Chapter 430: One-Night Heavenly Book [1]

Is it over? Chu Feng was startled. He wasn’t quite satisfied yet and wanted to keep on going!

Additionally, this was the moon. It was known to be home to the most powerful domain researcher, the sagemaster.

Currently, the inheritance had only three parts and it was over?

Chu Feng was doubtful. He didn’t quite believe that the books he had read just now were the structures of supreme domains. Moreover, the second part was more like a practical application where he had to fight the cavalrymen instead of receiving inheritances.

Strictly speaking, the first level section was the foundation, and the third involved the memorization of a pile of classics. Were these all of the books which allowed the sagemaster to dominate the cosmos?

Chu Feng glanced at the dark red energy pagoda and voiced his doubt.

The energy pagoda shook as if it were nodding. Its tone was gentle and was becoming increasingly kind towards Chu Feng as if it cherished this inheritor.

It sighed lightly and said, "There is indeed a fourth section, but I would advise you to give up."

Its tone was grave and incomparably stern as it explained that all of this was to protect Chu Feng. It didn’t want him to take the risk and fall.

A youth who could complete the third section with over-fulfillment was too brilliant. In its eyes, he was an inheritor with heavenly talent; his gift was almost shocking.

It was unprecedented!

It had had even suspected whether the sagemaster from his younger years had returned. This made it tremble and it almost wanted to cry. That was why it didn’t want Chu Feng to encounter misfortune.

Such a talent was born especially for domains—he simply learned too fast. The inheritances on the moon had existed for so many years, but there was never a person with such talents.

Additionally, he was a pure-blooded descendant of the mother star.

From the perspective of the energy tower, this was simply a favor from the heavens.

"I choose to continue!" Chu Feng spoke. He wanted to push on. He had come for the sagemaster’s supreme secret volume. He wanted nothing else.

Since he was already learning, he had to give it his all. He wanted to walk towards the most glorious end of this path.

The energy tower did its utmost to dissuade Chu Feng. "According to the rules, you have all the right to come back a hundred years later. At that time, you would’ve thoroughly studied all that you have learned and can charge all the way to the end."

"A hundred years is too long!" Chu Feng shook his head. What was the present situation? Currently, the withered world was recovering. Cultivating there for a year would equal tens if not hundreds of years in other places!

Making his rise after a hundred years was too late. All opportunities would have dried up and all fortunes would be exhausted. What would there be left? Everything would have dispersed like clouds in the wind.

The energy pagoda was silent. Everything here had to go by the rules, but if it allowed Chu Feng to set foot in the fourth section, it would be tantamount to harming him.

"The fourth section is the heavenly hunt!" in the end, it still spoke.

The energy pagoda’s words were very short, but it astonished Chu Feng. He had always lived on earth and this was his first time traveling afar to the moon.

Presently, he was about to enter the starry skies and hunt unfathomable creatures. This was indeed shocking because it had far surpassed his expectations!

"What kind of creatures are we hunting?" Chu Feng inquired.

"The cavalry of the past, if alive, would possess unimaginable strength. Even if they can’t be considered completely unrivaled, they were still capable of dominating a single star field!" the energy pagoda replied without emotion.

Chu Feng was surprised and shaken. The heavenly hunt actually involved chasing after the enemy and killing the executioners from back then. This was indeed terrifying.

"Do I have a target?" He asked cautiously.

"There are a number of very small vital stars. Those are the fiefdoms of the star knights from back then. You can choose one of them for your hunt."

This answer made Chu Feng’s expression turn serious. The cavalry of the past had once fought through the starry skies. They came from many races and was only a unit under the great invading army.

But they survived the clash with the elites of the earth. Additionally, those who massacred people in every direction were naturally powerful experts.

After the passage of such a long time, they would definitely have become powerful characters in their area if they were still alive. It was likely that they were matchless and indomitable.

Chu Feng felt distressed because this was an impossible mission.

"That’s why you should give up," said the energy pagoda.

"What if those people have long since passed away?" asked Chu Feng.

"Then you must kill their descendants," replied the energy pagoda.

If there were still inheritors and the family was still intact after all these years, it signified that they were likely extremely glorious, powerful, and not easy to provoke.

"What if those fiefdom stars have no surviving inheritors? What if they’ve long since perished?" Chu Feng didn’t want to give up.

"Then you’ll switch to another star and begin anew." The energy pagoda’s merciless words made Chu Feng speechless.

"Can I go and take a look on-site before considering whether I should withdraw?" Chu Feng asked softly.

"As someone who had completed all three segments with over-fulfillment, you... have the right to do this!" The energy pagoda was fairly lenient and gave him the right to choose.

"Very well!"

Chu Feng was overjoyed. He felt that things weren’t so bleak after all. Perhaps one of their families were still alive and had weakened over the years. In that case, he might be able to accomplish the mission!

Of course, if the task was impossible, he would turn and leave without any hesitation.

It was just that the energy pagoda had told him that he would also need to change planets if the successor was too weak. This completely destroyed his joyous expression.

"Let’s go!"

The energy pagoda spoke as he brought Chu Feng through a wormhole and directly disappeared. Later on, they arrived in the starry skies above an indescribable planet.

This was a small star but was also suitable for living.

But it was currently quite bizarre here. The entire star was covered in mist which cut it off from the stars and moon. The energy pagoda broke through the mist with Chu Feng and hovered in the air.

"Eh? That’s..." Chu Feng was astonished. He recalled a certain similar segment from the ancient records.

Very soon, the energy pagoda gave him information. The old executioner from back then had long since died but his family was still present. The old knight’s 89th generation grandson was still alive here.

The bad news was that the successor was also very old and his skills were extremely profound. This mist was produced by him as he practiced many different kinds of breathing techniques.

"At a certain level of the netherworld breathing technique, in order to forcefully break through a bottleneck, one would need to blot out the sun, moon, and stars, transforming this place into an underworld-like environment!" the energy pagoda said.

Its tone wasn’t kind and even contained some anger. Its emotions were fluctuating.

Chu Feng was astonished and asked it what was wrong?

"There’s a burial ground on this star and the corpses buried within belong to some children from the mother star. Back then, that old knight had captured them and left them alive as bait. But the kids resisted and all were killed."

Chu Feng also revealed killing intent after hearing this.

He tightened his fist—although it was an incident from many years ago, he had trained on the moon and thus it seemed to him as if he had personally experienced the tragedy from back then.

The energy pagoda said, "The Netherworld Breathing Technique ultimately originates from the planet ranked twelve in the cosmos, one of the biggest enemies of the mother star. This technique is the supreme art of that planet. The Netherworld Breathing Technique spread in the outside world are only parts of it that had been bestowed to meritorious people. The most profound parts of the art can only be learned on that planet by spiritual branding."

"That’s a meritorious subordinate or our great enemy. Why don’t you take action yourself?" Chu Feng urged it on.

"I’m already damaged and have no more fighting power. The passage I just opened is also a preexisting wormhole," the energy pagoda replied.

"Then let me do it!" Chu Feng was confident.

While browsing through the secret volumes on the moon, he had come across a relevant record. It was a certain anecdote.

"Resplendent Starlight". Someone had studied this domain in depth and used it to seize a cultivator who was at a critical phase of the Netherworld Breathing Technique. The effects were oddly good!

Before this, Chu Feng didn’t quite value that anecdote and was focused on the true secret volumes. Now, it seemed to have been just as useful. At the critical moment, it was superior to a major killing domain.

He acted according to his memory and began to deploy the Resplendent Starlight domain according to the anecdote. The main component of this was a light beam composed of essence flames of extreme yang.

He began to make arrangement right above the grey mist. He had brought along a large number of magnetic stones from the moon and all of them were being utilized at the moment.

Within a mere two hours, he had finished all of the arrangements.

Afterwards, he began to activate the domain.

The next moment, starlight fell down like a waterfall. Specks of flame essence were being condensed towards this place, especially from the direction of the sun.

In the end, a boom rang out as the domain blasted apart the grey mist below.

That small star was no longer dark, and the aura of the netherworld was no more, replaced by the vigorous radiance.

"Roar..."

An earth-shattering roar was heard in a certain castle on the surface. The darkness there was scattered as an entity rushed out amidst painful cries. His whole body was aflame.

The Netherworld Breathing Technique was disrupted at the critical moment—intense starlight and essence flames of extreme yang invaded the planet and caused a lethal interference.

Boom!

In the end, this aged, demon-like entity directly exploded as it tried to flap its wings and was turned to ashes.

When the energy pagoda showed Chu Feng this scene, he drew in a breath of cold air. Circulating a breathing technique was this dangerous?

He was enlightened. In the latter parts of evolution, the various mysteries of each breathing technique would become obvious. He didn’t know at the moment because he hadn’t touched upon them.

But Yellow Ox had once told him that the slightest mistake while circulating the Thunderous Breathing Technique could harm the body. The vibrations would fracture all the bones and tendons in the body because it was too tyrannical.

In any case, at present, he... had completed his mission!

An almost impossible mission was cleared away just like that.

They left immediately through the wormhole and returned to the moon.

"You actually... over-fulfilled it." The dark red energy pagoda was simply dumbfounded.

"Luck!" Chu Feng smiled modestly. It was indeed luck. Otherwise, against such a great demon, it wouldn’t be enough no matter how many copies of him charged forward.

Unexpectedly, the energy pagoda replied in all due seriousness, "Luck is also a part of strength. The sagemaster said so back then."

"Very well then!" Chu Feng’s was blushing ever so slightly. He felt that it wasn’t accomplished with his true strength. If it wasn’t for the great urgency, he absolutely wouldn’t be so extreme.

"The fifth section will award you with one page from the sagemaster’s heavenly book!" the energy pagoda spoke.

A silver sheet of paper flew out from its body and upon it was inscribed a dense array of runes symbols filling up both sides of the paper.

This required Chu Feng to activate the Fiery Eyes before he could see clearly. That was because the symbols were too small and there were tens of thousands of them!

There were methods to construct domains described within.

"A one-page book?" Chu Feng was suspicious.

The energy pagoda replied, "True. Its origins are mysterious and the sagemaster obtained it only by coincidence. One day, if you can comprehend the entire first page of this heavenly book, you’ll be able to sense the second and third pages."

"Just give it to me directly and be done with it." Chu Feng’s face was quite thick.

"There’s only one page on the moon and it’s already considered the highest inheritance. It’s been given to you already!"

The energy pagoda told him clearly that it only had one page. Additionally, apart from the sagemaster, no one in the past had obtained it before. It was said that the land of inheritance would be closed down now that Chu Feng had taken it.

Chu Feng was moved and solemnly put away the one-page heavenly book.

This item wasn’t made by the sagemaster. Its origins were suspected to be boundlessly significant.

Five segments had all been completed.

Chu Feng asked on the verge of parting, "How long have I stayed here in total?"

"Not even half a day," the energy pagoda replied.

"Eh? That’s impossible!" Chu Feng didn’t believe it. He felt as if several months had passed or even a couple of years.

That was because he spent a lot of time while comprehending the ancient books on the third stage. In the end, he could only resort to the memorization of certain books for fear of spending too much time.

"The domain sagemaster laid down this special secret realm. It’s not very difficult to make the time in here flow differently," replied the energy pagoda.

It told Chu Feng that most of the time was spent on the hunt.

In the end, Chu Feng said goodbye and left. He was about to return to earth to make his rise!

When he passed by the moon laurel tree, he saw that white tiger once again, its bloody body pierced through by nine stone pillars. He asked the energy pagoda, who had tagged along to send him off, about this tiger. He wanted to know whether it was alive and what kind of entity it was.

"Rumors were spread saying that the sagemaster had died and that he had sunk into a coffin. In the end, a demon came to invade the moon but was nailed down here and left alive to provide energy for this place."

The energy pagoda’s reply shook Chu Feng!

"The sagemaster... is alive?" Chu Feng asked excitedly.

The energy pagoda replied with great sadness, "My guess is that it’s impossible for him to appear again. The demon was nailed here because there was a domain here that the sagemaster laid down before he vanished.

Chu Feng became silent.

"The true direct descendants are now extremely few in number." When the time came, the energy pagoda became sadder. The majestic mother star had actually declined to such a state!

"There’s a lady on Mount Longhu..." said Chu Feng.

"I know that lass. She and her fiance stunned an entire generation. It’s just that the fiance and her master from the depths of the starry sky... let it be."

The energy pagoda immediately disappeared.

Before it left, the pagoda sighed. "There are certain secret realms on earth, like Penglai, Fangzhan, etc. These places were where the servants of the original descendants lived. If they still cherish old memories, they can serve as a fairly significant force on earth."

Chu Feng was astonished.

He stood there stunned for a moment and only left after a moment of pondering.

Behind him, the energy pagoda’s voice rang out, "Rise from defeat and recover from death. One day, we will return!"

...

[1] This is a problem. Night and Page are the same in pronunciation. The title clearly said one-night but there’s nothing regarding that at all in the story and only "one-page". But every source says the title is "one-night". I’m really not sure if this is a typo or intentional.
