Chapter 43 – Since Song Tingshen didn’t have a good relationship with his wife, why didn’t he divorce her? (3)
Little Wang played with the food in his bowl as he asked, “Mom, can I eat ice cream today?” Even though he already had food in his bowl, he was greedily thinking about dessert.
In Ruan Xia’s original world, her relatives’ children had all liked her. It was because she would bribe them with snacks and toys. In her opinion, spending a small amount of money on these children in exchange for peace and quiet was totally worth it!
And so, when Ruan Xia first transmigrated here, she wouldn’t have refused Little Wang’s request. She was fine with him eating whatever he wanted.
But now that she had been his mother-in-name for almost a month, Ruan Xia’s way of thinking changed without her noticing. “No.”Little Wang looked at her with a sad face. There was still rice sticking to his chubby face. “Why?”
Ruan Xia took her phone out to show him the data. “The doctor has set a limit to how many calories you can each day. If you eat ice cream, you’ll go over the limit. You already had ice cream yesterday. You can’t have it today. Besides, your dad will check the refrigerator when he comes home.”
Song Tingshen was truly very strict. He would check the refrigerator every day, and he even remember how many snacks were in the refrigerator. If the amount dwindled, he would ask.
Although he loved Little Wang a lot, he wouldn’t spoil him.
He was a kind and strict father.
Little Wang’s eyes turned as he thought. An idea popped up. “Can’t we just tell dad that you ate the ice cream?”
Ruan Xia shot him a glance. “You want mom to become the scapegoat?”Anyone would want to eat ice cream on a hot day. She wasn’t an exception. But, she had gained the conscientious of a goddess. The original owner had maintained such a good figure. She couldn’t be the one that ruined it!
During the first few days after she had transmigrated here, she hadn’t paid attention to what she was eating and ate whatever she wanted. The original owner had a high-tech scale that recorded her weight. And so, when she went on the scale, it showed her that she had gained a kilogram.
As a single dog, Ruan Xia knew very well that increased weight would adversely affect her face value. A person’s face would look completely different if they gained or loss five kilograms! She liked the original owner’s face and figure, so of course, she had to grit her teeth and do her best to maintain it.
After all, the weight requirement for the clothes in the original owner’s closet was too stringent. If she gained a few kilograms and wore those clothes, it would be a visual disaster.
Ruan Xia shook her head and rejected Little Wang’s suggestion. “No, and your dad wouldn’t believe me anyways.”
Actually, if she said she ate the ice cream, Song Tingshen wouldn’t go through the trouble of verifying it. He wasn’t that extreme.
Little Wang looked as if life was hopeless. He used more energy to eat dinner and pretended the meal in front of him was ice cream.
Although Ruan Xia showed a sympathetic expression, she gloated, “The ice cream in the refrigerator are going to have a party to celebrate that one of them has escaped from disaster today.”
Hearing these words, Little Wang solemnly corrected her. “Mom, the ice cream isn’t alive. It doesn’t matter to the ice cream if I eat it or if it stays in the refrigerator. They can’t feel and they wouldn’t have a party.”
Ruan Xia asked, “How do you know they can’t feel? You’re not ice cream.”
Little Wang’s chubby face wrinkled. “I just know!”
