Chapter 317 - My Ancestor Is Xiahou Dun

Choi Myeongho brought Xia Lei into the room and left, grumbling as he went. A small, sinister smile hovered about his lips, as if a conspiracy was afoot.

Xia Lei had already speedily scanned the room. There wasn’t anything abnormal about it - a bed, an attached bathroom, a sofa and so on. Just an ordinary room. However, he quickly discovered something off about it. There was a faint fragrance wafting about the room and women’s underwear in the bedside table.

He wouldn’t believe that Ahn Suhyeong had truly invited him to drink tea, and in a woman’s room at that. But what did he bring him into a woman’s room for?

Footsteps came from beyond the door.

Xia Lei looked back and his left eye twitched. The wooden walls disappeared and he saw a young woman coming this way. She was a typical Korean woman, fresh from the beauty assembly line. A face which ended in a point, big eyes, a nice nose and mouth, and a startlingly large chest; no one could find fault with her. Too bad it was all fake. Xia Lei could see with his left eye that there were silicon implants in her breasts and plastic sheets in her nose.

The woman was walking normally at first but she started messing up her hair and clothing when she got close to the room. Her hair was messy and her clothes torn in the blink of an eye, revealing large areas of tempting white scenery,

Everything had been normal till then, and Xia Lei understood her intentions from her actions. Before she got to the door, he took two leaping steps and stepped up the wall-column of the room, jumping up to the ceiling. He stretched out his hand and grabbed hold of a beam, moving lightly as he hid atop it.

A bit of dust floated down from his body but it was not obvious.

The woman did not knock. She pushed the door open right away and the first thing she did was to pull apart the shirt she was wearing, even pushing her bra up to to her chin, exposing her breasts. She opened her mouth at the same time to shout, “Help…”

She called out once, then stopped because there was no one in the room.

How was she going to act like she had been assaulted if the room was empty?

“Where’s he?” The woman looked all over and even checked the bathroom but found no one. She was nonplussed. “Shit. Wasn’t the guy supposed to be in this room? What is this? What did I tear my clothing for?”

This Korean beauty’s expression was comical. She stamped her foot and turned to walk out.

Some of the Ahn family bodyguards suddenly appeared in the doorway, and leading them was Choi Myeongho, who had left just minutes ago. The men’s gazes went uniformly to the woman’s exposed chest, her pale, round breasts, and their eyes bugged.

“Ah!” The woman screamed, and hurriedly pulled her bra down, then tried to cover herself with her tattered shirt.

Choi Myeongho had obviously brought men over to catch a pervert but the pervert was missing. The bodyguards he brought looked at each other in confusion, unsure of what was going on.

“What’s this?” said Choi Myeongho anxiously, “Where’s that punk?”

“I don’t know. There was no one here when I came in,” said the woman.

“How are you doing your job?” Choi Myeongho was mad.

The woman rolled her eyes at him. “I should be the one asking you that. You said he’s here, so I came. My clothes are all torn but he’s not here!”

“What are you all standing around for? Search!” Choi Myeongho was hopping mad.

The bodyguards exited the doorway, one each in every direction to look for Xia Lei. Choi Myeongho and the woman exchanged a few lines of argument before they left.

Xia Lei jumped down from the beam and patted the dust off himself, then left the room.

What had happened was a despicable ploy, and who knew if the idea had been cooked up by Ahn Suhyeong or if he had been the one to incite the butler, Choi Myeongho, to direct the whole thing. If Xia Lei had not reacted as quickly as he had and become entangled with the woman when she burst in, Choi Myeongho would have brought men over to ‘catch the pervert’. Whether Shentu Tian-Yin believed him or not, or whether the Korean police would get involved, one thing was for sure - he would get chased out of the Ahn residence.

This trap didn’t require much skill but not all traps needed a high level of skill. Sometimes a simple incriminating trap like this was the most effective.

Too bad Xia Lei had a godly eye and this sort of low-skill trap was just a farce to him.

Xia Lei walked over to the hall which resembled the Blue House after leaving the room. On his way there, he used his X-ray vision on all the buildings he saw, searching for Ahn Guengan’s room of collection of antiques.

He did not find Ahn Guengan’s collection room but Xia Lei discovered that the security level in the Blue House-like hall was much higher than the other buildings. Cameras had been installed in several areas and the number of bodyguards and equipment was also obviously higher than in other places. Though he still had not found Ahn Geungan’s collection room, Xia Lei had a feeling that he was close.

“Over there!” came a shout suddenly.

Xia Lei looked towards the source of the shout and saw Choi Myeongho and some bodyguards running over. It was easy for them to find him when he was just walking about in plain sight.

Right behind Choi Myeongho and the bodyguards was that woman, and her clothes were still the tatters she had ripped. She ran behind the men and her silicon-filled breasts bounced as she ran; it was a sight one could not help but stare at.

Xia Lei was surrounded instantly. The elderly Choi Myeongho took large gasping breaths and his words came out in a sputter. “You… You dare…”

Continuing the sham?

If he was, then it was way too sloppy. Forget about skill - was this all Ahn Suhyeong could do?

Xia Lei smiled and shook his head. “Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

Choi Myeongho turned back and shot a look at the woman, telling her to do something.

The woman hesitated, then walked towards Xia Lei. The hand covering her chest moved in preparation to do something.

At that moment, Ahn Suhyeong appeared at the end of the corridor with Shentu Tian-Yin by his side.

“What are you doing?” Ahn Suhyeong asked loudly.

“We…” Choi Myeongho’s expression was strange, and it seemed like he wanted to say ‘Didn’t you ask us to do this?’

“Go about your duties. Don’t cause a commotion here, acting all unruly,” said Ahn Suhyeong.

Framing Xia Lei for molesting a plastic beauty in front of Shentu Tian-Yin was not something Ahn Suhyeong would do.

Ahn Suhyeong looked at Xia Lei, then looked at Choi Myeongho and said, “What are you all standing around for? What is this unruliness!”

The bodyguards swiftly withdrew and the woman left too.

“What happened, Lei?” Shentu Tian-Yin walked to Xia Lei with concern in her eyes.

Xia Lei smiled. “I don’t know. I don’t understand what they’re saying, but… it seems like they’re looking for someone?”

“I see. I thought you’d gotten yourself into some sort of trouble,” said Shentu Tian-Yin.

“In trouble? How can that be? This is Mr Ahn’s home and there are so many bodyguards,” said Xia Lei.

Ahn Suhyeong walked over too with a smile on his face. “Mr Xia, my people did not cause any trouble for you, I hope?”

“No, no, I just don’t understand what they’re saying.” He paused, then said a little sheepishly, “And Mr Ahn, you have such a large house that I’ve lost my way. I was going to look for you but ended up walking here unexpectedly.”

“Suhyeong, could you bring us around? This place is very big indeed and I feel rather lost too,” said Shentu Tian-Yin.

Ahn Suhyeong would not have taken notice if it had been Xia Lei who had asked but he would not reject Shentu Tian-Yin’s request. “Sure, I’ll show you around.”

“Thank you, Mr Ahn,” said Xia Lei politely.

Disgust flashed in Ahn Suhyeong’s eyes but he put a smile on his face. “Let’s go.”

The three of them strolled about the premises with Ahn Suhyeong as guide. Xia Lei learnt from him that this residence was almost 200 years old and was a palace during the Qing dynasty. Korea was a vassal state of the Central Plains during the Qing dynasty and this place had been used to receive imperial guests and generals. Ahn Suhyeong’s ancestors were court officials from that time.

“Our ancestors were heroic warriors who accomplished legendary feats for our Korean nation. We have a collection of armour and weapons left by our ancestors. Hehe, Tian-Yin, this may sound silly to you but I would like to be a general, not a businessman.” Ahn Suhyeong spoke frankly with assurance, like the young master of a long line. He seemed to want Shentu Tian-Yin to know that he was leaps and bounds ahead of Xia Lei in terms of heritage.

Shentu Tian-Yin had no obvious reaction. She spoke evenly, “Really? It’s also good if you can continue your family’s business.”

Ahn Suhyeong laughed lightly and his gaze landed on Xia Lei’s face; his eyes turned scornful, goading.

Xia Lei pretended not to see and said, “Speaking of family histories, my Xia line has quite a story too.”

“Oh?” Shentu Tian-Yin seemed interested, “What family history do you have? I’ve never heard you mention it. Tell me, I’d like to know.”

Xia Lei laughed and said, “You know Xiaohou Dun, General of Wei State of the Three Kingdoms Period? That’s my ancestor.”

Shentu Tian-Yin paused, then giggled. “Of course I know Xiahou Dun, but I think you’re pulling my leg.”

The smile on Ahn Suhyeong’s face disappeared. He didn’t care if Xiahou Dun was indeed Xia Lei’s ancestor, but he cared that Shentu Tian-Yin was laughing so happily! She had never laughed like that with him.

Was Xiahou Dun really his ancestor? Xia Lei didn’t know himself but he put on an earnest act. “It’s true. My family still has my ancestor’s sword in our possession. It’s very bright and shiny and you can see your reflection in it. Mr Ahn, you said your family has a collection of your ancestors’ armour and weapons. Can they show you your reflection?”

“Hahaha…” Ahn Suhyeong laughed loudly.

Xia Lei put on an innocent face. “What are you laughing about, Mr Ahn?”

“I’m laughing at you for trying to seem like an expert when you know nothing of antiques. Real ancient swords are not shiny, much less reflective. You must’ve bought a modern imitation-ancient sword, huh?”

“Even if my ancestor’s sword is a fake, is your ancestor’s sword definitely the real deal? No one’s seen it before either. Who knows, it might just be a blade used to chop wood,” said Xia Lei.

“Hah!” Ahn Suhyeong snorted in displeasure. “I’ll take you to see a real ancient sword and open up your horizons!”

Shentu Tian-Yin nudged Xia Lei quietly. “You’ve made a fool of yourself.”

Xia Lei made no issue of it, because he’d already guessed what Ahn Suhyeong was going to take them to see.

And that was what he wanted.
