Chapter 209: You and Cheng Dongge Will Be Going on a Business Trip to Li City the Day After Tomorrow

Qi Chengzhi got drunk the night before, but it had absolutely no effect on him. His drunkenness lent him the bravery to do just about anything.

After they returned home, he rubbed her defiantly in addition to licking and kissing her. Even though he was wasted, his mind functioned well enough that he remembered to be gentle and not enter her. His imagination ran wild though, and he managed to conjure up all sorts of innovative skills. It enriched his creativity tremendously, and he rubbed against her front and back, causing her to climax a good few times.

Once she recalled all the flagrant things that he had done to her the night before, she was unable to narrate everything to him in response to his question.

“That’s enough from you!” Angry, annoyed, and shy, she told him, “Time to go downstairs and eat.”

“Very satisfied?” Qi Chengzhi asked again, half-smilingly.

“You were the one who did it. It’s not my problem if you can’t remember it! Meanie!” Song Yu removed his hand from her waist and went down by herself.

After the meal, Song Yu disinfected the wound on his forehead and changed the gauze pad.

“Are you sure you don’t need to go to the hospital?” Song Yu was still worried although the wound was not large at all. Earlier that morning, Song Yu got up while Qi Chengzhi was still sleeping and went downstairs. She asked Aunt Yang regarding the accident, to which Aunt Yang relayed the security guard’s words. Song Yu listened to everything and still felt the post-accident stress.

The front and rear of the car was completely destroyed, and it was miraculous that Qi Chengzhi came out unscathed. Song Yu decided to ask the old lady which temple the latter often frequented. Song Yu wanted to visit the temple too as she wanted to pray for Qi Chengzhi to be blessed and protected.

“I’m alright. Really. I’ve already went to Lao Chu’s hospital to check up the day before. All kinds of scans were done, and it’s only an external wound,” Qi Chengzhi assured.

Since the Range Rover was wrecked, Qi Chengzhi drove out the Jaguar that had been kept in the garage for some time.

He was not a fan of driving such a car. It was too low, and driving it was uncomfortable because of what little space such cars had.

He began considering whether he should just get a new Range Rover and be done with it. Nevertheless, the one that was currently in repair at the 4S automobile shop had been in his possession for many years. He was attached to the car, and he could not bring himself to just replace it with a new one.

The couple went back to the Qi family manor, and the first thing they saw at the entrance hall were two pairs of outsiders’ shoes. One belonged to a man and the other, a woman. Time and again, sounds of courteous exchanges and laughter could be heard coming from the living room.

Aunt Liu greeted them at the entrance hall and called out, “Young Master, Young Madam.”

She was shocked when she looked up at Qi Chengzhi, leading her to utter softly, “Young Master, your head…”

“I’ll explain it later. Who’s visiting?” he asked.

Aunt Liu said, “Young Master, it’s your friend, Mr. Mu, and his sister.”

Song Yu was unhappy when she heard the answer. It came as a surprise that Mu Sisi would show up in person at the home. She looked up at Qi Chengzhi and waggled her brows to tease him.

He kneaded her hand in response and said, “Don’t start with me.”

They entered the living room and saw both Mu Huaisheng and Mu Sisi seated there.

During the wedding, Mu Huaisheng made a statement saying he would bring Mu Sisi to the home and apologize. In any case, he was just saying it for the sake of it, since the atmosphere was too awkward the day before and he simply just wanted to bring an end to the conversation.

He knew full well that the Qi family did not welcome Mu Sisi. Her presence would only turn everyone off.

Mu Sisi quietly made her way to the Qi family home that morning, catching him by surprise. Once he knew of her intentions, he sped there as well to prevent the woman from stirring up more trouble.

Once she arrived, she showed no intention to leave the place.

Upon noticing Qi Chengzhi and Song Yu, Mu Sisi strived to be the first to greet them. “Big Brother Chengzhi, Song Yu.”

Song Yu was startled that Mu Sisi would greet her voluntarily.

Qi Chengzhi ignored Mu Sisi and led Song Yu to take a seat.

“Big Brother Chengzhi, what happened to your face? Why are you injured? You looked just fine during the wedding yesterday!” Mu Sisi asked anxiously.

She then looked at Song Yu with a suspicious glance. “Big Brother Chengzhi, did the two of you get into a fight?”

He had no desire to speak with her and continued ignoring her. Hurt, Mu Sisi’s eyes began turning red and she subsequently lowered her head.

Of course, the entire Qi family knew that Song Yu would not go physical on Qi Chengzhi. Their relationship was a near-perfect one, and if Song Yu had really wanted to nitpick and pick a fight with him, the quarrel might not even come to fruition. They knew that Song Yu had a good temper and would not get into fisticuffs with Qi Chengzhi.

The old lady was afraid that they had met with an accident on the way and was hiding it on purpose to ensure the family was not worried.

Thus, the old lady asked, “Did something happen on the way here?”

“I’ll tell everything later,” was all that Qi Chengzhi said.

The old lady was getting really frantic, but she could only nod and hold everything together. It was evident that Qi Chengzhi did not want to explain it in front of Mu Sisi.

“Big Brother Chengzhi, are you still blaming me? Aren’t you willing to forgive me?” Mu Sisi asked depressingly because she noticed Qi Chengzhi’s demeanor.

Qi Chengzhi held up a cup of tea that Aunt Liu had just served and took a sip from it. He then took a strawberry and fed it to Song Yu.

Realizing that Qi Chengzhi had made the decision to ignore her, Mu Sisi clenched her jaw and put on a sincere face. “Big Brother Chengzhi, Song Yu, I came here to apologize.”

Qi Chengzhi continued to remain silent, maintaining his stern and threatening look. The obsession in Mu Sisi’s heart began to grow, and she continued, “I know what I did back at Dynasty was wrong. I was too stubborn. After all, this was ten years’ worth of my pent-up feelings. I still hung on to the hope that when I come back and lay eyes on the man whom I think of day and night, I could finally let him see that I’m a woman now. It was hard for me to accept it when I found out he was already married, and because of that, I couldn’t think clearly and did something stupid.”

Mu Sisi looked down and said regrettably, “I was in such a rush to prove myself. For ten years, the one thing I’ve always wanted to do was show Big Brother Chengzhi how I’ve changed and became a woman. When my one and only objective failed so suddenly, I felt like I had nothing to hold on to, and I didn’t know how to move forward, so… I’m sorry…

“I apologize for what happened at Dynasty, but I wasn’t involved in the news report. I really had nothing to do with it,” Mu Sisi said. “Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle, Auntie, Big Brother Chengzhi, you have to believe me. I was a subject of the report as well, it also had…a picture of me naked. I’m not that crazy to let myself be pictured naked just so I could give you guys trouble.

“I know when you accepted the interview, everyone said it was my doing. I don’t know how else to explain it to all of you because I was the one at fault to begin with. None of you would believe that I had nothing to do with the report, no matter how much I try to explain myself. But I think I’d at least tell that to all of you, whether or not anyone believes me.

“Big Brother Chengzhi, are you still not going to forgive me?” Mu Sisi asked miserably when she saw that Qi Chengzhi kept quiet right from the start.

Instead of looking at her, Qi Chengzhi looked at Mu Huaisheng, who was beside her. “This isn’t a question of forgiving. Stay far away from me in the future. We’re strangers now. Don’t say hi to me when we meet and don’t ever call me Big Brother Chengzhi. You are my brother’s sister, but you and I have nothing to do with each other. It’s that simple. Understood?”

Mu Sisi’s body shook a couple of times and her lips trembled. She only began speaking after some time had passed. “Can’t you treat me as a friend or like a little sister?”

“I’m not in the habit of treating other people like a sister. I already have a sister in the family and her name’s Chengyue. Song Yu wouldn’t be happy if I had a sister that’s not related to me by blood.”

“…” Song Yu paused. She did not expect him to drag her into it and paint her as a jealous person.

She blushed and looked down to avoid making eye contact with the Qi family. It worried her that the elders might think of her as being too petty.

Mu Sisi’s lip twitched and she responded desolately, “Really? But…it’s ten years. Last time I was always with you and my brother. You treated me as a sister back then, didn’t you? The other day at Dynasty, you said it yourself that you have always treated me as a sister…

“That’s a long time, and we spent a lot of time together. Are you just going to deny all of that?” Mu Sisi grasped her dress just above her knee. “Big Brother Chengzhi, don’t you remember when you taught me how to ice skate? You held me by my hand because you were worried that I’d fall down, and you were always following me from behind.”

Seemingly immersed in her memories, Mu Sisi’s expression turned increasingly warm. “I was thirteen when I first met you. The feeling I got when I first saw you was like I met an idol, someone I idolized. I know that my feelings toward those idols can never come true, but with you, my goal was to grow up and get married to you. No one knew what my intentions were back then, not even my brother. He would think that it’s a childish infatuation even if he knew. I’ve liked different idols many times before, but with you, my heart has never changed.

“I now know that you’ve never once liked me at all. My stubbornness made you angry and caused you to distance yourself from me. But Big Brother Chengzhi, I don’t have any other request now. I’m not hoping that anything will happen between us, but I just want to be your friend. I can accept it if you treat me as a stupid little sister as long as I’m beside you.”

“Miss Mu, are you really offering your sincere apology?” Song Yu finally spoke up. Her tone was rather icy.

Taken aback, Mu Sisi remarked confusedly, “Of course I’m sincere! What else would it be?”

“If you’re really sincere, then why are you talking about how much you like him in front of me? Is it proper of you to say things like you’re willing to just be his sister or his friend as long as you can see him?” Song Yu’s voice was soft and gentle. Harshness was completely absent from it, yet there was an imposing aura to her delicate-sounding voice.

“You can’t be saying that this isn’t allowed at all?” Mu Sisi became frenetic. Feeling aggrieved, she began denouncing Song Yu. “I’ve already made such a big compromise. Why are you still not satisfied? Are you really going to stop me from being his friend or his sister? Doesn’t Big Brother Chengzhi have a right to make friends with other women? What right do you have to control him like that?”

“Staying far away from my husband is the right thing to do. How can you look at it as a compromise? Why would I let you near my husband when I know perfectly well that you like him? You said that you liked him for ten years. How is it possible that you’d suddenly not like him anymore? I trust Chengzhi, but I don’t trust you. Not when you’re a woman who lusts for him and wants to stay by his side under the pretense of a friend or sister. You’re just using that as an excuse to wait for an opportunity to strike. I’m not against him having female friends, but not with those who have ulterior motives. Miss Mu, I don’t think you have any right to criticize me. I’m his wife. I have that privilege.”

“You… Song Yu, I came here today to apologize. Why aren’t you showing any sincerity in making peace?” Mu Sisi was getting angry.

“Because I have no intention to make peace with you. Chengzhi has already told you to stay away from him. Don’t even think of being his friend or his sister, and stop talking nonsense to yourself here,” Song Yu lashed out. She felt disgusted and wondered why all those women were the same. Her anger was unwittingly directed at Qi Chengzhi too, and she gave him a displeased stare.

Qi Chengzhi felt helpless after being stared at by Song Yu. He then heard Mu Sisi asking, “Big Brother Chengzhi, are you just letting her do that? There are plenty of elders in the house, isn’t it very rude of her to say these kind of things? It’s like she’s just ignoring everyone!”

Qi Chengzhi shot her a mocking look and turned to Xia Wenna. “Mother, do you mind all this?”

“As a woman, I understand Song Yu. If a lady just comes running to your father saying that she wants to be treated as his daughter, I’d be crazy to let her inside the house,” Xia Wenna opined plainly.

“Grandmother, how about you?” Qi Chengzhi asked.

The old lady coughed and began, “That’s right. The proper thing to do is stay well away from a married man. Even if she likes him, she can’t be saying those inappropriate things in front of his wife. Miss Mu, maybe the way you think is different because you grew up in America, but if you really are sincere in your apology, you should maintain a distance with Chengzhi. Stop saying things like how you want to be his friend or his sister. If you still remain close to him after that news report, it’ll create a huge misunderstanding if you get caught by those reporters. It won’t be good for our family, for Chengzhi and Song Yu, or for yourself.

“Chengzhi and Song Yu are married. The news might not affect their marriage, but outsiders will think that Chengzhi is treating Song Yu badly. They’ll misunderstand that Song Yu’s having an unhappy marriage. It’s not fair to the both of them and you. You’re not married yet. The news reports will also put a stain on the reputation of a young lady like yourself. Wouldn’t you agree that it does you no favors for your future marriage?”

The old lady spoke frankly and sensibly, leaving Mu Sisi stifled and speechless.

At one side, Qi Chengyue was deshelling some pecans for Qi Youxuan. While doing so, she added a few comments, “Miss Mu, you keep saying that you’ve liked my big brother for ten years already, but you knew him from when he was in America. He was studying for his PhD during that period. If you think that time and duration can be used to measure the depth of one’s love, then you might be surprised to know that my big brother has liked Song Yu for more than ten years. Song Yu knew my big brother ever since she was born, and if you were to take all that into account, they’ve known each other for at least twenty-six years already. If you insist on blabbing about how long you’ve liked him, you still can’t compare to Song Yu.

“Of course, I don’t know when my big brother actually started liking Song Yu, since he wouldn’t tell me. But I can guarantee that it’s longer than you.” Qi Chengyue deshelled a whole plate of pecans for Qi Youxuan and moved on to shell some pine nuts.

Mu Sisi’s expression turned stiff. There were still some things she wished to voice out, but before she could do so, Mu Huaisheng asked, “Song Yu, we’ve already confirmed the location for the store. Let’s set up a time to meet with that designer, whenever you’re free.”

“How about tomorrow? Your opening shouldn’t be delayed. It’s better if things are completed quickly,” Song Yu suggested. Tomorrow was a Monday, which meant that Ruan Danchen would be coming to work.

“Alright, I’ll contact you tomorrow.” Mu Huaisheng nodded. He dragged Mu Sisi away in spite of the latter’s struggles to try and break free.

Mu Huaisheng took large strides toward the car, hauling his sister along with him. He opened the car door and threw her inside before dashing into the driver’s seat. Afraid that Mu Sisi might try her luck in escaping, he made sure to lock all the doors.

“Why did you drag me away like that! You’re disgracing me!” Mu Sisi threw a fit as soon as Mu Huaisheng entered the car.

“I’m disgracing you? What about all that stuff you said to them? You don’t think that’s disgraceful? The Qi family has already made their stand clear. Why are you still not letting this go? Why did you come to apologize?” Mu Huaisheng sneered coldly. “How could you say all those things! Is that how you apologize? What in the hell did you say in front of all of them! You’ve humiliated me to no end, and before I even said anything, you have the decency to accuse me of disgracing you?! If I wasn’t sitting there, Qi Chengzhi would have kicked you out of the house. Mu Sisi, when will you be able to reflect on your actions?!”

“How did I not reflect on my actions!” Mu Sisi thrashed her arms wildly, messing up her hair to the point where some of it was covering her face like a deranged woman. “I already said that I was willing to be his friend or his sister. I just want to be beside Big Brother Chengzhi, that’s all. It’s Song Yu who’s being a bully! I’ve already compromised but it’s still not enough for her! She’s just narrow-minded!”

“Mu Sisi, are you sick in the head!” Mu Huaisheng finally had enough of her. “Not even the Qi family believes your words! Ask yourself honestly, are you really willing to just be his friend or his sister? I’ll be f*cking damned if you have no intention to seduce him at all! Can you try to be normal for a bit and be considerate of others? If it was you; if Qi Chengzhi was your husband and some other woman tells you that she likes him and is willing to be his friend as long as she can be beside him forever; if you don’t like her actions, would you still agree to it?”

“Of course, I’ll agree! Big Brother Chengzhi is mine anyways. If someone else likes him, it proves that he’s an amazing person and that I made the right choice. I’m okay as long as he always loves me! Song Yu’s afraid! She’s narrow-minded, unconfident, and she knows that Big Brother Chengzhi doesn’t love her as much! That’s why she’s so scared!” Mu Sisi crossed her arms and scoffed. “In the end, this only proves that Song Yu’s a petty and narrow-minded woman!”

Mu Huaisheng was so angry that he burst out in a bitter laugh. “You really are sick in the head, you know that! You’re crazy!”

He was fed up of trying to talk with his sister. If she could still protest even though she stood in the other person’s shoes, what else could persuade her?

Mu Sisi shot a glance at Mu Huaisheng, who was driving and narrowed her eyes. “Our family’s flagship store can’t just be designed by any ordinary designer. Setting up a flagship store is an important matter. When the time comes, all the news portals will report about it, and it’s quite a big event in the fashion world. Every store will look for only the most famous of interior designers. It’s okay if you don’t ask a foreigner to do it, but at least ask Autumn and Co’s boss! Why did you ask Song Yu to look for any ordinary designer!”

Mu Huaisheng responded with an icy stare. He had no desire to open his mouth and answer her.

“Mu Huaisheng, why didn’t you discuss this with me!” Mu Sisi growled.

“What’s there to discuss? You’re a fresh design graduate. What do you know about management? Even if it’s designing, the only reason you are accepted into MU is that you’re the Mu family’s precious little daughter! If it’s ability we’re talking about, your turn wouldn’t ever come! If you came into the company now, all you’ll be is an assistant designer. Don’t go around giving orders,” Mu Huaisheng said coldly.

“Fine then. I’d like to see how you’ll handle it with our parents if something happens!” Mu Sisi nodded her head angrily.

The old lady questioned Qi Chengzhi about his forehead wound immediately after Mu Huaisheng had brought Mu Sisi away. Qi Chengzhi explained everything about the other night’s accident to them.

Everyone was visibly upset, and their suspicions fell on Jian Yi.

Qi Chengzhi assured them that the situation was being investigated. He then turned to Qi Chengyue and said, “You and Cheng Dongge will be going on a business trip to Li City the day after tomorrow. This is regarding the movie-themed amusement park that Qilin will build in Li City. As the finance manager, you’ll have to find out the budget of each party as well as other related things.”
