I glare back at him. His eyes are fixed on me and then he slowly lowers his gaze.

“Lee Zaha, Low-Down Sect Leader.”

He gets up and looks at me with hands behind his back.

“Speak honestly. It isn’t about pride. I know how it is in Kangho. But you…”

As soon as he senses my killing intent, he laughs.

“I’m not trying to fight. Do not be nervous. It is all good. Let’s hold this distance. I just want the truth from you. It’s time to be honest with one another.”

I nod.

“Ahem, honest in everything.”

Master Baek Wei says with a satisfied look.

“Right. Your eyes lingered on the Strolling Golden Turtle technique for a while since it was made by an established person. According to my disciples, the martial arts you hold is extreme Yin and you should know it. Which is why I immediately gave you the Light Sky of Sun and Moon, which you combined and improved to make a better technique. It is shocking. I couldn’t predict the extent of martial arts you were learning, and your expression now tells me I am bound to be surprised if I give you this…”

This guy is smart.

There must have been many reasons for him to want to bring me here. However, what is certain is that this was one of the reasons. He points his finger and speaks in a warning tone.

“I will be honest. I haven’t planted the martial arts in the Kangho yet, so how do you know about this technique?”

I answer with a smile.

“Plant?”

This is a difficult situation to which he responds with a tough expression.

“Don’t you dare say that you are planning something? Don’t say you are a descendant to someone established. Even the Old Dragon had his techniques because of the books he owned which were passed down by his forefathers.”

I feel a chill run down my spine.

“Is that so?”

So, at this time, it’s still the time period in which he hadn’t yet spread the Strolling Golden Turtle Arts in Kangho. It wasn’t the time in the previous life when I got them.

Master Baek Wei looks puzzled.

Then that means that the book and the materials I got in my previous life were all because of this man. In my previous life, I found the Strolling Golden Turtle martial arts and a lot more.

I slowly look at him.

In the end, it was a situation in which I came to the realization that the reason I was called the Crazy Demon in the past life was because of this guy. The thought was making my skin crawl.

Moreover, my martial arts skills wouldn’t have been great back then, so even if Master Baek Wei was observing me, I wouldn’t have noticed. So, in my previous life, I was in a situation no different from the Butcher whom I had killed.

Just another test to him.

So, I met him by chance. Also, he’s the reason I joined the Crazy troops.

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if all the people apart of the Crazy troops were being manipulated by this man or ended up falling into his league of disciples. In the end, they would’ve been people with titles slightly better than slaves.

Master Baek Wei smiles and says,

“Nice. I see that you’re using your brain. Seeing you use your head for this long… but don’t bother trying to lie to me.”

With my hands behind my back, I look at the books and the guy continues to stand behind me and watch me, but I don’t care.

“Amazing… books. Seems to hold the martial arts of the Orthodox, unorthodox, the different cults and the Demonic Cult, right?”

When I change the subject he says,

“Do not talk nonsense. You know very well how hard it is to find something new under the sky. Well, there is no way my student stole the books, and you’re too easy to read. Lie to me and I will move to the county you flee to, and I’ll cut your limbs off first to torture the info out of you.”

I sigh.

“You are a pathetic one, look at your thoughts.”

Master Baek Wei says as he walks slowly,

“Do you know what surprised me when I did a background check on you? They said you were a server, and I couldn’t believe it. I think it was a guesthouse. So, actually, I was going to give you a martial arts when the time was right. So, what do you want?”

“Must have thought of Strolling Golden Turtle.”

“Right. After coming to know about temper and the stories of you killing the people, I thought I should give you the Internal Flame. It was absurd. You had already learned it.”

Master Baek Wei says, waving his fingers side to side.

“But no secrets in front of me. I will be clear. I had no intention of killing you in the first place. Rather, I intended to help with your martial arts. If you speak the truth, I will give the strongest martial arts to you.”

While drawing a circle, I avoid the man who is slowly following me and moving together with me like he was drawing a circle with me. In the meantime, I read the title of the book and the names of the unknown leaders around.

“All of the world’s martial arts are stored in that area. It is a strange thing.”

I suddenly realized that the tone of his voice changed.

At first it was as if he was speaking by suppressing his killing intent, but now he was holding a relaxed tone with a hint of nervousness. The man who knew more secrets than anyone else. But I guess that one thing this guy could never figure out was what made him nervous.

Of course, I don’t even have an idea to tell him either.

I’d rather just lie to…

But the problem is that this wasn’t someone who could be fooled with such obvious lies because he was someone smart enough to play the entirety of Kangho.

But being smart isn’t the peak of thoughts.

This is because psychological warfare doesn’t depend just on intelligence, but on how well one understands people’s emotions. Like a person playing Go, I put together various lies in my head and open my mouth. These would be the words that will pave the path.

“I want to speak the truth, but what if there is something stopping me?”

To which he asks me,

“You mean someone asked you to not talk?”

“Is there any reason not to, if not for that?”

“You mean there’s someone you can’t betray? You are such a blatant liar. You don’t have a master; you were born in Ilyang county and never went anywhere until your guest house burned down. You lived a quiet life as a nice young man.”

“You say it as if you watched me grow. You are so foolish.”

Master Baek Wei’s threat followed from behind.

“Sect Leader, speak wisely while your limbs are still intact. I can feel the limits of my patience now.”

I stop and turn.

“Master.”

“What?”

“Don’t you know of my temper? If I go insane because of your curiosity, I wouldn’t care if I died here. Let’s fight. You can kill me, but you will never know how I know it. Even if your stupid disciples search all over the world, they won’t find the answer. You should’ve already realized that.”

“…”

“Unless I tell you, you will not find out.”

I smile looking at him and he raises his right hand, I begin to gather flame qi on my right hand.

“Master, you want me to turn into a tyrant now? Even if I cannot burn books (for a sense of keeping a secret), I can surely burn books (literally).”

Master Baek Wei lowers his hand and points at me.

“Stupid one. Look at this place. One act and this is the end for this place. You think only this place will be hit? This isn’t just one place.”

“Ohh.”

“Even rabbits dig three holes. And we, who have been divided, do you think will make the same mistake? If you want to, try setting this place on fire. The pathetic man who doesn’t respect records. This is why I treat you all like worms. Tsk tsk tsk.”

Master Baek Wei sits back down at the table and looks at me.

“See now, Sect Leader, I feel strange today, such harsh words. Actually, it isn’t such a big deal, so why be this stubborn? How did you get the martial arts? I am curious. Are you going to be silent even if I speak about a superior martial arts?”

I remain consistent with my words.

“Couldn’t your predecessor have given it out?”

“Do not fool me. We are thorough with the records. I am the one who manages everything. Who masters a martial arts and what the result is. Based on those results, I am studying the martial arts. It is no joke that what is in here can be erased. Martial arts with large effects, martial arts which ruin lands with swift achievements… everything is documented here. You know what that means?”

I burst into laughter.

“I am sure you know very well what martials are often liked.”

Master Baek Wei smiles.

“Well? Actually, it is nothing short of a miracle that you managed to combine Yin and Yang qi. Or maybe you are a genius martial artist. “

I look into his eyes.

“What? There are a lot of parts in the second half of the Strolling Golden Turtle Martial Art?”

The guy suddenly grabs his stomach and laughs causing his shoulders to tremble.

“So creepy. Have you already checked? I will have to correct my evaluation of you. As said, according to the records, no one would have managed to touch that martial arts without me. One way or another, cultivation will happen.”

There was no word like cultivation in the book of Strolling Golden Turtle that I saw. So, it meant that when the thing got transferred in from the bamboo sheet, the man edited it out. This is no different than mocking the entirety of Kangho.

What martial arts did this guy learn?

I ask the question.

“What martial art did you learn? I am so envious. You must have looked into all the books and learned them all and mastered them, then selected the most outstanding ones and understood them further. Have you learned to use the Strolling Golden Turtle too?”

Master baek Wei laughs.

“As if. The downside is that it is difficult to become a great warrior even if one spends their entire life learning it. If you don’t want to be a moron, you should just conquer the other ones. But, Sect Leader, are you going to keep this up? Why don’t we run to your county and beat everyone to death and then continue the conversation? Choose, if you don’t want your hometown, we can go to the Black Rabbit Union or maybe… ah, how about the Moyong family? Although doctor Moyong is a bit regretful. It cannot be helped. If I annihilate things there, don’t you think you will talk? If I jump off that cliff, you will have to work hard to keep up. Your footwork skills are worse than I thought.”

“That bad?”

“Yes.”

I have a bit of a sad look.

“… then I shouldn’t be able to enter the Crazy troops right?”

Master Baek Wei looks wide eyed.

“…”

His forehead frowns and his eyebrows rise. I feel strange every time I see him nervous. This guy was a man with a strange look.

It’s like he is so smart that not knowing something is not an option. This is refreshing to see so I keep pushing him.

“Moron, you freaking…”

I look at the book,

“Yah, there were a lot of Demonic Cult things in the past. Martial arts which already existed. There used to be this martial arts called Light Sky of Sun and Moon. You said that there was nothing new, but it must have existed in the past. Then, there must be many great warriors among the hundreds right? So, along with the scholars and influential people of the time. The first person in the world at the time must have been a warrior too. Right? Or that there was a traitor in the hundred who cooperated with the emperor.”

I look at the martial arts book and look at Master Baek Wei.

“Whose descendant are you?”

“The one who clung to the emperor? Or the descendants of those who stuck with the hundred scholars? If it is the first, why not just jump down the cliff? Right?”

I look at him, as he is thinking about killing me or not, I turn to the book.

“I guess not. But this, you could just make the Demonic Cult. They are amazing.”

I sincerely applaud him.

These guys were monsters. I say this because they’re capable of creating changes and sometimes, normal people get turned into knights.

And…

They were ones who could make a guy like me, who belatedly stepped into Kangho, turn into a Crazy Demon.

If I hadn’t met him in the past, would I have lived a less insane life?

That, I didn’t know.
