The Sweetest Medicine
-
chapter-192
Like goose feathers, willow catkin, and pear flowers, snow gently floated down from the sky, creating a blanket of white across Beijing. Yu Gangan didn’t like the snow and hated leaving her home on snowy days, but the snow kept falling and she couldn’t stay indoors the entire time.
She was scheduled to study for one month, but there was only one seminar every day and it usually alternated between morning one day and afternoon the next. This arrangement made it feel like she had one day of rest and then one day of work.
The doctors from Beijing returned home when there were no seminars, leaving the dorms quite empty. As for doctors from outside of Beijing, they usually went out with friends. Yu Gangan also organized to meet with her seniors.
When they heard that she was coming to Beijing, they were prepared well in advance to show her around.
Just as Yu Gangan left the dorms, she ran into Wang Aizhen and Xia Chengzhou. They appeared to be meeting someone together. As Yu Gangan walked past, Wang Aizhen introduced Xia Chengzhou to her. That’s when she realized he was also from Baiyang City.
The two doctors that were sent by Director Chen, were Wang Aizhen and Xia Chengzhou.
Yu Gangan greeted the man politely with a smile, “Hello, Dr. Xia.”
Xia Chengzhou glanced at Yu Gangan and nodded his head gently in response.
But, as Wang Aizhen spoke, he did not say a word.
Yu Gangan could instinctively tell that Xia Chengzhou didn’t like her.
But, she had no memory of ever crossing paths with Xia Chengzhou except for when she saw him with Su Jiushan after the seminar in the afternoon. This man wasn’t particularly handsome nor cool, but his forehead was full, his nose was high and his body was tall, making him look quite manly.
If Yu Gangan wasn’t attending the seminars, Su Jiushan would be the youngest female doctor; elegant, smart, and beautiful.
As for Xia Chengzhou, he was the youngest male doctor; capable, mature, reliable, with impressive talent.
[Could Xia Chengzhou be Su Jiushan’s boyfriend?]
If that was the case, then it was normal for Xia Chengzhou to dislike her.
The snow continued to fall and the wind was strong. Yu Gangan wrapped herself tighter with her down jacket and subconsciously tucked her neck in.
After going separate ways from Wang Aizhen and Xia Chengzhou, Yu Gangan called a taxi and arrived at the place where she was having lunch. As soon as she stepped out of the car, a woman pounced excitedly towards her, ” Dried Fish 1 !”
Yu Gangan was caught off guard as a pair of arms wrapped around her, forcing her body to retreat several steps and causing her to almost fall backwards.
A hand quickly supported Yu Gangan from behind, “Zhang Sa, control yourself, our Little Dried Fish is going to be flattened.”
The person supporting Yu Gangan was a 27-year-old man. He was dressed in a black down jacket and his voice was gentle like a spring breeze. His casual expression had a trace of discomfort.
Yu Gangan held onto the woman that was hugging her and regained her footing, “Hello, Senior.”
She then turned her head and greeted the man behind her with a smile, “Senior, how are you?”
Back when these two were still studying, they would learn Chinese medicine from her grandfather during their university vacations.
The woman was called, Zhang Sa.
The man was called, Chen Fuli.
Zhang Sa was a normal EU doctor that was proficient in both Chinese and Western medicine.
As for Chen Fuli, he was young, but he was already a famous neurologist in Beijing.
“You should be calling me Uncle,” Chen Fuli tilted his head and ordered Yu Gangan to correct her greeting.
Chen Fuli had learned from her grandfather, but he was also classmates with He Shigui. So, he disliked it when Yu Gangan called him Senior.
Yu Gangan pressed her lips together and smiled, “If I call you Uncle, then it will make you sound old.”
Chen Fuli brushed back his black down jacket and shoved his hands in his pockets, “No…”
