The Despair of First Prince Maximilian Lewin Royal [Part 2]

Maximilian’s POV

“Maximilian Lewin Royal, you will be under my control from today on.”

The magician took advantage of the few seconds I was shaken because of her hair and eye color and cast her magic.

From that day on, my body didn’t belong to me anymore.

Someone who wasn’t me ate, rested, met people, all using my mannerisms, and gave out orders that I definitely would never say.

And I could only see and hear all that.

Even though I knew about this disgusting plan, I couldn’t even let my voice out freely and inform anyone of this.

And then, the principal offender of that disgusting plan was me, Maximilian.

No matter how loud I screamed,

No matter how desperately I shouted,

No matter how much I cried and pleaded,

…what came out of my mouth was orders for the Empire to invade the Kingdom.

“Prepare the ships. (Stop it)”

“Load the artillery into the ships. (Stop)”

“Rain those cannonballs down on the Royal Capital. (Please stop)”

“The time of the extracurricular lesson when the king is absent will be a good day to carry out our plan. (Please stop it)”

I would destroy the country I was supposed to protect.

Someone, please stop this.

Stop me.

Someone…

Someone…

Someone…

End of Maximilian’s POV

“Did you say something, Your Highness Maximilian?”

Inside the office, the prime minister, buried under the piles of documents, lifted his head.

Before him stood First Prince Maximilian, who had finished his study abroad the other day and returned from the Empire.

“Yes, a dozen ships from the Empire are scheduled to arrive at the Port of Simmons tomorrow.”

“Ships from the Empire? Moreover, a dozen of them? We have never received any word regarding that…”

The prime minister pulled out the list of permits to enter the Port of Simmons from the stack of documents to confirm.

“Yes, sorry about that. I completely forgot that I have invited some Imperial nobles I got along with during my study abroad. I haven’t done the formalities for the ships to enter the port.”

First Prince Maximilian smiled brightly and asked the prime minister to be lenient with it this time.

His smile, voice intonation, and way of speaking, all of them, were of First Prince Maximilian.

Still, the prime minister tried to hide his clouded face from First Prince Maximilian desperately. ‘How could the first prince, a member of the Royal Family, apologize so easily? Moreover, there’s no way he would ask me, the prime minister, for leniency for the formalities to enter the port. His Highness Maximilian understands everything about the Kingdom’s political system. If it were him until now, he would go directly to the Port Entry Bureau if he wanted to do the procedures for entering the port.’

“Understood. I will arrange it right away.”

“Yes, please do.”

Maximilian nodded with satisfaction before leaving the office. The prime minister saw him off, and after the door closed with a *click*, he sighed while holding his head.

“Sure enough, what Queen Victoria said was right all along…”

Last night, when everyone fell deeply asleep.

Under the queen’s order, several important figures were called together in utmost secrecy.

“Maximilian is being manipulated by someone.”

The queen didn’t say “Perhaps…” but declared affirmatively that Maximilian was currently under someone’s control.

Other than the prime minister, Royal Guard Knights and other ministers also couldn’t believe it so readily.

“What are you saying, Your Majesty?”

“Your Majesty, you are saying that His Highness Maximilian is brainwashed?”

“If he was brainwashed, there’s no way we wouldn’t notice it, right? His Highness’ expression was natural, and nothing felt out of place with his smile.”

If someone was brainwashed because of hypnosis, the unnaturalness in one’s expression would be obvious.

Brainwashing was an old method that had long been used in power struggles between aristocrats, so how to see through it had already been widely known.

One’s expression became limited, and there were no fluctuations in one’s emotions.

Everyone in the room reacted sensitively to the queen’s statement as they found it unexpected and offhand. After fully digesting her words, they all suddenly turned angry and aggressive.

They couldn’t see any of those signs in Maximilian after he returned to the Kingdom.
