The Academy’s Secret Club [Part 1]

The Royal Capital’s academy housed various clubs run independently by the students. The gathering of young ladies that started in an empty classroom to find the correct angles for bows and curtsies when Melsa’s mother, Duke Hilda Sullivan aka [the Manner Demon], attended the academy continued until the present under the name of “the Etiquette Club.”

Students could join clubs of their choice, such as the Joust Club (the gathering of male students aspiring to be a knight), the Salon Club (which first started with the motive to widen one’s network in high society), the Dance Club (which had become popular due to the recent dance boom), etc., and deepen their interactions with other schoolmates.

After the Embroidery class, Emma’s skill was highly appreciated by the young ladies from the [Advanced] Embroidery class, and she was invited to join the Embroidery Club. They told Emma she could take her time to consider their invitation, but Emma had actually never heard of club activities in the academy before and was clueless about what they were like.

Seeing Emma’s blank face, the twins told her about the club they were in to provide a reference.

“We joined a club that studies hair arrangement at the invitation of a senior in the girls’ dormitory, didn’t we, Catlyn?”

“The place for the activity is in the girls’ dormitory lounge, and the gathering time is after dinner, right, Catherine?”

“I heard many young ladies are in the Embroidery Club, which is why you can join without pressure.”

“Although… some clubs are on the shady side, so please do be careful,” Francesca advised.

There were clubs with an unpleasant atmosphere where high-ranking aristocrats threw their weights around, clubs with sloppy activities because they couldn’t find an advisor, and even clubs that absolutely refused to disclose what their clubs were doing.

“I’m in the Knights Club. The teacher of the swordsmanship class is the advisor, so we’re allowed to have matches, albeit only with practice swords. I would say it’s a legit club. If I remember correctly, the Embroidery Club also has an advisor.”

Marion explained that although no outsiders were allowed in the academy, clubs could ask academy professors to be their advisors.

“Ohh? So you can have swordfights, huh? That sounds fun!”

George showed interest in Marion’s explanation.

“After we moved here, I have only exercised during my morning training with Father and [Practical Skill for Hunters], so I’m starting to feel a little rusty~”

“ “No, that’s more than enough!!” ”

The boys had just finished their [Practical Skill for Hunters] class, and William and Joshua were still struggling to adjust their breaths. At George’s remark, they kept muttering, “This damn gorilla! Gorilla, you damn gorilla!” hatefully.

“Umm… I’ve been a little occupied recently (with Over’s research), so I will reconsider joining club activities after the summer break. Ah♡ Everyone, Prof. Wolfgang is here.”

The Monster Science teacher opened the door and came in when the school bell rang. The moment the super fierce, impactful, brawny type of cool old man (Emma’s opinion), Wolfgang Galiano, arrived in class, the students sat up straight tensely out of fear.

Only the panther Emma looked at his skinhead and thick neck muscles in fascination.

(I’ll probably wanna join a club if Prof. Galiano is the advisor… Ah, but the Economics teacher, Prof. Marcus, has this mysterious vibe around him and is also wonderful~)

“Emma Stuart! Don’t space out in class! What’s the most effective way to defeat this monster?!”

“Yes, Prof. Wolfgang♡ Salamander is a monster that can manipulate flames freely, and pouring large amounts of water on it as a frontal attack is said to be the best way to defeat it. However, water is a precious resource in many borderland territories. As the cost to defeat one salamander is simply too expensive, our territory, Palace, normally defeats it with basic physical attacks. Bows or spears that can keep a safe distance from the flames are recommended!”

“I-Is that so?”

‘I have never heard of such a thing.’ Wolfgang was surprised.

Salamander’s fire-wielding power was terrible, and even with long-range weapons like bows, one couldn’t escape getting burns without using water.

“Yes, Professor♡ Salamander’s body itself is pleasantly cool, so if you stick salamander skin to the burnt area, it will heal faster!”

“Eh? Is that so?”
