on his chest, and she could hear his heartbeat thumping away inside of it.
