The Sacred Ruins
chapter-290

No one replied. There was only silence.

The surrounding mountains were shattered and stained with blood. Apparently, a great battle had taken place some time ago. Some mountaintops had been sliced off clean—it was obvious that a battle between peerless experts had transpired here.

“Whitey, grandpa is back! Come out if you dare or I’ll beat you to death!” the Donkey King hollered.

His courage had increased by leaps and bounds with Chu Feng standing behind him. He challenged the enemy to battle without fear. He hated the White Shark King to the bones because the latter had tortured him into a miserable condition.

There were many blood-stained leaves on the ground but the experts had long since left this area.

“Lead the way until we find them,” Chu Feng said.

“Very well. I can’t swallow this breath until we kill that white-haired shark.” The Donkey King nodded fearlessly. This was one of the rare occasions where he wasn’t trying to run away.

The Donkey King knew that a batch of experts with six severed shackles had gone into the deeper regions. They would find them sooner or later as long as they followed the traces.

He guessed that the White Shark King had probably given up after failing to find the two oxen in the outer regions and was now headed deeper in.

“The most powerful experts of the marine race possess powerful killer weapons!” the Donkey King reminded Chu Feng. Because he had found, to his great astonishment, that Chu Feng planned to rush in on his own!

Among them, the Sea God Tiger was terrifying and was almost unrivaled in his valiance. That golden-haired man had caused the continental experts a great deal of trouble.

Yellow Ox used a Golden Arhat Talisman but failed to kill off that man. It was also at that time that the black yak lost one of his horns. The two oxen nearly died in his hands.

Additionally, there was also an extremely vicious octopus as large as a mountain. It had previously torn off a whole mountain region and used it to smash an enemy. This caused lava to gush out of the ground and accumulate into a pool which he used for bathing.

This octopus had joined hands with certain others to wound the White Crane from the Sword Palace of Mount Shu.

Unfortunately, the Donkey King didn’t know a lot.

“Are there other people apart from the experts on our side that had fled further in after being wounded?” Chu Feng inquired.

The Donkey King nodded and told Chu Feng that he had seen a few great demons from Kunlun and other king level entities from the Jiangxi region.

“Where are they!?”

Chu Feng was more concerned about the ones from Mount Kunlun because many of them were acquainted with him. He naturally had to save them after knowing of the situation.

The Donkey King said, “People like us without six severed shackles can only hide here and there without daring to reveal ourselves, scattered in every direction.”

Chu Feng and the donkey were extremely fast. They crossed over 200 kilometers in a short while before they began to slow down.

This area was somewhat special. It was a hilly region with sparse vegetation which seemed as if there were a great number of gigantic burial mounds.

“Eh?!”

Both Chu Feng and the donkey were startled. The latter’s nose began to twitch because it had sensed an aromatic fruity fragrance.

“Mutant fruits!” The Donkey King became spirited. This kind of fragrance was simply too alluring. It was definitely extraordinary since the scent had drifted from a great distance.

Chu Feng was also delighted. He was somewhat expectant because this kind of fruit was definitely special. Although he himself wouldn’t use it, he could give it to someone he knew.

However, even after advancing hundreds of meters, they hadn’t found their target.

The Donkey King was even more excited now. He reckoned this type of fruit could at least make anyone into a king level entity.

The scent traveling so far indicated its extraordinary characteristics.

“Divine instincts are being suppressed here. That’s odd.” Chu Feng frowned.

He immediately looked up and bade the donkey to be quiet. There should be an expert nearby.

There were countless hills in this area forming a natural domain. However, its only effect seemed to be suppressing divine intent. It wasn’t particularly frightening.

At least it was quite a far cry from Chu Feng’s ghostly labyrinth.

Chu Feng and the Donkey King turned left and right as the scenery before them shifted. Chu Feng found a grove of trees behind a gigantic hill. The fragrance seemed to have originated therein.

“The white-haired bastard!” The Donkey King ground his teeth and stared towards the front with sinister eyes.

A white-haired young man carrying a large blood-stained saber was searching through the woods.

The area was indeed odd—they discovered the other party only when they were this close—it was clear that the domain’s interference was quite significant.

The White Shark King entered the depths of the forest and had disappeared from sight.

“He was headed straight for the central region. It seems we had chased in the right direction,” the Donkey King commented. He was quite bold at the moment and had no intention of running away.

Chu Feng didn’t dare to be careless. This White Shark King wasn’t simple. He had already discovered while climbing Mount Longhu that this man’s sharp blade had previously landed a slash on the Wudang Grandmaster.

In the depths of this forest was an odd tree made of stone. It felt like stone whether one touches or knocks on it.

Even the leaves were of the same consistency. They were all cold, hard and refused to move in the wind. It wasn’t any different from a stone figure.

However, on this tree which was as tall as a man grew a single fruit. This fruit was different from the tree—its color was grey and was emitting a dense fragrance.

It was precisely the fragrance of this fruit which had spread so far and attracted the White Shark King over.

However, there were already several people here trying to pick the fruit on this tree to no avail.

A layer of invisible energy seemed to be surrounding this stone tree, preventing anyone from approaching.

Upon closer inspection, there were strange symbols on the ground, which were precisely what was forming the energy barrier to block outside intrusion.

However, with the passage of months and years, the earth had begun to crack. The symbols had also taken heavy damage. Almost all of them had been pierced through by the cracks.

Likely no one would be able to approach if it were whole.

The few great demons of Mount Kunlun were here. All of them were familiar faces to Chu Feng. The alluring spirit of the silken cave, the Weaver King and the Horse King who had always wanted to marry his daughter to Chu Feng and even the Chiru King who had once had his horn smashed off by Chu Feng.

They had tried everything in their arsenal and were finally about to approach the tree.

“Heh, heh…” It was at this time that a heart-chilling sneer was transmitted towards them. The group turned back to see the marine race expert they hoped to see the least.

“White Shark King!” The Horse King drew in a breath of cold air.

That was because he had personally witnessed how terrifying the White Shark King was. This was a true peerless expert. Even other experts with six severed shackles would find it hard to best him.

The large saber in his hands had previously left a bone-deep wound on the Wudang Grandmaster’s back. It was precisely because of this blade that the grandmaster had fallen into mortal danger.

Of course, the main reason the Wudang Grandmaster was struck was that the Eight Clawed Octopus King had him tangled up and was attacking him fiercely.

“Everyone, scram!”

The White Shark said calmly. The young man appeared rather lazy as if he didn’t put the Kunlun demons in his eyes.

At this time, the Horse King, the Weaver King, and the others had, after so many tries, almost reached their prize. Actually encountering the White Shark King at this time caused their hearts to sink.

They had originally rushed to this place to hide but now a single fruit had drawn a powerful enemy over. This shocked them greatly.

“Are you guys deaf?”

He waved his blade with a swoosh. It was a casual move without any strength behind it but the sword intent engulfed the whole area with loud rumbles as if it was about to tear the air apart.

The Horse King and the Weaver King dodged hastily, knowing that they were no match for this blade radiance.

They ended up coughing up large amounts of blood even though they hadn’t received a direct blow. They had only brushed past the white energy glow but their bodies had almost been shattered.

“A mere group of bugs. I didn’t want to bother making a move at first,” the White Shark King said lazily. He was too strong for the invisible energy barrier to be of any use against him. He had already approached the stone tree.

“If any of you can tell me where the two oxen are, I’ll let that person go. Otherwise, I’ll have to destroy you all with a swing of my sword.”

A smile appeared on the White Shark King’s young face. No one dared to look down on this seemingly lazy person. He was a well-known figure of the marine race.

“It’s unfortunate that my master isn’t here!” the Horse King muttered. He had already realized that only an absolute expert like the old llama would be able to fight a top level expert of the marine race.

“Your master isn’t worth a fart. I can kill most of your continental lifeforms with a single slash.” The White shark appeared extremely tyrannical.

At the same time, he lifted his saber and said, “I was originally too lazy to make a move against small fishes like you. I also feel it beneath me to fight the two oxen but since its a request from the Clam Fairy, you all need to die.”

He raised his glowing saber and was ready to sweep down. He had run out of patience after seeing none of them were telling him the two oxen’s whereabouts. He was preparing to kill them all.

Boom!

A sudden explosion erupted whereupon the White Shark King turned around—his pupils abruptly constricted!

It was a long black spear flying towards him in the form of a black beam of light. It was like an astonishing bolt of lightning which arrived in the blink of an eye. Were it not for his rapid reaction, the weapon would’ve pierced a hole through him.

At the same time, he noticed the person who had launched the attack was standing in the distance. This young man had directly flung this black spear.

Clang!

The White Shark violently slashed out with his saber and knocked the spear away.

Swoosh!

The young man standing in the distance suddenly made his move. He drew the spear back towards him with spiritual energy and grasped it tightly in his hands.

“Brother Chu!” the Horse King shouted.

The Weaver King was also delighted. Her eyes were glowing brilliantly.

They had never imagined Chu Feng would appear at such a critical juncture. It was as if heaven had thrown them a life-saving ladder and allowed them to escape the maelstrom of death.

“Heehaw, heehaw, white hair, your grandpa is here. Come over and receive your death!”

The Donkey King appeared with a swoosh and jumped to Chu Feng’s side before taunting the White Shark King.

“This black spear belonged to the Tiger Whale King. Did you kill him!?” The White Shark King’s indifference had disappeared and his gaze became solemn.

“Horse King, Weaver King, go hide somewhere further away,” Chu Feng warned.

Afterwards, he stared at the White Shark Kiong and replied, “It’s only a Tiger Whale. I’ve allowed him an early reincarnation. Now it’s your turn.”

“How about the Clam Fairy!?” the White Shark King inquired.

“I smashed her with a single punch,” Chu Feng replied.

“I’ll kill you!” The White Shark King was furious. His attitude was completely different from a while ago. His gaze was now as sharp as a blade as he lifted the bright saber and aimed it at Chu Feng.

The Donkey King shouted, “Heehaw, heehaw, so you fancied the Clam Fair?! Goddammit, a forbidden romance between different races. There’s no saving you! This king will go back to make a meal out of her after a while!”

Boom!

The White Shark King had made his move. He turned into a streak of light as he rushed over, his terrifying sword intent tearing the earth apart. The whole area was engulfed in a white radiance!

The Donkey King was so scared that he turned around to flee immediately!

Chu Feng fearlessly stood there. The black spear in his hand stabbed out like a dark bolt of lightning!

Clang! Clang! Clang…

Sparks flew in all direction as killing intent surged to the skies.

This was the first time Chu Feng had fought seriously since he entered the mysterious space.

The White Shark King was extremely strong, much stronger than the Tiger Whale King.

They had exchanged several hundred blows within moments—sword radiance flashed wildly like thousands of snow-white waves. One would surely die if he came in contact with them.

Chi! Chi! Chi!

Streaks of snow white sword radiance flew out within the blink of an eye and struck through the forest towards the hills.

Boom!

Before long, more than ten hills had been cut apart.

The White Shark King’s sword intent was unrivaled in the world. A single slash could cut down a small hill!

Although it was Chu Feng’s first time using this black spear, he was quite familiar because the spear in his hand was like an extension of his Flood Dragon Fist. It seemed to have turned into a black flood dragon as it flew up and down, clashing with the enemy’s saber and piercing towards the White Shark’s vitals from time to time.

Every blow was extremely terrifying at their level and would be lethal even without a weapon.

Thump!

Chu Feng pierced forth. The spear struck a small hill behind when the White Shark dodged, causing it to collapse and sending rocks flying in all directions.

The two exchanged over two hundred blows before Chu Feng was able to pierce through the White Shark King’s shoulder with a pfft. This attack caused the latter’s right arm and saber to fall to the ground.

“You attacked the Wudang Grandmaster. This blow is for him!” Chu Feng shouted. At the same time, he began to interrogate the White Shark King about the grandmaster and the others.

“The continental experts are all dead and you’ll also die soon!” The White Sharks eyes revealed a vicious gleam. He was a hero who didn’t fear death.

Pfft!

Finally, Chu Feng pierced through the White Shark King’s chest with a single thrust of his spear. He then violently tossed the latter into the air, and with a bang, the shark was torn into several pieces and completely lost his life.

The Horse King, the Weaver King, and the others were shaken. They hurried over soon afterward with complex expressions. It had only been a short time since they last met, but Chu Feng had grown to such an extent.

“Do you guys know where the two oxen are?” Chu Feng inquired.

“We do!” The Horse King nodded.

Chu Feng was delighted.
