Chapter 295: Feelings Do Not Permit Betrayal
Tu Xiuyu had done so many things to hurt Tianlan. If Tianlan felt any regret or guilt for Tu Xiuyu’s death, Luo Yunzhu was going to slap her hard to wake her up. After all, Tu Xiuyu had never regretted treating Tianlan monstrously until the very end.
Feng Tianlan shook her head. “I’m just sighing.”
She wasn’t a saint. Tu Xiuyu had purposely dressed in red so that everyone would think that she was hoping to become a vengeful spirit to haunt those who had opposed her in life. But, after seeing how she was so satisfied and happy in death, Feng Tianlan realized that this wasn’t the case at all. Tu Xiuyu had simply wanted Si Rong to die with her. Even in death, she had wanted to be Si Rong’s bride.
“Tianlan, can you explain yourself a little more clearly?” Luo Yunzhu didn’t get it. But Luo Yunzhu also sighed when she saw things more clearly. Just a few days ago, these people had been stomping their feet and complaining about how unfairly they were being treated. Now, they had all been arrested without Tianlan losing anything.Tianlan was amazing. She hadn’t lost anything but had managed to take them down all the same.
“She was wearing red for Si Rong,” Feng Tianlan calmly replied. She couldn’t understand why Tu Xiuyu had done what she did. Si Rong was such an awful man, so why was she so bent on marrying him? Because of love?
Feng Tianlan started to doubt her previous self, wondering what sort of feelings she’d had for Jiang Ying. Perhaps she hadn’t loved him enough, or maybe she just hated him so much now that she’d forgotten the love she had once had for him.
For Tianlan, feelings did not permit any form of betrayal!
“What?” Luo Yunzhu was shocked. She couldn’t help but look back at the place where Tu Xiuyu had landed, now just a puddle of blood. “I can’t imagine it at all. I can’t entirely agree with what she did.”
“It’s very common, though.” Zhang Tiancheng didn’t think it was impossible. He had seen a lot of such things.
Luo Yunzhu glared at him. “Go and die.”To Luo Yunzhu, a scoundrel like Si Rong deserved death in the first place. Girls like Tu Xiuyu were just too dumb. If she had come to her senses earlier, then none of this would have happened. Besides, there were so many men in the world. Why did she have to insist on having this one?
Zhang Tiancheng rubbed his nose and said with a little embarrassment, “I didn’t say anything wrong. So many girls in the brothel have been so blinded by love. They say things like, ‘I’ll see you in my next life,’ before dying. It’s so dumb.”
“Humph! If I ever meet a scoundrel like that, I’m going to cut his balls off then sell him to the brothel to be a male prostitute.”
“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
Feng Tianlan watched Zhang Tiancheng and Luo Yunzhu start up their little squabble again. They were so lively and filled with energy, it was as if they had been enemies in a previous life.
Back at Feng Manor, the bodyguards and servants busied themselves in an orderly manner. They didn’t fight each other for a higher position or step on those who were of a lower rank like they used to. Feng Manor had finally gotten back on the right track, and Tu Xiang and his family had finally been chased out.
Meanwhile, in the jail, Tu Xiang and Si Rong were very anxious and unsettled, but Tu Xiupei and Xu Jiayi were sitting very calmly. It was as if they had come as visitors instead of prisoners.
“Jiayi, is someone from Beiqi Nation coming to save you?” Tu Xiang gripped the jail gate and asked Xu Jiayi, who was sitting across from him. There was a metal chain that bound Tu Xiang’s hands together. It clinked when he walked.
Xu Jiayi looked up and shot him a disdainful glare. “You can just die here.”
“Pei’er, Pei’er! You will save your father, right? You’ll save me, right?” Tu Xiang pleaded with Tu Xiupei. He was her father, so she ought to save him.
Tu Xiupei glanced at him, then asked Xu Jiayi, “Mother, is he really my father?”
“No. He’s not fit to be your father.”
“Xu Jiayi! You little sl*t! How dare you have a child with another man! Once I get out, I’m going to kill you,” Tu Xiang rattled the jail gate angrily. The chain binding his hands clinked loudly as it slapped the metal gate.
These metal chains had been forged from thousand-year black steel to suppress a prisoner’s Spiritual force. Even though Tu Xiang had reached the level of Spiritual Grandmaster, he couldn’t use his Spiritual force to break free.
