The Sweetest Medicine

chapter-220
Zhang Sa’s home wasn’t far, but the roads were a little busy in the morning.
By the time Yu Gangan grabbed her medicine chest and drove over, 2 hours had already passed.
As soon as Zhang Sa saw Yu Gangan, she immediately dragged her inside.
Inside lay a tired-looking man in a bed. He was so skinny that he was practically just a skeleton. Beside the man, Zhang Sa’s auntie was taking care of him.
When Yu Gangan first saw the man, she was quite shocked. “What’s this all about? Has he been sick for a long time?” Yu Gangan asked as she looked at Zhang Sa.Zhang Sa sighed and said, “He had a bout of sickness before and was diagnosed with dysentery so he was on a strict diet and lost a lot of weight. He should have recovered by now, but I don’t know what’s been wrong with him lately, he suddenly became dazed and confused. Sometimes, he struggles to recognize people and find his way home when he’s out. And, every now and then, he randomly screams and shouts. When he’s not screaming and shouting, he looks dazed and doesn’t say a word. He had an examination in Baiyang City, but they didn’t find anything, so we came to Beijing to get him checked. But, the doctor told us to take him to a psychiatrist.”
As she spoke, Zhang Sa handed her uncle’s medical record to Yu Gangan.
Yu Gangan received it and opened it.
But, the name on the top of the record caused Yu Gangan to freeze.
Zhang Rongbiao.
She had seen this name before.
It was one of the names on the medical records that her teacher collected. After looking at the record, Yu Gangan sat down beside Zhang Rongbiao and began to check his pulse.
Time ticked by.
After checking one wrist, Yu Gangan swapped to the other one.
The room was quiet as Zhang Sa’s auntie stared at Yu Gangan, her gaze unmoving.
Zhang Sa patted the woman on the shoulder comfortingly before she tipped Yu Gangan a glass of water.
That was when she noticed that the handsome guy from the karaoke had accompanied Yu Gangan there.
He was sitting quietly on the sofa. As Zhang Sa glanced over, she felt a sense of soul-stealing charm.
Noticing her gaze, Fang Zhihan took a quick look at the woman. His eyes had a trace of coldness.
[Didn’t Dried Fish say that he was her patient?]
Zhang Sa had never witnessed such an intimate relationship between a doctor and a patient. They were so close that he was even following her to a consultation.
[That brat is a liar.]
[How dare she hide her boyfriend from her senior?]
A little while later, Yu Gangan finished her pulse check.
She then lifted Zhang Rongbiao’s eyelid and took a look at his pupils. After that, she also checked his tongue.
Zhang Sa’s auntie leaned forward and asked worriedly, “What did you find?”
“Which hospital did he go to in Baiyang City?” Yu Gangan asked in seriousness.
“At first, he went to Bozhi Hospital. Afterwards, he went to City Hospital,” the auntie replied.
“Tell me everything in detail,” Yu Gangan said.
Zhang Sa was afraid that her auntie wouldn’t be able to explain things clearly, so she answered on her behalf, “Three months ago, my uncle was diagnosed with dysentery at Bozhi Hospital. At that time, they also said he had a high chance of cancer, so they immediately prescribed him some medicine. After taking the medicine, it made him really dizzy, so he was taken to City Hospital for another check. City Hospital confirmed that he simply had a serious case of dysentery and had no signs of cancer, so they prescribed him another medicine. He ended up recovering quite well and I even prescribed him some Chinese medicine to replenish his body. But, a few days ago, he suddenly became really confused. When Baiyang City couldn’t give an answer for this, I told him to come to Beijing…”
“Did he do a blood test?”
“Yes, it came back fine,” Zhang Sa replied before she asked, “What did you find?”
“It has nothing to do with dysentery. He is strong on the surface, but weak on the inside; hot on the outside, cold on the inside; and there is bad qi circling his body. It appears to be neurotoxicity.”
