Gumihou: …an action-packed chapter, eh? *Cracks knuckles*

We teleported to a dimly lit stone room.

The mossy stone walls emitted some kind of neutral light that was neither too bright nor dark, peculiar to dungeons. It certainly gave off the RPG dungeon atmosphere.

This dungeon kind of reminded me of the one from Avering. Although, from what I had heard, Brixt’s dungeon was easily twice the size of Avering’s.

“Oi, let’s explore this place quickly and move on to the lower floors.”

“”Right, there are only boring Gargoyles here. There’s nothing to expect from these weaklings.”

“What do you mean nothing much? Gargoyles Drop jewels you know…” granted, the chances were only one-fifth of the time, but that’s still something, right?

As for the weakling remark, these stone creatures might appear a little slow, but they are strong against magic and physical attacks. So, they’re at least mid-level monsters, you know?

“You really want those little stones?” [7] sniffed Fer.

“Well, I guess we don’t really need them? [5]” I mean, I have a lot of money now thanks to Fer and the rest, but…

“Leaving the jewels aside, how are we going to do this? Fer’s speed is too high for us to properly investigate the dungeon for a hidden thing, right? I’m not even sure what we’re looking for.” [5]

“Humph, no problem. I have excellent senses. Just leave it to me.”

Fer looked really confident. However, is it really fine to leave everything to him?

“”Aruji~ Aruji~ Let’s go, let’s go~ Sui wants to defeat monsters~!””

Sui was bouncing up and down anxiously on Fer’s back.

Fumu, Sui, you stay on my back. Shoot the monsters from there.”

“”Yes, Uncle Fer~~””

“You get on my back too,” Fer ordered.

I climbed on his back, just behind an excited Sui who leapt onto Fer’s head.

Aside from a small grunt, Fer didn’t react.

Speaking of which, I hurriedly said, “Sui, make sure to only attack the Gargoyles, alright? Don’t hit any of the Adventurers. Don’t hit the monsters that other people are fighting, okay?”

“”Okay~~””

““Right, let’s goo!!!””

With Dora-chan in the lead, we stepped out of the teleportation room.

Pew, pew, pew—

Gargoyles struck by Sui’s Acid Bullets ended up with large holes in their bodies and fell backwards from the attacks.

“Wh- wh- wh whaaaa–!!! Sorry! Sorry about that! Sui, stop it!”

We left a trail of shocked and befuddled Adventurers with a pile of broken rocks at their feet after Sui’s attacks. There were a lot of people on the 20th floor, but the good news is Brixt dungeon corridors were wider than expected and we could dash through them at high speed without causing casualties.

Since Fer did not want to deal with the ‘weaklings’, Sui had a fine time shooting at the Gargoyles from her perch on Fer’s head. However, it looks like she was overly motivated…

““Sui, what did I say about shooting monsters that other people are already fighting?”” the wind generated by Fer was too strong to have a normal conversation, so telepathy was the best way to have a serious talk.

“”Why~??? Aruji~~ Sui wants to beat the bad monsters~~””

“”It’s fine to beat the bad monsters. But it’s not good to beat monsters that other people are fighting unless they ask us for help. If you do this, it’s considered stealing.”” I thought sternly at her.

“”Mu…””

It was not our first conversation on the moral ethics of destroying monsters that other Adventurers were fighting. Thus far, we had been mowing down monsters at very deep levels with no other Adventurers around to protest. Well, there were a few on the middle floors of Rosendal, but we had been far enough away that it was clear that the monsters were clearly our prey.

The issue of ‘stealing kills’ had to do with Drop ownership. This is why there is an unspoken ethic of not helping others with their kills unless the Adventurers doing battle looked like they were about to be killed or were actively asking for help.

However, there was no point in talking about this to Sui…

“”Ah! A stone monster, hyah~!!””

Pew! Pew! Pew!

““Uwawawah! Wh-what about the Adventurers? Did you hit anyone?””

“”Calm down,”” came Dora-chan’s languid voice. “”No one’s fighting that Gargoyle.””

“”Oh, that’s alright then.””

“”Hm, Sui’s attacks are pretty brutal. The faces all melted away…””

“… …” I was trying not to think about that. Trying not to notice all the headshots…

“”Uncle Fer told me to hit the head if I don’t know their weak points~ [5]””

“”Oho, excellent advice,”” crowed Dora-chan.

“”Humph, of course, my advice is always excellent.””

“”What are you talking about? Don’t teach Sui weird things!”” I yelped.

“”What weird things? It’s important things.””

“”Yeah, yeah, it’s all important monster killing things!””

Grrr, these two battle junkies. They are corrupting my sweet little Sui…

“”More Gargoyles ahead!”” Dora-chan called.

“”Adventurers?””

“”There are some, and it looks like they are in trouble.”

““Umu, it looks like they have been surrounded,””

Indeed, a group of Adventurers had been backed against the wall by a bunch of Gargoyles.

“Help! Help!”

Well, that’s our cue.

“”Sui, help them!””

“”Ye~es~~””

Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew!

Pew! Pew! Pew! Pew!

Acid Bullets struck the Gargoyles in the head. When the monsters toppled, the Adventurers looked stunned at how easily my party defeated the monsters.

One of them regained their senses enough to call out, “Excuse me, thanks for the help!”

I barely managed a ‘Welcome!’ before Fer dashed passed them. We barely even slowed down.

“Fer?”

“It’s a hassle to talk to those people, and we still haven’t found what we came for.”

Someone shouted from behind us, “What about the Drops!?”

I yelled back the best I could, “Keep it!”

It was not the first time this happened. Each time we encounter Gargoyles, Sui would immediately headshot them, regardless of what I said.

In the end, all I could do was yell, “Sorry! Keep the Drops!” as we passed by various parties of Adventurers.
